I have asked the manager of this store, several times over the last several months, to resolve a very simple problem for me. I no longer receive an email confirmation of my package drop off (with the tracking number) . Should not be a huge deal to resolve, right? Perhaps a few calls from this UPS store to corporate, or perhaps even some competent in-store service could solve this issue pretty quickly. Keep dreaming I guess. Incompetence is one thing though. That I am intimately familiar with and find forgivable. My problem with this store is the jagoff manager and his rudeness. I called the manager this morning to request his help resolving this issue. He told me he'd look into the issue and requested I call back within the hour if the problem wasn't resolved . I did call back because he was unable to resolve the issue. Today I went to get two documents notarized at this location and I had an awful experience. Ben, the notary, questioned my identity and didn't believe that my drivers license was mine because my signature didn't look enough like the one on my license. Then, he almost refused to notarize my document simply because my name was not on that specific page of the document when my name was listed multiple times on the other two pages of the document. I'm not surprised this store has a low star rating. I attempted to return an Amazon package, key word attempted. I needed a bit of tape to seal the box. Mind you, I've gone to multiple ups locations, with a box still open, and they had no problem taking it up. Most of the time they just took the box, put it in back, and handed me a receipt. With the rise in gas prices, perhaps they're now trying to save a few cents. The young lady "lady" helping me, was rather rude. I had a negative experience with Ben this afternoon. I can in to have a paper notarize after speaking to him on the phone. Upon arriving there he asked me if I had a photo ID which I did not as I just received a ticket last week. Although I did have a copy of my DL on my phone for him to see. He proceeded to ask me if I had a passport. Now seriously who carries their passport with them? I took an Uber there being my car was in for service and had to get this notarized today. Not only was the Uber expensive to and from the UPS Ben was not accommodating to my situation. There was a need of urgency in this situation and he said "I should of told you over the phone to bring a photo ID". This is my go-to UPS Store for everything they can do! The help is great and everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Everything from simply dropping off a package to completely custom printing...they are always terrific. I've seen the care they all take with packaging and it's impressive. I've had them do business printing and printing for non-profit organizations. They really know what they are doing. The most rude and unhelpful experience I've ever had at a UPS store. I've returned a LOT of Amazon purchases and never had to package/tape them up before. I brought in two items for return, both in boxes. According to said employee, one of the two was required to be taped "per Amazon" but the other was not. She wanted $1 for a 2" piece of tape. Zero explanation of why. Then when I had USPS packages to drop off (which other UPS locations gladly accept) she tried to suggest I should take them elsewhere and then said "fine, but we don't accept any responsibility for the tracking." I just want to applaud the male associate (maybe he was the manager idk) who confronted a customer who was not wearing an appropriate mask, the customer was wearing one of those mesh masks that obviously doesn't do anything to protect others. The associate told him to put on a mask and handed him the box of mask and the customer refused and said he was wearing a "mAsKk". The customer then finally complied to put on a real mask. It's been a long time since I was this disappointed in a retail establishment. You know that adage, "the customer is always right"? Yeah, this group has never heard of it. NO - you can't do that here. NO - we can't help you NO - we are not able to look up UPS account numbers - did you see a big UPS logo outside or something?? YES - You can use our computer, for 2.50 - to print your shipping label for $300. of overnight freight. And yes, I get it. These are not UPS corporate stores - they are franchisees, still bitter that Mailboxes, Etc sold them out. Well, with any luck this location won't make the next round of cuts - or at least with a little luck the staff from Panera will pop over to teach them some customer service skills. But, I doubt it, probably chase them out too. read more

I've always been really happy this UPS store is in my neighborhood. The team in Libertyville is always friendly, and the manager always remembers me and asks about my family. I personally do not think this UPS store deserves such a low review. I was just here today to drop off a package for shipping, it was Saturday morning, and for Saturday morning, I'd have to say the workers are quite enthusiastic. I was greeted immediately after I walked in, the store clerk was very helpful, explained to me the different programs that UPS has to offer, so that the next time I would not have to go all the way to Palatine to get a will call package. The store clerk even helped me to seal up my package and said he will take care of the rest. Honestly, I have not experienced such courtesy since I used my school's postal service. I guess after going to the USPS for a while, you feel like other shipping carriers are god-send. read more

My husband needed to return some furniture we bought from Macy's. He brought the label that Macy's supplied for the return . The UPS Store employee informed my husband that 1. The label was incorrect 2. The box didn't look like something Macy's sells (like my husband is lying?) 3. The item was going to end up back at our house. (No, Macy's accepted delivery today.) 4. Macy's only paid $2.00 in shipping and should have paid $100.00. I see several complaints about a rude, abrasive employee, and I suppose this is the man who "assisted" my husband. I also see that the owner of the store is surprised by all the complaints about this employee. Add this complaint to the pile, I guess. This is the store where the customer is always WRONG! RESPONSE to the business's response: Most people understand the difference between making helpful suggestions and being a jerk. I would give this UPS Store negative reviews if I could. I have shipped from UPS Stores all around the nation, and this one, by far, has the worst customer service. There is one employee there who has the most abrasive personality I have ever come across. He is ugly to everyone, and I am shocked that he has been able to work there for as long as he has. They are never willing to offer solutions or be flexible much less willing to offer an apology. After repeatedly trying to use this UPS Store I have completely given up.
