I looked up this UPS store on yelp when I was in the area with some extra time and realized I could finally mail the packages I had been carrying around in the trunk if my car for days. I made it there just 5 minutes before they closed and the man at the counter was super nice about it. He helped me through the door with the huge boxes, helped me open and reseal my boxes (because my boyfriend had forgotten to put the RMA paperwork inside), and generally displayed excellent customer service. Normally I wouldn't bother writing a review, but the rating on this store was so low that I felt like maybe I could make a small difference here. My experience at this store was great! great location in downtown los altos and a nice alternative to the us postal service. generally speaking, lines are shorter here and staff has more time and patience to answer your questions and help you with whatever you need. there's the standard mail/letter drop box, packing supplies for sale, and mailboxes for rent. in addition, this one even has a train set for young children to entertain themselves with while the adults take care of business. read more

These folks are horrible to work with, I have been in the store twice and both times the customer service has been horrible. The final time we needed a simply notary, the first time she messed it up, and the second time she messed it up. I finally went to another store, they did it right the first time. We had this store ship to Hawaii a high-value oil painting whose canvas was flush with its frame. The manager of the UPS Store expertly packed the painting and it arrived without a scratch or any other damage. We have also used this store to ship at least 4 moving boxes of fragile and valuable items to Hawaii--no damage whatsoever. Aside from their expertise, the manager and staff of the store are friendly, attentive and very helpful. read more

I went to this location on 8/12/16 at 8:30 am (opening time). I waited until 8:50am to drop off a package... but no one came and the store remained unopened. I eventually gave up and left. This is my first time visiting this store, and I can only rate based on my experience. I understand life can happen and maybe there was some sort of emergency, but for the time being I have to give this location one star. read more

I shipped 4 boxes of hardwood floors through this UPS store, the supervisor there, "Jen" does not mention she thinks there is insufficient packaging. All 4 boxes are damaged, and the claim from UPS was denied for insufficient packaging. I come back to Jen, she says she warned me that the package was going to be damaged. Why would I ship a package if I was warned it would be damaged. People need to stay away from this location. read more

It's shameful service by the store manager, Jen. To have our good city of los altos sullied by outrageously rude behavior on our main street is an affront to all citizens. She raised her voice, got hostile and hung up on me. I called back to ask for a complaint number at UPS and not only was she rude again but gave me the wrong number. Given that all the reviews for this store are negative, I should not be surprised. To all good citizens who may confront the same horrendous service, I post UPS complaint number: 888-346-3623. the UPS store is a franchise and UPS headquarters can't control the quality. This store is not a member of Los Altos chamber of commerce nor the Los Altos Village Association. There is an impression that this business is not integrated into our small local community, except to make a buck. Through public records at the los altos business license department, I find that Mr. Babul Sheth owns the UPS store. Through complaints filed with the UPS, he has yet to address the poor service. I have filed a complaint also with the better business bureau of santa clara at 408-278-7400. This store's reprehensible service should be reviewed by UPS and by our town of los altos. read more

I have been coming to this UPS store for more than a decade, and have always been happy with the service and ease of use. I was needing to make a quick drop-off on my way out of town and stopped by the UPS at Rancho which is actually closer to my house. My experience there was so suprisingly bad (I didn't even leave off my package), that I realized I should express my appreciation for the Main St. UPS store! Service there is always prompt, polite, and easy. highly recommended. read more

Notice all the old reviews are bad and all the new ones good? I also had a great experience. I had over 100lbs of old bills. etc that needed to be shredded. I got great service from the fellow who I believe is managing the store, and he offered me a discount with no prompting because the amount was so high. Also agreed to hold my containers until I could pick them up. There were 3 staff avail when I walked in about 10am and no waiting - everyone friendly. read more

Honestly one of the worst customer services ever. Don't print here. They charge 3.50 plus the pages. And I was not told I would be charged for using the computer to print the pages and would be charged for it. They kept insisting to pay. Probably best to go to FedEx as they have a self service print where one print is $.12 instead of $3.50. read more

Hi not sure where you guys have been to but we have used this store twice now to ship things to England and the guys in the store have been fantastic . I just came from the UPS store where I received very prompt and friendly service by the gentleman there. SO much faster than waiting in the long lines at the post office! It's a great resource to have right in downtown Los Altos. read more

horrible customer service. i went in on saturday to pick up my box because there was a note left at my door that its at this ups. i get there and the tall skinny indian guy says its not there and that its still on the truck. interesting that the slip said one thing and you say another. i go back in today during my lunch and the asian girl tells me that its not there. that its at another location. i handed her my phone with the ups tracking saying that its here and i need to pick up the package by this friday. she looks at me and says "oh no that means itll be here this friday" i am pretty sure i know how to read and thats not what it says. i called nordstrom so they can call ups and guess what!!! the package has been at this store FOR DAYS!!!! these people here are so lazy and make you feel like an idiot when you tell them that your package is sitting at their location. read more

I have been going to this branch of UPS for a number of years, 4 or 5, I'd say. I appreciate that they stay open until around 6:30pm on weekdays. My post office box is at the post office, just up the street. I have been carrying the manager's business/branch card around in my wallet for 2 or 3 years, since I wanted to put in a good word for him with his bosses. His name is Mickey Pandit. I have gotten nothing but exceptionally good customer service from him and from the occasional helpers I've seen working there. Mr. Pandit has always been good-natured and helpful when I've gone in there with any need. He really seems very well suited to a customer service job that requires accuracy and efficiency in taking care of customers' needs. He has always been very willing to help and efficient in helping. I have always had good experiences there. Mr. Pandit is a remarkable employee, and I can't imagine anyone being more able to represent UPS and take care of UPS' business better than Mr. Pandit. I'm grateful to him for the the consistently reliable excellent customer service and help he has always provided. read more

i have been going to the ups store in los altos for about two years now and yes i am a huge fan...kind staff that always has the answers to my questions. and if they don't they are more than happy to point me in the right direction. i live in mountain view but choose to go out of my way to go to that particular ups store because i feel that they are always fare and do a great job. i recently shipped a box of waterford crystal to new york in which they packed and shipped for me with great precession and at a fraction of the cost that i was quoted elsewhere. and anyone that knows how expensive crystal is can imagine how nervous i was to send it across country....JOB WELL DONE! and furthermore to the gentleman that commented before me were shipping at the same place i was because i have NEVER had that experience in the downtown los altos ups store. read more
