Every time I've shipped things from here or had to drop off returns there is an issue. It's an absolute nightmare. Dropping my engineering kit off at any other UPS or FedEx is never an issue. I come to this location and there is always a problem. Amazon returns forget about it. They have tried to charge me multiple times for extra packaging even when I have had everything boxed and labeled. They just want to over charge/ make money off of you in any way possible. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Business owners response is hilarious. Sir you are trying to charge for packaging when the return is already free and my engineering kit is covered by company insurance and a shipping account. I've used this UPS store before to return my Amazon items. On this particular visit, I returned a HP LaserJet ink cartridge that I had purchased from Amazon. I received it on Saturday March 14th and initiated the return process in which I received a QR code from Amazon. I went to the UPS store the following day on Sunday, March 15th and the young man at the counter scanned my QR code and said you're good to go. I thought wow, that was quick and fast service and left the store a happy customer. That was short lived! Not thinking to check my phone soon as I left the store to see if I had received a confirmation stating my return to Amazon was initiated, later that evening I noticed I never received any message regarding my return of the ink cartridge. I contacted Amazon and they have no record of any return for me from UPS. I called UPS and the gentleman that answered the phone said I should've received a confirmation that my return was initiated. So my questions are...what did he scan and what happened to my ink cartridge? This leaves me wondering is this some kind of scam? I'll know next time if I return something to ask for a paper receipt and check my phone immediately. I'll chalk this up as a loss, but if you're reading this, make sure you get a confirmation before you leave the store. read more

Though it is a very small store, it does have everything you need to ship packages and it is in such a convenient location. It is sometimes very crowded and there seems to be a lot of lazy people parking in the fire lane but otherwise this little store is great for mailing out packages, making copies or returning Amazon items. They are always helpful. read more

Should have read the reviews of this store before now. Dropped off a pre-paid label package of some value. They refused to give me a receipt, telling me they are a franchise and their policy is no receipt. So, as they advised, I put the tracking number in the app to verify that I would have proof they received it. That's when they told me there wouldn't be a status until they sent it to a warehouse. From the haphazard pile in the corner. I took the package to a different UPS location, received a receipt and was advised to call customer service - as receipts are (obviously) something that should be provided. I'm still working on that - you have to be pretty motivated to call UPS customer service and speak to a human. read more

Best service ever. All the time, not just once. I will drive out of my way to go here because they're that amazing. Whenever I need something shipped, they are speedy and efficient. Some places I can sometimes feel bad about myself when maybe I didn't write the label correctly or am unsure if the available services, but they're always friendly and patient here. If you can opt to use another UPS store you should. I send Amazon returns back frequently and the clerk who is always there refuses to provide me a receipt. Today the clerk charged me for a shipping bag on an Amazon return that clearly directs customer to NOT package the item- hand unpackaged item to clerk and show them the QR code. It wasn't worth arguing about the bag, but I don't appreciate the bullshit. Avoid it if you can. Staff is dishonest. read more

Returned in May 2024 for the first time, wore a mask, and this time there was no hint of mask shaming. That's progress, guys. This time the mask was for cancer treatment that leaves me immunocompromised when in a small store with 10 people, as was the case. It's not only covid that makes people wear masks, guys. No chain-of-custody! Empty store. I'm the only one there. Manager refuses to give me a receipt for my pre-labeled package that was worth over $500. Told me to "just leave it on the counter". When I asked for a receipt, he told me to just go home and watch for the tracking to show it was received by him. Since I am intimately knowledgeable of chain-of-custody practices (my work) I tried to gently talk him through the logic of obtaining a receipt that shows I am no longer in possession of the package, and that he now has it. And I explained how I was uncomfortable walking out of his store without something that shows that I gave it to him. He responded by getting red faced and just repeating "we don't give receipts, just watch your tracking from home, we don't give receipts" over and over.....The Manager!!! In the end, I made him scan in the package and he agreed to show me his computer screen so I could confirm that the status changed to Package Received in the system. He still refused to print me a receipt. Completely useless! Not the way to run a package handling business. I can't believe that most packages get to where they are going with managers like this along the way. Save yourself the hassle and grief, go to your local UPS Drop Off Location instead! The wonderful, helpful, friendly employees at my CVS are more than thrilled to scan my packages and hand me a receipt! Hope this helps people out! read more

They do NOT give a receipt , Lost my package . I can not believe that UPS has not stepped in after looking at the reviews . There are more negative comments then positive comments . They are rude and clearly do not care about your package at all. I am beyond mad that they lost my package. Sold a set of vintage Honda Rims from 1969 . And poof, they just disappeared . Improvement required! I had an appt, stopped to get breakfast and then showed up at store at 835 am. Building is open and there is a line 6 deep, however no lighting on, employee and machines not up and running. He sates this but doesn't apologize or act as if this is his issue. It is! 830 am is listed as open time. Employees need to be there ahead of opening time and be ready to service customers in timely manner. I like the person. Been here before. I have been denied receipts with tracking repeatedly and when I ask for tracking I was instructed to take a picture of the screen. tl;dr In short, always get a receipt from the UPS Store as proof that you dropped off your package(s) in the event that the package(s) get lost. If they won't, call UPS Store Corporate to file a complaint (they're open on Saturdays too) at 800-789-4623, then press 3 to speak to an agent. You'll need the provide the QR codes or tracking numbers for the packages. UPS itself won't help you. They'll just direct you back to the UPS Store or the UPS Store Corporate. UPS and UPS Store are not the same business. In the case of returns to Amazon, an alternative is to return to a Kohl's department store if there's one near you. Kohl's is also open 7 days a week with longer hours than the UPS Store by me, which is closed on Sundays, has shorter hours on Saturday, and closes at 7 pm on all other days. There's a Kohl's by me but I haven't tried yet, but after this fiasco with the UPS Store, I will definitely do so next time and if it works out better, I will do so for all future returns. Like another reviewer has said, this UPS Store on Wormans Mill Rd in Frederick, MD refuses to provide receipts of dropped off packages. They used to give receipts a while ago but stopped doing it. Never really mattered to me until it did matter. Without a receipt, there's no way to prove to those expecting the package(s) that they were dropped off for shipping. If the packages never get delivered or there's no way to trace it back to you, you're out of luck with any refund on returned goods and, in my case, possibly double charged since these defective items were being returned and I already received replacements. So what happened was that I dropped off 4 packages this week at the UPS store on Wormans Mill Rd in Frederick, MD totaling almost $500 in merchandise (for which I already received replacements for the same dollar amount). I watched them scan the QR codes, print the labels, and applied them to all 4 packages. No receipt given. By the next day or so, I always get a notification that the refund was being processed but not this time. Two days after dropping off my package at the UPS Store, UPS tracking still shows "Shipment Ready for UPS" meaning UPS is still awaiting the package. Called UPS, and the agent said UPS Stores are franchises and if I had a problem to deal with them directly or the UPS Store Corporate office. UPS couldn't help. The UPS agent asked me if I had a receipt and I said the store refuses to give receipts now. The agent said that refusing to give receipts was against policy and to not go to this UPS Store again until they do give receipts. I then called UPS Store Corporate and the agent stated that there's no valid reason for a UPS Store to not provide receipts. I gave the agent the UPS Store details so a follow up call could be made to owner of the UPS Store. I also filed a formal complaint that this UPS Store was refusing to give receipts. The UPS Store Corporate agent also stated that in the case of returns to Amazon, when packages get dropped off at a UPS Store, even if they have their own QR codes or tracking numbers, all the packages are loaded into a big crate along with other packages to be sent back in bulk to the Amazon but only when the crate is full. When shipped the crate gets one tracking number and all the packages in the crate cannot be tracked using their individual QR codes or their unique tracking codes, which could be a reason why receipts are not provided. But without the receipt, there's no way to prove to Amazon that you dropped off the package since it either never makes it back to Amazon or the packages can't be traced back to you. Again, if this UPS Store is still refusing to provide receipts, contact UPS Corporate to report this store and to file complaints at 800-789-4623, then press 3 to speak to an agent. You'll need the provide the QR codes or tracking numbers for the packages. read more

Stopped in about 30 minutes before closing time with a box loaded with stuff to send to my daughter in college. It would be her first care package and had some breakable items so I was concerned about careful packaging and it was Halloween themed, so I wanted it packed in a way that would be fun for her when she opened it. Many people would have run screaming from the building when they saw me coming with my box of goodies, decorations, and yes, orange and black markers to decorate the outside of the box! But the store clerk, CHRIS, was so kind and patient and helped make the experience great for me! He carefully packed the box, chatted with me while I decorated it, and never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. What a remarkable example of customer service! My daughter is in her first year of college so I'll be certain to visit this location again! read more

Beware this UPS store on Worman Rd in Frederick, MD will not provide a receipt when you drop off a package. They claim its not necessary since you can just track it online. That sounds great until you discover your package was never scanned into the system and they have lost it. Then you have no proof of dropping it off. read more
