Tried to use a coupon for their mailbox service but the manager over the phone and the mumbling clerk just refused to honor it. Told them forget about it and thank god I did. The shaker location took it without hesitation. Much more competent over there. Sent a few returns out of this location, and they are the only ups store that has mysteriously lost several packages. Booked an appointment online for notary services. Arrived on time to be told notary was not present. Was given a business card and told to call on Monday to be sure notary would be there. I did so, was told notary would be in the store after 1 pm. To be doubly sure, I also booked the 2 pm slot for the notary. Arrived for my appointment only to be told notary was not coming into the store. Why request my contact information when making an appointment if you do not intend to extend the courtesy of canceling customer's appointments? My fault for giving you the benefit of the doubt, you wasted my time TWICE. read more

Great staff here. I had lost tracking of a package that I was getting from Verizon. My mom has a P.O. Box for the family here. It's great. Back to story lol . The package was marked as delivered and I went in to ask about the delivery and the package. They looked in the system and the box number and there was no package in the system nor was there a package in the box. So here we are steady checking everything and then upon checking again Verizon has the package delivered to their store. It was weird, but I appreciate their help and they were very patient. Great care was taken to package and ship fragile items of sentimental value. And the service was friendly and helpful. Thank you! Prices seemed a bit steep for the combined cost of packaging and shipping but when sending something priceless (in sentiment or value), the quality of service matters a great deal. New owner and staff are incompetent and wasted my time. I uploaded AND PAID FOR a document to be printed by 1 pm today. At 2 pm, drove to store. No document. Can't print it because, get this, the "owner" brought her laptop home. Clerk asked if I can come back tomorrow? I also had some paper documents to copy with me. The same clerk didn't know how to use the copier. Avoid this UPS. read more

I had purchased a poster at the Museum of Art and this UPS is right near the Contemporary Art Museum, so it was a perfect stop to see if they had a shipping tube. And they did! It's a small shop that was quite crowded with boxes when I stopped in, but the gal working the counter was helpful. And my poster survived the journey home! read more

This store is an absolute disgrace. The owners obnoxious and insulted my wife several times for not getting insurance on one of her parcels. In addition my wife became ill and the package was returned to the store due to failed delivery. He must of had quite a grudge against her because when I came in to pick it up about 3 1/2 weeks later, He said that he had thrown my MacBook Air away because he is not "a storage facility". This man is an absolute disgrace and I would never ever ever recommend anyone go to the store under any circumstance unless they want their packages to be stolen from them or tossed in the garbage. Drive the extra mile to Cedar Center where you can be treated with respect and your packages treated with kid gloves. Shame on this man. Regarding tryout response, you failed to mention that you "threw away" a brand new MacBook Air. Very unlikely sir. Your actions, mannerism, professionalism, and even morality is highly suspect. Comparing shipping services worldwide, this one is a good one. For work I need to regularly send fragile, large items with pre-printed return labels. Technically UPS does NOT offer that for some reason unless you jump through a couple of loops. The people in this shop are always super helpful and I am grateful I can skip a lengthy discussion on "we don't offer that - yes, it can be done if you do xyz and please please please do it, and thaaaaaaaank you so much for doing it." Here I simply come in, state what I need and in a few minutes I get it. Super easy, polite, smart, effective. Works for me. Wish I could take the store or at least the staff along on my trips, that would help a lot. read more

Bald guy clearly hates his life and job and can't hold his tongue about it like a real man. Nobody wants to hear how annoyed you are that you have to do the job at the place you work. The past couple times I've had to go in there he made needless and sarcastic comments about what I'm there for. Store was clean, tidy, and empty when I arrived. The store is also in a great location for students. I did not end up shipping here because the employee seemed dismayed that my large package was wrapped in brown shipping paper. I find it odd that UPS would not ship a package simply because it is wrapped in standard shipping paper. Upon looking online, UPS does not recommend wrapping in paper, but it does not seem to preclude these packages from being shipped. The employee then suggested I buy their $10 box to ship my item in, but seeing as I had already boxed and wrapped my item, I was not in a hurry to purchase extraneous packaging. Determined to ship my item, I asked how much shipping would be if I purchased the box. I was quoted $50 and this is before I had mentioned that I wanted signature confirmation and insurance. I have a problem with this because I measured and weighed my item at home and the UPS online calculator quoted me at $38 with signature and insurance included. So $50 + $10 for an extra box? I elected to go to USPS. USPS cost me $49 for 2-day insured shipping with signature confirmation. They gave me no hassle about having used brown paper to wrap the cardboard box, but the main difference was that their customer service was excellent start to finish. The reason for the low rating is because the employee seemed totally disinterested in my business and offered no alternative to buying the extra box or as to why the online quote was so much lower. Customer service is basically the sole reason for this poor review - it needs some work. read more

Go elsewhere! I dropped off my bags from CWR sudden move out for pack and shipping at this store and was grossly overcharged. They charged over $34 to drop bags into a box and tape, and charged almost double the estimated rates that you can pull up on the online calculator. Do not ship with this store. If you must ship UPS use the other store in St. Clair who don't charge for simple packing and have normal shipping rates. Very disappointed and disgusted. read more

I really enjoyed reading the defensive responses to peoples' complaints below. You will find that many of the employees at this location behave in the same manner when you go in. I first attributed this to them having a bad day, but after several experiences of passive-aggressive comments for returning amazon packages to not having a prepared box (and wanting to send my item in a small envelope), I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I would advise people to do the same. Of note, the customer is NOT always right. But the delivery in working with the customers with a positive attitude and one that is not antagonistic goes a long way. From the replies to the customers' responses on here, you can tell that whoever is responding does NOT like to be wrong. Which is sad, because it's really not about being wrong or right. It's about trying to find a solution together. Your job as a customer service employee is to help the customers understand that. F for effort. read more

Don't waste your time. Go to a Fed Ex where you'll have friendly assistance. If you need to print your label they charge to use the computer and they don't know how to work it so you'll be charged for multiple prints because of that. Worst store. read more

Very helpful staff, ships packages all that great stuff. But I'm pretty irritated by the 2 dollar rental fee to print something from a USB. Ridiculous. We own a small business In University Circle that we established in 2015 as we have grown over this year our client base is no longer local. Being a Health SOLUTIONS company we ship FRAGILE Sensitive Products to customer dealing with Health Issues so we chose UPS because of their Prestige and we been shipping at this same location for about a year and never had a Packaged Damaged but just recently I did encounter a package Being Damaged by UPS so I immediately contacted UPS and They Said that they were processing the claim and that they would get back to me when the process was done. They never contacted once I called repeatedly and finally spoke to a superior who advised me They were liable but that I would have to receive payment from William and Mary who are 12 year UPS franchise business owners but when I came into the store Williams Dispostion made me extremely uncomfortable he was very disrespectful, undermining and leading me to believe that the Corporate Office Had not Filed my Claim indeed they Did so I called coporate Again and they reported indeed the Claim had been proceed for a Week! When I called William for the seventh time he was very arrogantly talking aggressive over the phone and when I asked why he lied to me, he said Corporate was indeed the liars not him, so now both Corporate and franchise are giving me the Back and Forth Game. I swear This is by far the worse UPS franchise I ever been. How can they treat people this way? I called the Corporate Office to ask about the Claim and They Said they already Issued the Check back to William and Mary and when I talked back to William he yelled and Screamed at me countless times that Corporate was lying to me and ask for the check number is what is arrogantly demanded and when I told him I had already requested the records of the claim UPS Corporate Store said William and Mary are their own entity and they can't release any information to me even though I PAID MONEY AND IM THE SENDER! now they are both giving me the run around when 1: I ship fragile packages often at this location 2: They packaged my Prodcuts with their materials. 3: They Damaged my products And they are treating me as if I did something wrong I issued a refund to my Customer immediately And I was very polite and understanding But I immediately compensated my client William and Mary were practicing Discrimination and is another continual repeat of Predijuce in University Circle Now if Corporate says William and Mary are responsible and They want to give me the Run around then What am I to Do? I have a mailbox here and I like this store during the week. The young men working there are courteous and quick. However, the young lady who works the weekend is unfriendly and extremely slow. I don't know what she is getting paid, but whatever it is- it's way too much. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I walked in planning to buy some packing peanuts and bubble wrap and pack my box myself. I asked the woman behind the counter if she could tape up the box so I could pack it. She then took my package into the back without asking and packed it herself. Upon realizing what she had done, I called to her to ask her to stop packing as my package was extremely fragile and I wanted to do it myself to make sure it was done correctly. She did not respond to me and continued to pack. After I called to her four times, her colleague went to get her, but still, she did not respond. After all of this, she charged me a $30 (!!!!) packing fee. When I asked for 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up' stickers, she only put on the 'Fragile' stickers and told me she would put on the other stickers later. I told her I would wait until she put the 'This Side Up' stickers on. Her other colleague came out 10 minutes later and told me that they didn't have any of those, sorry. So I asked her if she could get a pen and write it on and she sort of grunted at me. I will NEVER ship anything here ever again. read more

I really like this location because I feel like I know the staff. I got so familiar with everyone when I was selling my old textbooks through Amazon and had to ship them a lot. The only issue I've ever run into here was that I usually have to wait...a lot. It's mostly because of the area that it's in, but other than that, everything is great here!
