I'll preface this by saying the store was not overwhelmingly busy, nor even steadily busy it seemed as the associate behind the counter had apparently just finished a transaction with one other customer. I was next. I stood well within the 6ft distancing requirements , in fact probably more like 10 feet. I was trying not to drop the two packages I needed to ship, one which was well over 25lbs and awkwardly shaped with another smaller box perched precariously on top of that all while holding phone, keys etc. I wait patiently to be acknowledged, as I am not going to just go up to the counter and plop my things down rudely. I've never worked in shipping/logistics type retail, but have worked in the hospitality industry for many years and believe in giving people a minute to continue to the next transaction. Well, I proceeded to wait for at least 2 more minutes as the counter girl laboriously taped up a package, danced around to a song I can only assume was in her head , as it did not seem to be the elevator/ background music currently on the store's audio system. I'm all about people enjoying their work environment, but hey, I'm about to drop all of my stuff I juggled and struggled with, and eventually I did. She never even acknowledged me. Finally, and I really am not exaggerating, another co worker entered the store with cleaning products and that was an additional 2 minute completely unnecessary, ridiculous conversation to endure about which cleaning product smelled like cleaning product? And not something else? Whatever that meant. I was puzzled and completely exasperated at this point. I really DO NOT expect 5 star treatment at a UPS store. I do expect the absolute most basic level of courteousness. This girl went out of her way to be rude to me, for no reason. None whatsoever. When I finally did get called up to the counter, which in all sincerity was almost 6 minutes, I know for a fact as I had somewhere to be and needed to get this little errand done, and after my packages clumsily fell out of my arms I left them near me on the floor and was checking the time consistently. Our interaction was even worse than the abject rudeness of this individual as she clearly doesn't even understand the basics of her job. I needed to make a copy, A copy mind you, a copy of a document I already had that was too large for my home printer to accurately display all of the text. I asked her how do I access and pay for the copier, once again, I reiterated, for one black and white single page copy. She starts insisting I need to take a screen shot of the document and from there email it to her. at the ups email? I don't really know what that even meant and the absurdity of it. Email a copy of my confidential document? Sure, here's my birth certificate, why wouldn't I give my private info to the abrasive and off putting heavy set counter girl! Why not? Great idea! All she said was screen shot it and then email it to me. What?! Really? Why? I have the document I need a copy of in my hand.I was utterly confused, by which she added, well it's a flat rate of $3.00. For one copy? One copy and one sheet of paper. I walked over to their giant, archaic copy machine and literally felt like I had to act out the whole process to get her to understand. She finally did after failing twice to get correct dimensions where it wasn't 4 point font and unreadable or enlarged and two pages. Back in the day, a copy from a copy machine was 10 cents. In the end I think she ended up charging me for the copies she messed up on , as it was 24 cents. I don't care about 24 cents or $3.00, the money is not the issue, that means absolutely nothing to me. It's really the principle of the matter. Wow, going out of your way to be rude AND overcharging people for petty things. Not a very good way of keeping customers or treating people in general. read more

Sent a 5 page fax was charged $7.65. I politely asked the gentleman who owns the store why it was reasonable to charge that much and he basically told me to pound sand. I have to say they lost a customer that day! Life is too short for rudeness and being overcharged. read more

Had a P.O. Box for my business there for years, they were top of the line friendly & professional, amazingly used to welcome me by my first name. Ended up moving due to a new P.O. Box franchise opening up much closer to me, but have suffered ever since. Convenience is great, but I do miss the much higher level of service I received from this UPS Store franchise! read more

This is the absolute BEST UPS store in the area! Up until 2 years ago I had a post office box with them but I still use them for anything else that I need. The staff is SO helpful,friendly, patient,professional and they have a great sense of humor! The people here are awesome. I have a mailbox here and they always remember me even if I haven't been in for awhile. They are organized and always have a great attitude. Some of them have worked there since I got my box two years ago which is really nice and says something about the store and owner. It's to the point where I'm not sure I'll ever get rid of it. It's so convenient to have my packages always signed for and getting a text when they arrive. Also, it cuts down on the junk mail I receive. I love this store! Thanks guys. read more

I've been to several locations over the years and this store (by Starbucks and Barnes and Noble in Encinitas), is, without a doubt, THE BEST! Jordan and his staff are, in a word, AWESOME! In addition to the mundane tasks of shipping (at which they are very good), they also do my business cards, clients mailings and even my construction site banners! I had a special package for my sister in a far away location and needed that extra touch. And guess what....they have it, can do it and did it with a smile. Package arrived on time and in good shape. Check then out for a lot more then just shipping. Color copies are some of the most affordable in town. Jordan and the team are first class. I paid for Notary and postage and the package never arrived...I felt really awkward walking out of there and I will not return to the unprofessional un-service they offer. The courtesy and professionalism demonstrated at this location is tremendous. I've almost always had an ultra great experience there. Recently, I was blown away by their top-notch customer service. I had a return shipping label sent to me via email from an Internet marketplace vendor who filled incorrectly. The shipping label was actually for the USPS. I don't have a printer. When I arrived at my local USPS facility, they told me under no uncertain terms could they print my label. So, instead, I went to the local UPS store, which I've used on various other occasions, knowing that they can print labels for a small fee. I told them the irony in me asking them to print the label, and felt a slight bit of embarrassment. Not only did the clerk print the label for me, the person handed me a label protector for the package. I was stunned by the generous gesture-- though small, it went a long way (note: I'm writing this). I'm certain the USPS would've made me pay for that extra small piece of plastic. Needless to say, I will continue doing business with this location as long as they continue treating their customers with dignity and kindness. read more
