Back in September, I sold my beloved Diamond Head condo after 5 years of making Oahu my part-time home. The UPS store on Waielae Ave. was so incredibly helpful in shipping a number of boxes for me during the final week before closing. They even had a pickup service, which saved me precious time as I was scrambling to get things done during my final week there. They helped to repack a few boxes that were not totally secure and did this at no charge. Their staff was super helpful and I can't thank them enough for helping to reduce the stress of moving off the island. All my things made it back to Salt Lake City safely - except one box which had a piece of framed art - but this was the fault of the actual carrier and not the store (this is the box they helped to repack and it was solid. I think the carrier just abused it during transit). If you need a local shipper, give this UPS store a try! read more

I feel kind of silly reviewing a UPS store but just wanted to warn everyone-- you have to tape up your boxes! They charge $1 for a strip of tape if you don't tape it beforehand or you need it reinforced. I'm certain this must be a UPS policy, but it took me aback. We just moved from the mainland and at our old UPS, they always helped us with tape and making sure the package was secure, without charging. Also parking is not great but there's fast turnover if you wait it out. I've always managed to slip into a spot. All in all, for you fellow impulse Amazon buyers, it's not a bad spot to do your returns. read more

Good service and priced well. Brought in a keepsake that we had prepared for shipping. We thought it was packed well but the staff said they were going to repackage it for us. Long story short, they did an excellent job in preparing our treasured keepsake for shipping. The delicate artwork arrived in one piece without any damage. The staff was very insistent that they repack our items. Luckily we listened and everything arrived in perfect condition. Check them out. I've been using this UPS location since 2019 for all of my inter-island shipping. Service has always been great. Sometimes there's a line, but I don't think I've waited for more than a few minutes. Yes parking can be a hassle depending the time of the day, mostly due to a few of their neighboring businesses being restaurants. read more

Charging for tape? Really? For "using your supplies"? But yet I can bring an Amazon return in without a box and am not charged. You're making money on shipping, it's ridiculous to charge customers for a few pennies worth of tape. What a terrible policy. I'll take the box home and tape it myself and arrange for my UPS driver to make a special trip. Very efficient. read more

I was able to drop off an Amazon return, a USPS package and make copies all at this one store. It was easy and convenient.

I would compare this business as a mall security Paul Blart-esque character to actual law enforcement--law enforcement being the actual UPS (in this analogy). Meaning, the facade they portray wearing a uniform with the UPS trademarked logo--quite misleading as they are only subcontractors who don't share any UPS resources. They couldn't access any details about my package, even after I provided them with the tracking number--this information is likely above their pay-grade. Long story short, UPS delivered our package to a non-existing numbered address further down the street from us. Mind you that this package was an international parcel, which by requirement must include our contact number on the customs forms. I've been told UPS doesn't make calls due to privacy concerns... o'really? The recipient of the parcel attempted to return the package to The UPS Store (Kahala), but was met with refusal and denied. Out of frustration, they left the package outside the door to this business--so I've been told (by neighbor) and eventually confirmed with the store. The UPS Store is more than capable to coordinate a pickup from UPS, or facilitate some logistical solution, but as the name suggests: (U)nder (P)aid (S)taff doesn't really care--why should they, right? The employees here all looked pretty miserable. Now let's just hope that the claims department are better paid. read more

Went on a Sunday to drop off an Amazon return. Most can be done at Whole foods but if delivered by UPS then return via UPS. I've tried several locations, hawaii kai was always excellent, the one behind palama mkt nr Kaheka was OK. This one was great. So fast and efficient! Will be back if needed! read more

Another worker pointed out that a white shirt could not be used as the background was white. He had suggestions on how to fix the problem which we thought was great. Super nice staff to show you what to do if you're clueless...like ME! ;) made my way in there today with just one person ahead of me, told them I needed to get one copy off my flash drive, they didn't even charge me to use my flash drive like another ups location did! So made my one copy from .pdf it was just $0.10 :) save $$$ here! Super awesome experience and I will be back for future copies! Update: been here least 8 times since my review and each time has been a real pleasant visit from photocopying to notaries! I like the staff and if you're lucky you'll score good parking too. Normally everyone is super nice at this specific location. However Jody, who seemed to have a bad day already, charged me a packing fee for the Amazon return when the label said just drop off the item. Highly recommend to avoid her or make sure you seal everything when you return. read more

This review is long overdue, but I am still counting my blessings for the amazing service that Cody provided when I had to ship many cherished items from my parents' home to the mainland after they moved out. It was an overwhelming time for me, and there were too few items to warrant a professional moving company. However, there was a carload of many fragile items that I needed ship out. Cody patiently worked with me and had creative and thoughtful suggestions to help minimize the cost. He took great care in packing each heirloom, and 100% of everything arrived safely! I often go to this location, all the staff is nice, except for the short hair old lady that I forgot I ask her name. I went to return my item which was packed in an amazon package and she told me to unpack the item and buy another package from the store. I agree that for some reason she doesn't want to accept my old box, but she can talk nicely. However, the way she speaks is so rough, she almost yelled at me. It was so rude, and the worst customer service ever. Never going back here. read more

Drove here from town on a Friday after confirming they had a notary public on hand. There were 3 or 4 other UPS locations closer to me that were not able to notarize at the time. They were quick, helpful, and reasonably priced at $5. read more

Best of the best !! Been holding a mailbox here for 2+ years and the service here is superb ! I'm greeted by name when they aren't servicing customers and sometimes even when they are. Everyone working here are pleasant, approachable and always professional. If I receive a lot of parcels, they always ask if I need help if they are available and not servicing other patrons. In these uncertain times, finding a group that do it RIGHT is refreshing ! Keep up the good service and professionalism you guys and gals ! The staff are all really friendly and super-efficient. Whenever I have to return an item to an on-line store, it takes only seconds for them to scan it, hand me a receipt, and I'm out of there. They are great at packing delicate items and I'm confident that the package goes straight to the destination and doesn't get put on a slow boat or end up in Europe. The parking can be tight around mealtimes, but if you have to wait inside the store, the time is minimal even if there is a line. The afternoon UPS truck comes around 5. While I don't normally use the UPS Store for my shipping and mailing needs, I located this UPS Store across the street from Kahala Mall. They are located at the Assiago Square, next to Nails La Vie and Lanikai Juice. I know that UPS delivers, so it makes sense to use them when you need to. They have pretty good arrangement of products and services to choose from. Whether you are there to ship something to someone or receiving something, the UPS Store has got you covered. I found myself here in need of shipping something fragile to friends on the mainland. While I usually trust my stuff with the United States Postal Service, I needed that extra protection that the postal service does not often have. The service was fast and dependable. While I know that the Postal Service is awesome too, I found that the UPS is great too. The downside of it is that they cost about double for what I would normally use with the US Postal Service. The facilities here were somewhat disorganized, but I'm sure they were undergoing some renovations at the time, so that's cool. There are friendly staff who helped me with my purchase that afternoon and that's pretty awesome. They're exactly just like the United States Post Office and Fed Express - which all of them are delivery services for a fee. They will get your item(s) to wherever you would need to go to, with professionalism and quickness like you would never believe. I didn't know they had notary services here at the UPS store. I always thought that the notary services were more for banks and other financial institutions. That's gold. *thumbs up* A+ read more

Jody and her crew are awesome! Every time I walk in, they greet me by name, even if they are helping someone else. I receive a lot of large packages there and they always offer to help me to my car. I don't like to bother, especially when they are busy, but they will take the time to help me anyway. I only make use of their mailbox service, but I see a lot of the other things they do for other customers. If I ever needed those types of services, I would definitely go there for it. read more

I did a really newbie thing today when I went to return an Amazon purchase at the Kahala store. I wanted to return a purse that I didn't like but instead grabbed an Amazon package that was a pair of earrings for granddaughter! I felt "sick" since there is a price difference but it's so close to Christmas! Sienna helped me both times and she and her fellow employee were able to help me! I come to this location when I need to drop off packages with pre-paid shipping labels. I like this location because they have parking. There is always 2 staff on duty so they're quick. Sometimes, the wait takes long if the customer brings in an item and they're trying to get the staff to help them package it and figure out the most cost effective shipping method. read more

I go to this store for its convenience and ease of parking. Staff are always nice and helpful and it's also great that they have a USPS counter too! They can print out my shipping label and send it off instead of my searching for a place to print my label and than take it to the regular post office. read more

I usually use the UPS store on Kapahulu Avenue and have had nothing but great experiences. Walked into this one by Kahala mall and not only were the employees unfriendly, when I went to use a piece of tape to close my box they said it would cost me $1. That was an unpleasant experience and I'll go out of my way to use the Kapahulu store since it has a much more pleasant feel and all-around customer service experience. read more

Went in to mail a gift. Wanted the gift packed and shipped. Box would fit into a box about 15x15x15, total of about 5lbs to NY. The guy who helped me was ok, not great. Asked me weird questions I felt were inappropriate. What I mail is none of his business as long as it's not liquid, hazardous, etc. he flat out asked, "what's in the box?". Asked him for a price quote with packing, shipping and insurance he quoted me $249???? For a 15" square box, less than 5lbs and insurance to NY??? Really??? Over $200??? That is absolutely insane. It was painful talking to the cashier but even more painful hearing him say it would be $249. Went to USPS, got my own box, packed it myself and sent it insured to NY for half the price. This is the 2nd time I've gone to this UPS store and 2nd time they have quoted an insane amount for shipping. Sadly there will not be a 3rd time, so convenient but no thanks! read more

Horrible service on the phone. I asked about the 3D printing service and the person told me sarcastically, "Do you not have internet? You can't do this without the internet" when I ONLY tried to ask about the process. This was repeated at least 2-3 times. Yes, I could hear. I am not that old. Plus, what kind of question is that, in current times? I know we are in Hawai'i but it's not THAT bad here. It's a pure insult to assume that someone does not have access to internet, just because they don't know what a CAD file is. I am not informed in the field of 3D printing and was on the phone in place of a friend; therefore, I did not know what a CAD file was. If I were "selling" 3D printing, I would openly explain about it so the customer can get information and eventually use the service. Is it supposed to be an "exclusive" service? I don't think so. I called again later to clarify and the person still tried to give me the same attitude. I'm happy I didn't respond in the same manner and reacted differently. As a result, the person lighted up...a little, haha. Change starts from one person--can't control others but only your own reactions and actions! Learned my lesson but one thing for sure: never calling this place again. And NEVER ask someone whether they have internet, just because they don't know ONE thing. read more

Although there are other UPS stores closer to me, I still choose to travel a little farther for this one. The service is fast and professional here. The employees have always quickly answered any questions that I have had. The neighborhood is also really nice. It's in Kahala! I really only buy boxes from here and ship my occasional return from Amazon. Amazon really likes to use UPS for product returns. Plus shipping is free, so who am I to argue. I find it a little funny and I am slightly worried that the United States Post Office will one day be unhappy that I keep buying my boxes from here rather from them (UPS boxes have the "UPS" logo on them). I only do this because The UPS Store has such a large variety of sizes! I can almost always find the perfect size box that I need. If I can't, I just get a larger box and trim it down to the correct size. I used to buy a lot of boxes from GBC Boxes & Packaging. Since they've moved to Halawa, it is tough for me to justify the drive there for a box or two when I can drive just two miles to get here. The parking lot is usually half full to almost empty most of the time. I also really like the long business hours (open from 7am to 7pm). read more

I've been to this store 2 times. Most recently this weekend. The staff were very inattentive- when I asked a few questions about packing and shipping my package the clerk was rude and condescending- she said she was a trained packer and that I shouldn't be asking her questions about packing. I felt very uneasy as I was sending a package that was very delicate and easily breakable. She rudely then added that is why I should buy insurance. Both of my experiences are fairly consistent- rude, dismissive, condescending. I won't be back to this store. read more
