I left a review of this place 4 years ago. I already hate this place and prefer to go to other UPS locations but decided to give them a second chance. I don't know if they have the same ownership. I went here to do a temu return. The lady scanned the item, printed the labels and THEN told me I needed to either box or bag the item. I asked if I can just get the label so I can package it and come back to another store. She said no it has to be there at that location and I have to come back today. Fine, I went to the car and put it in a white shopping bag ready to be taped up. She said no it has to be a brown bag or box. I could buy a bag yhere for $4.50. I'm not paying that on principle. At this point the lady was being rude to me telling me to calm down. If she communicated all of this earlier this could've been avoided. I feel like their practices are poorly communicated at best. The lady's attitude only made things worse and there was a younger girl tuat was much more helpful and friendly. She was actually trying to help. Avoid you were warned. read more

I like coming to drop off my Amazon packages here. Its conveniently located in my neighborhood, the services are quick and the staff is always friendly. Parking can get hectic of your parked on the ground level, however, if you drive up the ramp, the parking is open most of the time. You'll be in and out and on yoir way before you know it! read more

EDIT: I was incorrect in that they charged me $50. Rather, the total for the laptop BOX was $28. They also charged me over $3 to print out the shipping label since I didn't have it on my phone. This is still an outrageous ripoff - other places sell them for far less. FedEx won't charge me to print out a FedEx label either. EDIT #2: I made 2 visits to this store. During the first visit, they quoted me over $30 for the box and shipping label. I was unsure of whether or not my employer would reimburse so decided to come back a different day. When I came back the 2nd day, they did in fact quote me a figure around $50. I protested, saying that I was quoted around $30 the day before (still outrageous). After a LOT of haggling, they agreed to honor the original price. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had a prepaid label to mail my laptop back to my employer. I needed to buy a box to ship the laptop in which I was prepared to pay a reasonable amount. The location off Kalakaua charged me $50 for a BOX to ship the laptop in. Obscure location located on the outdoor, second floor of Palama Market in Honolulu. The address on Google Maps is correct but beware as parking is tight and the lanes, stalls are narrow. It isnt impossible to get in or out but requires patience. The main road is very busy so again, drive with caution. . UPS itself was easy to find with the posted signage. Separate entrance and exit doors. 4 registers and 1 staff member behind each one when I went to do business. Staff were friendly and quick. The posted shipping and office supplies in the store are relatively inexpensive. . Overall positive experience and if I can brave the stairs again Ill be back. read more

They are fraud all together. I was sending priority mail 2 days delivery. They would charged me $57 and I told them sorry but its to expensive and will go to post office. Then they change to $20, like they said post office charged. My letter didn't travel 2 days, or 3 days, but one week. From Monday to Monday. Don't trust them. They lying and they are dishonest. My letter was so important to get in 2 days or I would send it with regular mail. Even with regular mail will travel less than 8 days. read more

I bought some artwork and wanted to send it to Washington. I originally went to FedEx office and they wanted to charge me well over $200 however the lady was so rude that I ended up leaving. I came to UPS and lady was so extremely nice and helpful!! My total was less than $100 and I had the BEST service ever!! She packed it and shipped it!! I've been to the Palama Supermarket many times, but didn't even notice that they had an UPS store upstairs. I was here to drop off a box to be mailed back to Nike. Yes, I was so sad to be sending those kicks back but they were really hard to put on and didn't fit right. The system that they had going made it so easy to ship the box back. I just pulled up the QR code from my Nike app and they scanned it. They printed out a return label, stuck it on the box and handed me a receipt. I was in and out in five seconds. The two associates working were friendly. I saw that they also had mailboxes. When I asked about them the worker asked if I wanted a brochure. I'll be sure to use this location more often. read more

I found a tropical weight comforter at Costco for my daughter and needed to ship it. The staff at this UPS Store were very nice and super helpful. Shipping is expensive no matter where you are, but I didn't find it anymore awful shipping from Hawaii than across the mainland. Package was received on time and in perfect condition. read more

I'd like to say coming into this store was fantastic... I'd like to say that, but it was not. First of all, this business is on the second floor, no elevator and outside stairs. Maximum weight for UPS to ship is 150 lbs....try lugging something, anything even half that weight up a set of stairs. Parking lot is a big as a postage stamp, and that makes matters worse. And if you're going to operate a business, first ingredient for customer service is just be friendly, and nice, yelling (and I mean yelling) at those that walk into your business is never a good sign of management. And if a customer comes in with a box that requires a 12 inch strip of packing tape, don't tell them it's gonna cost two dollars, and make them walk to Don Quixote to buy their own packaging tape....And then shouting at a customer and telling them you're trying to make ends meet, over 12 inches of tape, is never a good thing. I will send my business now to the UPS store in downtown Honolulu, where the are nice, sweet, friendly and show aloha. Greeted once I walked in and the transaction was smooth. I always go here for my Amazon returns. Most of the low ratings are because of customers complaining that they have to pay for tape and boxes. HELLO people! Read the instructions when you are making a return. It will clearly tell you if you can simply drop off your item unwrapped or if you will have to wrap it yourself. If you are required to wrap It yourself, then do so at home before coming in to the store!!! Why should you feel so entitled that you can have FREE tape and boxes??? One of the women who works here is often unpleasant. I don't expect over-the-top customer service from a 30-second interaction, but I feel like she exudes bad energy over the smallest things. On one occasion, she handed me the wrong paper (a label instead of a receipt) and I didn't notice and started to leave. She stopped me when she realized I had the label, and oddly seemed to act like it was my fault, even though she had been the one to hand me the paper. I then asked for my receipt and she sounded pretty irritated when she exclaimed, "I already gave it to you!" before realizing she hadn't. Even IF she had already given me the receipt, the tone would still have been inappropriate. The location of this store is convenient, but I'll be driving further out to go to the Keawe store for a more pleasant experience. read more

This is the closest location that we have. Convenient! It's not that crowded when we went in here. This location ain't that big so I guess this one may be congested for some times. Anyways, return a hiking bag-pack to REI coz we ordered the wrong feature. And goodness we got the box because they charge people with unequal price. I find it too much ripping on customer's side. This is so sad. So anyways, we need to tape one side of the box to finalize the parcel and ready to ship, guess what? $3 for a tape. LoL. In the back of my mind at that time "greedy" is the only word I can describe them. But you have this option not to purchase it. Just a few cents or a $ for a few roll of tapes. So we opt that one. Unbelievable. & we just need a little tape just to close the box! Like every lil thing you need in here they almost charge it with no hesitation. This UPS Store is located upstairs of Palama Supermarket on Makaloa. It shares the same private lot. Stalls are kinda tight so don't be surprised if the ding fairy shows up. We didn't know this place existed till we had to return a couple of packages. This location popped up when selecting a location to drop off at and we figured it would be a good opportunity to buy some food from Palama Supermarket while we're there. If you're not good with stairs, I would suggest going to another location because there are a lot of stairs and the incline is a little steep for some. The store itself is a lot larger than I expected. There are ample workers and we were helped immediately when we walked in. From what we gathered, almost all the staff spoke Korean so very helpful for people who speak mostly Korean with limited English. One package had a label while the other had a QR code that the staff member scanned. It took multiple attempts for the QR code to go through but we were in and out of UPS in a jiffy. Good UPS Store option if you want to stop by Palama Supermarket and kill two birds with one stone. read more

They basic service, OK, ya, is how I fell. Located on the 2nd Floor. I do not know if there is an elevator. The parking at this spot is rather not fun nor perfectly easy as it should be. They said I had to package my own Amazon return, employee then taped it up for me without telling me of any charge, then after taping he said I'm going have to charge you for that. Considering the shop's convenient access and the friendly, helpful staff, this UPS Store has to be my favorite. As for convenience, there are no parking problems since you can park on the second floor there's always a place to park that is only steps away from their door. That was a big plus for me as a I had several large and heavy packages to send. I asked if I could use their trolley which they not only let me use, but on of the staff went to my car and carried it in for me. This was a relatively expensive shipment and the counter agent took time to explore various options that would save me money. And all this with smiles and aloha. Highly recommended and I wouldn't go anywhere else after my three trips there to ship out our move. read more

Summary: extremely rude manager, "Sunny" who made a simple return a demeaning experience. So I went to return some Amazon products, which I've done before with no issue. Sunny, who is apparently the branch manager, instantly snapped at me saying that my QR code was not big enough. After I resized it, she got more annoyed and said "brighter not bigger." No big deal, as I could understand her impatience. I was, after all, the only customer in the store on a Saturday afternoon. She then told me that I would be charged $2 for not taping up the box properly. No big deal. I asked to make sure that my other items wouldn't be charged the tape fee, because I'm pretty sure it did not need to be packed. Her response was for me to rescan so "she could check". I submit the qr code again, to which in full exhasperation she said "I did that one already". I replied that I thought we were checking the first one. The irony was not lost on me, as she rudely put her finger on some policy taped to the desk and colorfully asked "can I read?". I firmly responded that indeed I am able to read, but that I was simply asking for clarification. Sunny then looked around at the empty store, stared me down, and in her most managerial voice asked if I could please keep my voice down. She then rolled her eyes at me, and actually made a "pfft" noise as she walked away in disgust! I truly have learned my lesson. Not only will I be sure to brush up on my reading skills, but I will also be careful never to ask clarifying questions without first prostrating myself in obeisance lest I incur Sunny's wrath. Or I can just go to another UPS location, which I suggest you do as well. read more

I would never use UPS ever again. I was told by the UPS driver it was at the customer center for pick up. I went there to pick it up. They told me there was no such package with my name on it. I needed a tracking number. I got the tracking number. I went back there and lo and behold. The package is sitting on the counter just a little bit of effort on their part, and it would've saved a lot of runaround on my part. perfect example of lazy customer service. I paid $350 to have the package shipped. But they wouldn't take five minutes of their time to look on the shelves for a package with my name on it. Their attitude sucks. There's a reason this place has bad reviews. It's the horrible customer service, plain and simple. I arrived at UPS seeking to send out some amazon return packages. One of the packages was able to be sent out hassle free (box and tape being supplied by UPS). Now, the second package, that's where the headache happened. The first Korean lady I approach says, you need a box for the return. I ask, how much is the box? She explains it's $10 for a box. So I go down stairs and find an empty box being thrown out by Palama (Korean grocery store). I head back up to UPS thinking that's it, I'm good to go. Nope, the same lady says it'll be $2 for tape service. Tape service. I get it but I don't get it. I head back down stairs, go inside the grocery store and luckily the cashier was gracious enough to tape by box for me. Super kind lady. I head back up and speak with a different lady this time. She points out that I may have enclosed the shipping label inside the box I'm sending out. Boink, oops. From there, she ignores me and walks off. I ask her if she's going to help me, she ignores me. I ask another lady, she says she'll help me this one last time. As that happens, the lady that ignored me starts talking crap, as if I can't understand what she's saying in Korean. Big mistake. Theeeeeen the lady that says she'll help me "this one last time", starts lecturing me on how I should carry around tape, making me feel even more stupid about the accident. The only reason I gave two stars and not one is because they sent out my package "the one last time". You've lost a customer for life. Over what? Tape? Nope, horrible customer service. read more

Dropped off some Amazon returns and they wanted to charge $2 for tape. One of my boxes was already in a box and they didn't care if it was taped. The other was in a self contained box that wouldn't open unless you pried it open and she was concerned that it didn't have a tape on it so wanted to change $2 for a piece of tape. Inconvenient steep and narrow stairs should of tipped me off that the customer service would be subpar. Don't go to this location if you can help it. read more

I had gone here many times over the last 5-7 years. Service was always pretty good, no problems. I came here twice this past month and now although it is the most convenient, I wont go back. Both times I came recently the lady told me that my amazon returns were not packaged properly, but NOT in a kind way. My items were in the original amazon box, never opened. She barked at me to take out my phone and read the instructions because she wasn't amazon... my nephew was with me. When we left we ended up just laughing it off because the experience was very odd to say the least. I had to go again for the second time that week and my nephew joined me once again. The ladies were super unkind. I packed it nicely. They said it would be retuned because the mail wouldn't accept the recycled box with the markings that were on it. Okay, that may or may not be true but I appreciate the tip! She asked me to open the box to let her see, even though I had already told her what was in it. I didn't want to open the box because I didn't bring tape, which I told her. I ended up opening the box anyway. I turned the box inside out (her suggestion) and had to buy their $7+ tape to re-box it. VERY frustrating but I needed to return it. Upon my exiting, she told me to NOT bring my attitude next time and that I was a bad influence on my child.... I responded with he isn't my child... then she called me a bad person multiple times. I just smiled and said, "Okay I'll write a nice review". Never say never but my plan is to not come here again! Which I do know isn't really a loss to the store. I REALLY try not to write bad reviews because I know people have bad days but I hope that in writing this the owner/manager sees it because there may be a problem at this UPS location. read more
