Excellent service.. changes service personal too often. Can't established a business relation , too many changes too frequently

I've never really had any issues coming to this location. In the past, there was an older gentleman working here who always seemed a bit grumpy and didn't interact much, but I haven't seen him around lately. Recently, I've noticed what seems to be new staff, or maybe just people I hadn't met before and they've been incredibly friendly and helpful! One great tip: if you need to print a label but don't have a printer at home, just email it to yourself. When you arrive at this location, they'll provide you with their email address so you can forward the label to them and print it there. It's a simple and smooth process, and they're happy to guide you if you need any assistance. Based on my experiences, everything here has gone smoothly. They are helpful and patient. I've returned Amazon packages there, plus I needed a duplicate copy of my birth certificate and it required notary services. The female clerk there looked and timelines and recommended a slower mail delivery since the city clerk's office in S.Cal would be closed for a few days. They close at 6:30. I arrived at 6:25 and the male worker refused to help me saying they are closed. This particular employee is always rude and has poor customer service. However...other female employees have always been helpful and nice. read more

So i had a prepaid label i needed to ship out. I had gone to this store before and printed my label from their computer no issue and shipped my package. Today i went down and printed my label and then the guy tried to charge me 3$ for 1 piece of paper. I told him thats outrageous and he ripped the label off my box and told me to go to another store then. He clearly didn't care about how much the label costs because he ripped it up. I just discovered this UPS store and it's open later! So I actually can return things AFTER work! I've been there twice and everyone is just about as nice as can be and when I go it is very quiet. Last time I went I was having a hard time with organizing returns both personal and for work and the gentleman was patient and it was appreciated greatly by me! I went another time and there was a young woman she was super nice. The service is excellent and boy you don't know how much it helps when they are open a little later! Thank you! I tried to go to another one in Palo Alto but it's insanely busy and parking can be tricky. This store is easy to park for and you are in and out in no time and can even take a stroll on Main St if you feel like it! read more

FIVE STARS. This is the best UPS Store in town (Palo Alto, Mountain View included). I've been coming here for over a decade, it's always clean, spacious, fast lines or no lines, service is courteous and competent. The hours are unbeatable, literally all other mail/ship spots have limited hours, but if you need to ship something on a Saturday at 4, there is no other spot. They also have notary services and excellent private PO Box services. Skip the lines and slow service everywhere else! read more

The UPS store is very friendly, great helpful staff. Easy access and quick service. They even have a Notary and mailboxes for rent. There is one problem, the wifi access does not work at that location. Issue with their downtown location. But apart from that, all great. Have been going to the store for many years. read more

I think it's weird that this store has such low ratings. Personally I think the people here are great. They are always really helpful and package things wonderfully for me. They are not chatty and get the job done in an orderly fashion. Lines can get long in any shipping store like FedEx and UPS so I expect that going in. Thats why the wait time doesn't bother me. Prices are to be expected for shipping. Most of the time, I ask them for shipping and time options. It's a good way to save on costs. If you go in during the afternoon on a weekday, the lines are shorter. read more

Went in a few weeks ago to send 9 books to Sonoma. Well I was actually going to go to the post office but the line was really out the door. Saw that the UPS Store was a few stores down and decided to go there instead (you may pay a dollar more but your are saving time, as our time is valuable too). Anyways, the man who helped me was super efficient. He weighed the books, added a box, and gave me the total. I paid and he said he'd pack the box. I was out the door in less than 5 minutes! Hidden away in downtown Los Altos on Main Street is a UPS Store. I have found it very convenient as I never have encountered a line or excessive wait time when I have to use this store. The people here are courteous, attentive, and very helpful to me. They also have shipping supplies available. Recently I had to return a large item and they provided me a dolly to transport my large box. They also have a door facing the parking lot behind it so you don't have to park on Main Street to ship your items! It is located between CASSALTO and Adventure Toys and Teacher Supplies. Be afraid, be very afraid! I went to print two pages off of a USB stick. They don't let you print directly from USB on the printer, and I had to sit down at their computer to print it out. The bill for two very pale black and white pages was $2.39! That's $1.20 a page. Huge, huge rip off! I will never do business with this place again! Just for comparison, the UPS store in Ladera lets you print directly from your USB on the printer, and it costs about 40 cents for two pages. So this is definitely a local store policy, not a franchise policy. read more

Never try To go there before 9:00am even they suppose to open the store at 8:30 am. Today is the fifth time I'm waiting in front of the store for a drop off. They don't really respect customers time. Update: At 8:50 I got into the store and asked him the opening hours: The rude guy and very unfriendly said they open at 9:00 am and I asked why their sign suggests 8:30 am and he said in a very unfriendly tone: This is wrong! Jen seems to have been fired. Thank the gods, she was terrible. I had many encounters with Jen. Essentially everything I did with her was screwed up, sometimes to be discovered months later. Jen seemed to have open contempt for all of the store's customers. As of a couple of months ago, Mickey is the new manager. He runs the store by the book and has promised to stay until the posted closing time. So far, he has treated me fine. Business seems to be up a little as well. I'm still finding things that Jen did, though. For instance, another person who was supposed to be listed on my box wasn't - and the ridiculous paperwork Jen insisted upon was mysteriously lost. Considering how long it took us to accomplish this, my anger kind of went through the roof. Mickey gave me some compensation by way of apology for Jen's incompetence/malice. If you were wronged by these guys in the past, I suggest another try. read more

This is not so much a review of the store as for UPS itself. An overnight service was used to send a package (12 pages document) on Monday from Mountain View to Brooklyn, NYC, NY. Every day the tracking status says "will be delayed for one business day". Even today, on Thursday, it said "Out for delivery" by noon (local time) until around 3PM Pacific time and then it suddenly became again "will be delayed for one business day". Called UPS on their telephone number and of course "talked" to a wonderful recorded voice and jumped through their hoops and finally got switched to what maybe a life person. After a ten minutes wait finally talked to someone who said due to the "high volume" of packages it is undeliverable but is now "prioritized" and will have a "guarantee" delivery time of by noon tomorrow! To put it in English it means there may be 10,000 packages and their truck and deliverer can only handle 1,000 per day and so even if it is on the truck it may not get delivered and if it is not on the truck, well, one may have to wait as long as TEN days! Should you need something quick via UPS, well, good luck and pray. I guess in the UPS clock overnight can mean 96 hours. Not only that their so-called "customer service" is non-existent. I wouldn't use them again next time. Go FedEx or USPS. read more

Horrible customer service once they have your money!!!! Sent a birthday gift to my son. It was never received. Filed a claim in October. Still nothing. Was first told that they had a signature so they couldn't do anything about it. Then they looked at the "signature" and "realized" it wasn't actually ever signed for. Said they needed to reach out to corporate to straighten things out. Nothing. Called again. They said they would follow up. A month later a UPS "investigator" demanded entry into my son's apartment (during Covid lockdown in NYC) to explain things. My son signed an affidavit saying he never received a package. Three weeks later, still no response except that the local store is saying it's not their fault even though the local store's owner could make a claim against their insurance (per the store employees) but doesn't want to do it. It's now going on two months and no one is willing to take responsibility. If UPS loses your package, you will be caught between corporate and the local owner since neither wants to refund the UPS payment or make good on their loss of the package content. Try USPS or Fed Ex. Really horrible service if anything goes wrong read more

Complete waste of my time. Booked an appointment for notary services several days in advance, left work early to drive there and arrive on time. When I got there after standing in line for a while the only employee told me that the notary had already left for the day and to try coming in the next morning. Why do you accept and confirm appointments if you aren't going to have the relevant staff available? read more

Okay, this is a very limited review. Like the other reviewer, I am writing to say this store was great to me this week. I had a limited request, but everything was done well, the gentleman was nice, went out of his way to give me a receipt (w/o my asking), was friendly, and not a complaint in sight. The store seems a clean, well-stocked, there was a thing for kids to play with, and the parking was easy. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Earlier reviews seem stale, and I'd bet the population that use this store aren't big yelpers.... You just have some very poor, but very dated, reviews for people who had a bad experience with the prior staff. Give them a try, and if you're happy, help them bring their stars back up;) read more

Wanted to mail a package via UPS and bill to a client. Looked up UPS on information and found the closest and walked in. The first woman I spoke to said they do not mail packages there, unless I had a computer-printed label on a sealed package. I said that is ridiculous, this is a UPS store and there are labels on the front counter. She said we get a lot of complaints and I should call to complain. I called the UPS 800 number and was told that yes, that particular store had packaging supplies and shipping documents, and that I could put another person's account number on the label. I went back in and relayed this information to a second woman. She said "we have labels, this is our label" and threw a completely blank stick-on label towards me. I told her the 800 number had said they could do this and she said "How do we know that you have permission to use that account number? How do we know we're going to get paid?" I asked her for the supervisor's name and she said she is the supervisor. I asked for HER supervisor's name and she said it is the owner, and they are not allowed to give out that information. I told her any legitimate business provides the name of its manager or owner to customers. She said she didn't appreciate my slandering comments and implying that this business is sleazy or something. She said that if I call Corporate and refer to store number 3689 they will know who the owner is, I don't need to know. I asked for her name and she said "Jen" and I said I suppose you won't give me your last name and she said "I'm not going to give you personal information, I don't want you looking up my address so you can stalk me". Incidentally, I called The UPS Store 800 number and reported this to a lukewarm reception, and was told the franchise agreement does not require an owner to give out his name, and I wouldn't be called. And that's what BROWN did for ME!!! read more

Avoid this place or part with too much money! I shipped two packages, one from this UPS Store and one from another nearby UPS Store. Identical packages, identical contents, to the same address, just a few weeks apart. I didn't realize it at the time, but this UPS Store charged me over 50% more for the identical shipment and did not provide me any tracking information. When I checked the shipping costs on ups.com, I found that they indeed overcharged me. When I went back to the store to get tracking information and asked about the price difference, all I received was a lot of static about how it was probably fuel surcharges...which are itemized separately on ups.com and amount to about 90 cents, not more than eight dollars. Steer clear of this UPS Store, lest you be swindled too! read more

Beware of this store! Retailers have developed partnerships with national companies, such as UPS, to use UPS locations as a convenient pick up sites for packages. However, beware if you use or plan to use this store as a pick-up location! The workers will charge you an additional $15, above the delivery charge, just for picking up a package from this store. I have spoken to the Retailer about this issue, and they will be speaking directly with UPS headquarters about this dishonest practice. If the workers didn't know the policy, they should have contacted the manager or business owner, etc. (I'm a small business owner, and my employees can contact me with questions or discrepancies if they are unsure. It's the respectable way to serve the community.) Instead, they kept insisting that the additional charge is their usual practice. read more

Outstanding kindness and service. I had to have an out of state mortgage notarized and they sent me the wrong form twice! The Notary, Mickey, stayed open late, and redid the form without charging. Ok .....I guess things have gone down hill for this store. I use to get great service here. Attitudes have really changed. They sure are limiting things to get done here. I gave this place 4 stars before but am very disappointed. Had to take alot of stars off the chart. I know UPS Stores are franchises. To bad this one went down hill. I have also noticed new faces working there. I guess I will have to go somewhere else. It sounds like the owner does not play by the rules. I still love UPS. Good Luck read more
