I travel for work; shipping out of franchise UPS stores in about 11 states, but by far, I wish the GM Mac J trained all of the stores. He's always been able to help and provide insight into increasing efficiency for my trips and reducing the time I spend in store. Sure, me knowing what's up makes it easier for his staff; but this is definitely not the same at every store. Locally, I used to do shipping at the Fairway and Prairie Village locations; but after needing some help and getting charged or shamed at these two locations, I will always hit up the Central store. It's so small, but their process just clears people out quick and happy. The GM is always there just cranking out business and helping folks out. Please have him train other locations. read more

Back when the volleyball nationals were being held I went in to ship a hard poster from the tournament back to California. The packaging that they had available was pretty expensive so Eric said he would help me out by taking it home and securing it with cardboard if I paid the shipping cost. I've never had an issue with this UPS before however, today was different. When I came in I checked in on Yelp there was a 10% off coupon. I showed it to the employee who said it was for online only however there was no code attached. When I asked how to use it he said he wasn't here to argue but would have to call UPS corporate. I'm not sure how that works when it popped on on the local UPS store location. I asked for him to call the manager because it didn't make sense and he said he was the manager. I'm not sure if there's new management since the update. He did end up recognizing the 10% coupon but I did not appreciate his service. I had a phenomenal experience at this UPS, specifically with Eric and Mac. I called ahead to this store after I experienced issues with the sensor in my car and my backseat where the sensor was being covered with bags and boxes of items from a move I was doing from Tennessee to Washington state. I was stressed and overwhelmed and needed help getting as many things shipped as possible, especially since I was far from home. I explained my situation to Mac over the phone and then in detail in person. He was very patient and kind with me, as was Eric. Mac packed every single item I brought in from my car into boxes and wrapped them all, ensuring that all items that were fragile were labeled and taken care of. He took time to lift every heavy box of books and glassware and packed it all away with no question or hesitation. I HIGHLY recommend this UPS store. For being right on the Plaza, this is about as easy and in & out as you can get. I've used them to ship returns and it took almost no time, which is prett-ay, prett-ay, prett-ay good. Shipping stuff is a minor pain so it's good to just get it over with. They've always been friendly and helpful in here, too. I popped in to grab some large boxes for my upcoming move and they were able to talk things through with me to make sure I was getting the right size and materials for what I was doing. So I'm moving back to California and decided to use UPS as my helpers. The store is really small and I thought that I would be faced with some issues, surprisingly not. Eric and Shawn went beyond helpful with my transaction. I brought in two grey totes (you would probably use to hold lots of toys) full of shoes and things. I thought I had to buy a box to place them in being that the lids could easily pop open but no. Eric stated that they would wrap it up well with tape before sending it off. I saved about $30 bucks on just boxes I assumed I needed. With the check in offer : 10% off with Yelp check in my total was $170 saving almost $20 bucks with check in. Soo grateful for that. The pleasant voice they both had with short stories made this transaction a breeze. I'll be back to send off another 3 totes. Thanks Eric and Shawn. read more

The store is fine, staff very helpful. This complaint is for the store manager/owner. I understand for your location if Amazon returns don't have a QPR code you can scan, I've gotta pay $2.50 for the return label to be printed - NOT COOL! This feels like discrimination for those who can't afford a printer. As a consumer on Amazon I don't get to pick if I get an email label to be printed or a QR code label. I've called Amazon and let them know my experience - they too were very surprised about that fee! There are enough challenges, hate and misery in the world - please consider dropping the $2.50. It's much safer for your staff to print labels vs them handling one more thing that increase their risk factor! read more

Went in to mail a small package overnight. Was told ups was my ONLY option. $84 was the price. I was skeptical because the us postal service has done the same size package for $30-40- was told by the owner that usps no longer did overnight or express service at all and They only do 2 day shipping. I left and went to a post office. Cost me $34 for express (one day) overnight shipping .it arrived by 3pm the next day Don't go here. They will lie to you and act like you're an idiot as well - go elsewhere. read more

A pretty terrible experience here when trying to ship a package. They may *say* UPS on their signage, and UPS may *stop* here to pick up all the packages they have laying around the lobby, but the store personnel don't trust you to ship to an *actual* UPS account and I struggle with the concept that they are not actually *connected* with UPS in anything but a name. They are basically a re-branded Mailboxes, Etc. - type store. To ship anything, they want cash on the barrelhead, and claim they don't have "access" to the UPS system for verifying shipper accounts (which is the dead giveaway that they're not actually part of UPS, the entity). Or, as the guy told me yesterday, they don't have a way to "validicize" a six-digit account number (is that even a word? the guy seemed pretty slow on the uptake). After thinking it would be a wonderful, painless experience to drop off the item I sold, and have them pack it and ship to the buyer's account, I walked away frustrated, un-shipped, and back to the drawing board. I'll go elsewhere for my packing and shipping needs. Meanwhile, I gave them an additional star because it is a convenient place to drop off your pre-printed UPS packages (such as Amazon returns). Fortunately, you don't have to interact with any humans in that case...just drop your ready-to-go package in with the pile that consumes the front part of the store. I'm frustrated with their attitude and won't be back. read more

Had difficulty facing paperwork due to continuous busy signals from the receiving fax. The staff continued to try everything they could to get it to go through. Came back the next day to ship a package right before close and they were friendly, even helped me cut a box down as they had ran out of the smaller box I was looking for. Good prices as well. I went to this ups store and was over charged for a notary! I was charged $25 for one signature! As well as having to ship something to watch the owner open a package and take stuff out! And put it in his bag! Do not trust this place they will steal your stuff! read more

Even though the adjoining construction makes it difficult to get in and out the owner has gone out of his way to make sure it is not interrupting business. I take all my mail and Amazon packages their. I leave town and no worries that my packages are safe and waiting. At my condo I see a lot of packages lying around or thrown at the front of the building. Not sure all these end up in the right hands. Having a mailbox at the ups store gives me peace of mind. read more

As the shipping specialist was patiently going over the mailing/cost options with a couple in front of me, I was thinking about how to quickly explain my need to return a package. I also needed to reprint my shipping label since the one I had took a full 8.5"x11" sheet of paper, so I brought in the file on my thumb drive, hoping they could do a reprint for me. As the couple in front of me left, the specialist, Eric, gladly took my return and my shipping label and said that he's got it covered. No complications. No need to get the file from my thumb drive. I entered the store today very frazzled, trying to mail back a package to a company with horrible customer service (which was going to cost me a pricey penny). Eric was AMAZING. He was able to get the cost down significantly by repackaging the item into a smaller box. His polite and calm demeanor were unparallel. I get to visit Eric and his energetic Crew a few times a week because we have out business P.O. box in that store. While things can get hectic - especially around the Holiday season - they always go out of their way to be friendly and helpful as possible. Stumbled on their yelp page while searching for something else. Never thought to review my local UPS store because everything is always smooth there, but read a couple of the reviews and thought I would add my 2 cents. Yes they are official - just locally owned (check out the web site) and i know it is hard to believe but yes they can not ship using your or someone else's corporate account. (Actually if you have ever had to deal with UPS corporate it is not hard to believe). However, print off a label using your corporate account at home or have the shipper email you a PDF and you are good to go. (I bet Eric and his team would even let you use one of their computers to do it if you forget). Give them a shot. Location is great and they are a friendly bunch. read more

I went to this store to mail jewelry to a friend. I arrived at 8AM. I watched the associate print a label, put it on the box and place it behind the counter. They said expect delivery in two day. Two days pass and my friend has not received the jewelry. I go to track the item and it states that a label was made at 6:28PM. It also states that the package never left this facility. I called, they then called a non local UPS store to get more information, I never received a call back. I called again, they called a non UPS store, but this time I did get a call back from UPS saying they would start an 'investigation'. It has been 10 days since the 'investigation' started and no one has called to update me on the progress. So I hopped on UPS.com and found a claims dashboard. Apparently they closed the investigation. I have not been contacted by anyone to let me know the outcome of this. I am extremely disappointed with UPS. The items that I sent were worth a few hundred dollars. So now I am at a loss in money and a loss in property. Also, the busy signal that you read about in most of these reviews is real. I can't call the store most of the time due to it. Do NOT trust this store or UPS in general. read more

He called the Brookside store to see if their truck has left yet. So I went to this store to try to overnight an enevelope that was lest than 3 oz. They quoted with UPS at about $53.00 and USPS at about $35. They told me that UPS was guaranteed and USPS was not guaranteed. The woman at the counter repeated the 'Guaranteed" part like 2 or 3 times. I told her that I would go to the USPS and they would likely guaranteed the package since it was going to a major city on the west coast. Well went I got to the post office I was able to send my package for about $19.00. If you must ship, make sure that you do some research because this store seems to be ripping off customers. I will not ship from here. It's is my understanding that this store and the one in Brookside Plaza are owned by the same person. read more
