I went there today to send a package from Deer Park to New York. The girl behind the counter looked like she was extremely hungover and disheveled. Hair a mess and looked like she just woke up. I asked for the least expensive way to ship and she kept staring at the screen for about 5-10 minutes and telling me it costs $58. I have shipped multiple packages there and never paid more than $18. This was a small package of 3 pounds and I kept saying this did not make sense. I got home and googled it and if you put in the weight and dimensions, it should have been $16. She made a mistake and sent it US Post office metered ground advantage, and I called the store later, and they said it was defintely their mistake, but since the package was picked up, there was nothing they could do. The new owner is friendly but that's no excuse to be late opening the store on a regular basis. The store hours are posted 8am to 6:30 rarely does the store open at 8am. I stop by before work to send packages and it's frustrating that it's not open on time. There are several places along Rand Rd. to who want my business and respect my time. read more

I came in to return an Amazon purchase. I was waiting behind another customer as she was processing her order. A male customer came in and was behind me in line. We waited a few minutes, and the clerk realized that it was taking a long time. The clerk asked the male customer behind me if he has just a drop off and if he could help him as I stood there. I spoke up and let him know that I also just have a drop off and he tells me that he didn't see me. (Not true, as he had told me he would be right with me when I first came in.) I was literally standing there with a package in hand, and my barcode, ready to be scanned, so ladies if you're looking for a sexist UPS location where you'll be ignored, definitely the spot to be. But if you're looking for a great customer service experience, head over to the Buffalo Grove UPS Store location instead, they have kind and hardworking employees. read more

SO helpful and patient navigating Amazon returns/best prices for shipping, etc. After having poor service at other UPS stores, I now seek out this location and plan my returns accordingly. I needed to drop off my phone to trade in, and the man who helped me, I didn't catch his name but he had awesome hair, was very proactive! He guessed I was turning in a phone and emphasized that I needed to keep the receipt because they will probably be very backed up in processing the trade in, since so many have been doing the same! I would not have thought of that at all, and might have misplaced the receipt, which would be a disaster if they accused me of not sending it in. Thank you so much! read more

Only giving one star because giving zero stars is not an option! I paid a lot of money ($100) for a next day air letter to be delivered which included important time sensitive documents costing me over $500 to have these original documents processed. This UPS shop did not help locate my lost documents, did not track them for me, did not take any ownership for the lost documents which were time sensitive! After numerous (5) trips to their shop, they never took ownership for the lost documents, or their lack of assisting me to track them and put a claim for them. I ended up having to go to the corporate office in Palatine, which immediately tracked my documents, apologized for the 3 WEEK delay of my overnight letter, then refunded me a portion of the cost of sending it. I still had to cover the additional $509 out of my pocket for reinstating new documents! UPS said the shop should refund me the balance of the shipping cost since service was not rendered. I went one last time to this shop, they denied responsibility, refused to give back the balance of only $35, and were as rude as could be throughout the whole situation! I used to use them on a weekly basis as I have 3 kids in 3 far away states, but I have not stepped foot in their shop since! Whatever happened to good customer service?!?! Not here!!! read more

I go out of my way to go to this UPS store. I've emailed large print orders, no problem my order is ready in a box when I arrive. Danny has seen me coming with an arm full of returns right at closing and has still taken care of me. I've been to other UPS stores that make you tape up your own zappos and Amazon return boxes, not this place. They offer great service every time! read more

Owners are rude and inconsiderate. Can definitely tell they've had issues before. This location does NOT take responsibility for your packages especially USPS pick ups. Why offer usps service if your not going to take responsibility for a customets package? Customers beware of this when entrusting these guys (purple hair owner), with your precious cargo, packages, or returns! After asking about the safety of my package while awaiting usps pick up( having to leave it at the front door on the floor) I was told they are not responsible for it, and indeed this guy made sure my package never went out. It turned up missing and infact never handed over to USPS at all that day. Filed a complaint and still have not heard a word back the owner who was dismissive from the beginning with me. I should of trusted my instinct and never left my package with guy. I will never do business at this location again and I will urge all my friends and family to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Terrible customer service. Treated with attitude and this is not the first time. 2 min into the transaction, finding right size envelope, telling where I wanted to ship etc., he noticed I had my company UPS number that I wanted to use. "You should have told me that first", he said with annoyance. Really? What sign did I miss? I ship once in a blue moon and not familiar with the "rules". Manager was also present and did nothing so this treatment is acceptable. Maybe they make less money if customer has their own UPS number and he would have given me even less service. No thank you. I use this location quite often since it is convenient, near work, and each & every time, I receive great customer service. Today, the owner went above & beyond to provide me excellent customer service, and saved me not only another trip to a different store, but also the potential hassle of dealing with someone not as knowledgable about the shipping process. As someone who is in the customer service industry, many businesses often tout "customer service" as number one without actually backing this up with any substantial, so I appreciate a business owner who actually lives this each and every day. Very expensive to ship a box. Now that gas is super low, UPS should respond with lower prices. But the prices are higher. They used to use the excuse that gas is extremely high, as back in 20010, 11, 12. So they raised their prices. If there was a competitive alternative, I would have gone there. read more

These guys KNOW customer Service!!!! They are always very friendly and go above and beyond to get the job done quickly and efficiently. I had a package get lost over christmas and Dan Perkins went through every receipt for every day for a two month period and called me the tracking number that I needed! I would have been out several hundred dollars as the vendor told me they never rec'd the package I sent. Who would do that today?? No ONE!! They will forever have my business!!!! read more
