Joel is a rock star!! I accidentally left my packed suitcase at our rental house and didn't realize it until we were at the airport (with no time to go back for it). I called Joel's UPS Store without the first clue as to how I might get my suitcase home and as soon as I explained my wacky situation Joel offered to swing by the rental office and pick it up for me so we could figure out the rest! A few minutes later I had a receipt for the box and shipping, and within 48 hours my suitcase was at my doorstep on the mainland. When my relative on Kauai passed away suddenly, I had a ton of stuff to ship to the mainland and all over but no idea of where to start. Joel, Hoku and all the staff were incredibly helpful with everything, from helping me pick out the right size boxes and tubes, explaining and doing the Pack n'Ship for a large number of framed paintings, letting me use their cart out to the parking lot, to helping with copies and notary services and suggestions on where to get lunch. I was a bit frazzled so it was very reassuring to be able to talk to and rely on local people who were genuinely interested in helping get the job done well. Everything arrived where it was supposed to, on time. The UPS email system notifications and email receipts were also a great help in keeping track. I hope to return to beautiful Kauai someday and when I do, I'll be sure to stop in here to say Aloha and mail something. They all did a fantastic job, and went above and beyond to be sure that a notary transaction from another state met all the requirements of both that state and Hawaii, so a tricky situation we place them in. The notary has been doing it for 10 years and was very professional, kind and patient. The office had perfect social distancing protocol for covid safety. Today I tried to print out a return bar code to place inside a package that I was returning to Amazon via UPS. My printer had run out of ink, so I stopped off at the UPS Store to ask if they could print one off for me. The female employee did not indicate how much it would be but proceeded to print one off for me. She then announced it would be $2.78. Although I paid it, I thought to myself, "are you kidding??? Less than a penny for a single sheet of printer paper and about 5.5 cents for the ink. And you want $2.78. They were also being paid for the shipping cost back to Amazon. This is ridiculous and certainly no way to win customers. On my way home I was thinking, "isn't this the same con-artist company that is supporting people to boycott the State of Georgia over it's voting laws? Asking for photo I.D.?" When I got home I googled it and yes they are. Here's a message for UPS from me; In my opinion, all Americans should boycott you. Maybe you should concentrate on running an affordable, customer friendly business instead of shooting off your mouth about politics. Today, I boycott you. Forever. read more

Being an author, printing is a daily task of mine and this copy store has become a weekly visit for me. Since moving to Kaua'i, I am always in our UPS Store by my home--sometimes twice a week. At first, I chose this particular store because it's in walking distance to my condo and I like to ride my bike at times. But what got me returning as a regular was this chivalrous move they make by opening the door when they see me, or anyone, entering. They are always super busy but they always make eye contact and notice you. From entering, I first notice the guy notarizing for folks off to the left... Beyond him, I notice people picking up their mail....and there is always a lady ringing folks up. I see a guy in the back packaging, and a guy taking copy orders and running multiple machines at the front counter. As soon as someone enters they are asked their need and then sorted to the proper machine or line. I have never been in there longer than 8 minutes. I have noticed that a very popular request is for their notary service. Something I wouldn't guess they offered. There's not been a time I've been in there that someone didn't walk in and ask, "Do you offer notary? I heard you did! I can't wait on my bank; they want me to make an appointment." On my last visit, four people walked in and asked for notary service. That is a service I can use as well. Now I know where to go. My daughter had a weird request this year and I ended up in there for advice. She wanted me to mail out her boyfriend's walking stick. The one he used "suffering" the NaPali Coast hike. It was just a bamboo stick but it was longer than a typical mailing tube. And, I wasn't sure how agriculture worked on shipping bamboo to Ohio. They took care of it all for me. So easy! Just one more shout out, and this is a biggie: Since our Puhi post office closed I did not want to drive into busy Lihue to get my mail. This UPS Store has mail boxes! TADAH! I can still walk to my PO Box and get all of my mailing needs taken care of at once. You don't need to fret if there's a lot of people walking into the store... they are all regulars who like the sincere service too. But you will get quicker service than you anticipated. The owner waits on you... his son is there all summer helping dad... and associates keep appearing to help out. And lastly, they are very honest about their services using a United State's priority box. Oh, I need to mention that it's in the mall! How sweet is that? Wedged between the new Ross store and Long's Drug Store in the Kukui Grove Center. (The food court is right behind it.) Aloha, Joel! Mahalo for the great service you have given me this year. My daughter was getting married in Poipu and I still needed to have her program printed. Unlike the Bay Area, there isn't a FedEX/Kinko's. All the printers are closed on the weekend and I can only imagine their prices. I call this UPS and Joel answers and says "yes" they can print the program. It's located in the Kukui Grove Mall. They need to resize it and duplex. It's a bit tough and it takes Joel a bit of experimenting. He's almost ready to send me to a real printer. And BAM - he figures it out and I AM A HAPPY Person! All the while, he's not fustrated, he's just a happy person. Customers are coming in an out and I'm noticing that the other two employees are just as happy. I had to ask if I could have some of "??" that made all three in such a great mood - dispensing one of the best customer service I've seen. First, if you are thinking of using the UPS store, be sure to go online first to get your own estimate. I was told my package was going to be $10 more than it said online. (I was finally able to get it mailed at the correct price.) MORE IMPORTANTLY: Make sure you ask to have daily, updated tracking information sent to you and check it several times a day. My package was being shipped from Lihue to the east coast. I was alarmed when several days into the shipment the tracking info told me "receiver called and asked for package to be held at UPS facility." Then later "Receiver to pick up package at UPS facility." I had told the "receiver"- a friend of mine, that I was mailing a package but had not given them a tracking number. It seemed unlikely anyone could have requested pickup at the facility without a tracking number. I called my friend and he said emphatically he had not called. My friend and I together made 7 calls to both UPS customer service centers (800-457-4022 and 800-742-5877) and we were told altogether there were THREE attempts to claim this package, two attempts on the west coast and one attempt on the east coast. In each instance, the caller used both my friend's name as well as the correct tracking number. One of the persons gave UPS a phone number (they would only give me the last 4 digits.) After several rather upsetting hours of speaking with several UPS agents, the package got delivered and all contents were intact and the box had not appeared to be tampered with. I don't know exactly what went on here, but I have suspicions and they are not good. I will not be using UPS again, nor do I recommend them. read more

They printed and cut my flyers in a fast and friendly manner, and the quality was pristine! Be warned - the UPS Store in Lihue is only interested in your business if you are a "shipping customer". When I went in yesterday for notary public services, I was greeted and told that they were busy and that it would be a few minutes wait. No problem. But when it was my turn, I was told to stand in the corner & the clerk started helping the person behind me. When I asked why, I was told that "shipping customers have priority". They went on helping customers who weren't even in the store yet when I arrived and left me standing there with no idea how long of a wait to expect. I don't know why they bother advertising their other services if this is how they treat you when you try to use them. read more

We were visiting Kauai and needed to ship a water bike. We wanted to fedex but they wouldn't do. They suggested The UPS store. What a treat to walk into a store and be welcomed with cheerfulness and willingness to help us. Packaging the bike and its accessories was burdensome but they worked with us diligently to complete the transaction. I will definitely use them again when on the island of Kauai. read more

This store does it all. The guys are super friendly, helpful and wonderful to work with which really is the winner at this store, anyone can ship but these guys treat you like a friend. They have a Notary Public there, stamps, envelopes, pens, greeting cards and more. They do everything! Not sure how to mail something? Bring it in, they will recommend packaging, mailing options and have you out of there in no time. When I transfer my post office box there, I will never have to go to the crowded USPS Post Office ever again. read more

I went to the UPS store in Lihue yesterday to get a document notarized. Wow! What service. The owner, Eric?, greeted me enthusiastically when I walked in the door and asked me what I needed. He said it would be about a 5 min wait until the notary was ready for me. While I waited he took care of a couple phone calls and a couple walk in clients in such a friendly, helpful manner that it kind of blew me away. Well, since the other notary was taking more than 5 minutes and the owner had nothing to do at the time, he banged out notarizing my document himself in about 2 minutes. Wala!! This guy rocks. I will use him again and recommend him to my friends. read more
