The people at the UPS store are always so helpful and friendly! I'm so thankful they are in our neighborhood!

I usually come here because it's close to home, but after being turned away at the San Carlos location for needing two pieces of tape, I'm a customer here for life. As a business owner, I believe in rewarding the right businesses rather than bashing the bad ones. The team here--specifically Saeed--is incredible. They never hassle you, they have a great attitude, and they get you in and out fast. Thank you for not denying paying clients over a piece of tape. Keep up the great work! read more

I came to this UPS Store for a drop-off and arrived shortly after 10:00 AM, which is the posted opening time on the door. Unfortunately, the store was still closed and unattended at 10:30 AM, with no note or explanation posted. This was frustrating, especially since customers rely on the posted hours to plan their day. If the store is opening late, there should at least be a sign on the door or an update to the hours to avoid wasting people's time.I hope management addresses this and improves communication around opening times. read more

A busy store because they do everything you'd expect. Amazon returns are quick. The staff has pretty constant turnover and no one there seems like they're having a very good day but they're helpful and you're in and out in a hurry. My pet peeve is the inconsiderate employees take the parking at the curb in front of the business so if you've got packages and children you're left to cross traffic. read more

Disappointed. I come in 30+ minutes before closing to get an item to be packaged and shipped. The male staffer was not willing to help. The offered to come in the morning. Fortunately, I was not in desperate need to ship the item. If you REALLY need to use their service, I guess you can but personally I would pass on this location. read more

I had 2 of the same items to return to Amazon. I found out from Kevin at UPS, Amazon return code only provides one shipping label. He was kind enough to do all the communications with Amazon, which took about 30 minutes! Kevin provided excellent customer service! You don't find that level of service in many places anymore. read more

Generally never had much of any issue with them, and I shipped out quite a lot of stuff regularly at times. Staff is nice and helpful. One star deducted more for UPS policies and rules than anything specific to the site... for one, I learned to never trust the rates UPS quotes online... if you take it to the shop they'll always charge you... surprise: more! I'm saying this because I have not made the same experience with FedEx. And two, for this branch, if your parcel is above a certain value (don't remember exactly - $1500 or so?) and you try to buy the label and ship there - they'll refuse and you have to trek up to UPS in SSF. Note that if you buy the label elsewhere, eg through ebay, you can ship positively any value and drop it off with them. Doesn't sound like UPS trusts their own franchises? read more

Easy place to find, park, and drop off a package (it was an Amazon return). No lines inside, the place seemed clean & organized. The service person was efficient & cordial. I walked in, she asked me to scan the package, I dropped it off, she processed it, and I was on my way. Couldn't ask for more. When I tried to do this at another UPS location, I found it hard to park, I had to wait in line, and there was a little bit of confusion as to what I needed to do. Not here, I was in & out in 10 seconds, and I will always bring my UPS packages here. Easy peasy! read more

Saaed is always incredibly helpful and friendly. He's excellent at multitasking, and his work ethic truly stands out. The service was excellent . I walked into the store and there were 4 people ahead of me. I thought for sure it would be 1/2 hour or more. Evelyn helped all of them within 7 minutes. She shipped , pulled , taped faster than anyone I've seen. I asked her her name and told her I've never seen service this good. She smiled and told me her name. I used UPS to send a passport to oversea to get a visa processed. The person delivering my envelope left an "attempted delivery" note on the door of the visa processing center. That day I got an email saying my package was delivered. Fast forward 3 weeks, I find out my package was held in a facility waiting to be picked up by the visa center and they never showed. This led to my package being delivered back to San Mateo. This really is a problem with A. the visa center not being responsive B. the UPS online portal giving inaccurate updates via email. I contacted the UPS customer helpline and they suggested I go to my local USP store. While my problems were not a fault of the San Mateo UPS store, the manager patiently listened to my concerns and refunded the cost of my delivery. This UPS store will not get reimbursed from UPS corporate, but the manager went above and beyond to help me out. Originally I went into the situation very skeptical of how I would be helped, but I was impressed by how them dealt with my problem and I really appreciate it! read more

Worst customer service today. I've been coming to this store for years and service has usually been good if not great. Today however I needed to get a livescan fingerprint for work. I know the owner does it. When I walked in he said "I can't do it right now I'm on my lunch break." I asked him when he would be free. He said "Maybe in an hour." Maybe? He said "Depends on how long I take for lunch." Asked him if it would be easier to set up an appointment for later in the week? His reply "I don't do appointments. You'll just have to come by and see if I'm available." No thanks. With service like that I'm never coming back to this store. Horrible, rude interaction. read more

The workers here are super nice! In the past two weeks I've needed to mail some packages and do several live scan fingerprintings for my new job. It's not a fast process but the workers get it done and are very friendly. Whatever you need, they'll take care of it! If possible come in the morning. It gets pretty busy around 3PM. read more

I had to return a package for a refund, and it being of high value and fragile, knew I needed some help managing the shipment. The staff went above and beyond to help me! They packed my item better than I could have ever tried on my own, consulted me in my shipping options, and helped me feel fully confident that my package would be well cared for (and it was)! AVOID/BEWARE: "LOST" PACKAGES. Been coming here for years without issue, but never again. Dropped off 3 pairs of shoes and got a receipt acknowledging that they received all of them. They were never scanned again, i.e., they never made it on a truck. Filed a claim online/over the phone and after an investigation they were deemed to be unrecoverable. Luckily 2 were returns so I wasn't liable and the merchant still refunded me. The last pair I sold on a marketplace and used their prepaid shipping label, so when UPS allegedly cut a reimbursement check it was sent to the marketplace and not me. Despite numerous calls to both company's customer service I never received reimbursement and obviously will never get my shoes back. Will be going to the UPS on either Bovet Rd, 41st or 2nd now exclusively. read more

Arrived today at one pm for an appointment for notary service scheduled on line through the UPs store website for which I received a confirmation email. Not particularly polite or concerned young woman behind counter informed me the person I needed had just gone to lunch and I'd have to come back in an hour. When I informed her I had an appointment she just said "o well, come back in an hour". Poor choice of business practices as there are three other UPS stores within a five minute drive and the people at the Foster City Boulevard store are very polite. I visited the UPS store in Foster City to print out 11 x 17 color prints of my pdf floor plans for my work as an architect. Earlier in the day I had tried to print the same floor plans at the Fedex store in San Mateo and was dissatisfied with the results. The colors were faint and the resolution was poor. After a few unsuccessful attempts at printing the images at the UPS store, the clerk Evelyn came to assist me. Evelyn came through for me and printed clear, colorful print outs!!! Thank you Evelyn!!! From now on when I need color prints, my go-to will be the UPS store in Foster City! read more
