11/24 update We decided to go with JNR after all after…read moreEugene explained the mix up. He was very accommodating & easy to work with. Made a huge difference in our decision making. The local CA company they used (I believe it was Pioneer) was amazing. They missed 2 tiny drawers but I was able to pack it in my suitcase. I'd highly recommend the CA moving company. Once our household items arrived in HI (it took just under 6 weeks from the time they finished in CA & it was moved into storage in HI) we were contacted to see if we wanted to watch our items being stored. We agreed. Chris was there to meet us (very nice & helpful. Walked us through it) & it seemed to go smoothly. He left half way & the unloaders slowed down. 1 quick phone call & it was back on track. We are pleased with the storage facilities. Secure & temperature controlled. The only hiccup worth mentioning is the 1 of the unloaders was on his phone 98% of the time. Even while pushing the carts he had his phone up to his face. He was young lol. We did have to mention that some of the boxes that said "this side up" meant they needed to store it a certain way. Overall I'd recommend working with Eugene & Chris.

I had a notary saying the driver who picked it up was the only person allowed to drive the vehicle. Then it magically appeared at port. Matson has pictures of the vehicle before it arrived showing the damage that I discovered when I picked it up. Not only was the entire right front damaged, whoever tried to fix it used an off color paint. I will post my experience as many times a possible to warn everyone not to use this crappy company. I'm a firefighter paramedic and I can guarantee I understand the importance of professional and customer service and this company is not it.

I feel those negative reviews were meant for another company and mistaken for this one. I only say that because of how my items were packed. They used different materials from those negative photo reviews. Worldwide Moving & Storage packed me out in August. I just got my shipment delivered. There was NO damage! You hear all these horror stories about moves, but to my understanding, things do happen. I did mentally prepare myself that some things might get damaged a little since it's going over seas. But I was shocked! My overall experience was wonderful. It all started with the office ladies, everyone I spoke to was so friendly and helpful. I had so many questions since this was my first over sea move. I was very nervous and anxious. The crew members that packed me out were very patient and understanding with my demands. I had to apologize to them and explained how nervous I was. They made me laugh and feel comfortable. They took care of all my big fragile items (like my glass tv stand shelf) and used cardboard plus the brown paper to give it extra protection. They disassembled my bigger furniture and wrapped everything in that brown paper and for my smaller items they wrapped them in a white paper and placed them in boxes. Everything was labeled by room and made it so easy for me when it got delivered. The office even gave me a courtesy call the day before just reminding me about my move and gave me an ETA. I recommend using Worldwide Moving & Storage.

Several years back a family friend of mine moved away to Hawaii to take care of her family. I went ahead and did some research to help only to stumble upon Schmidt; at first I was a bit skeptical due to the lack of reviews but due to the worldwide pandemic it was difficult to find an affordable company that was available to assist us at such a short notice. We settled on this company due to their availability and price. And honestly.. I am glad we did. Everything was delivered punctually without a single delay. All of her furniture and belongings (fragile items included) arrived safely without any damages/scratches/rips/tears. You can definitely tell that they they took the time and effort in ensuring quality when it came to their packaging. Due to the new size of her new apartment, she realized that her current couch didn't fit well in her new space so instead of throwing it away we decided to give it to our aunt. Schmidt assisted us in further moving the couch to the next location with no complications at all. Overall, I am satisfied with the service they had provided for us. Not only did they respond to our messages very quickly, but they also respected us the entire time. There are tons of moving services available here due to the influx of international students in the area, so I was pretty sure there were similar services in Hawaii so I told my friend to look into it. He decided to go with Schmidt International Shipping (I'll call them SIS) and ship all his belongings to my place until he and his family can find their own place. Not only did SIS deliver all his things properly to my household, but they also gave ME a call shortly after it arrived. The person I spoke to notified me that one of the boxes held all the baby food and perishables, and advised me to refrigerate it as soon as possible. The funny thing is, the company told me about this but my friend never did lol. It probably slipped his mind with all the moving but it was very generous for the company to go out of their way to inform me! Some may think it's not a big deal but I was impressed by that small gesture. All in all, I would use SIS if I was a local in Hawaii!
