Prior to changing owners this place always picked up telephone and was able to answer questions about deliveries. Now, I can never get anyone on the phone- the phone tree just goes in circles. In comparison to USPS down the street, that makes you wait in a 20 minute line just to realize that you have to purchase and handle all the shipping supplies ahead of time (which is so inefficient and makes no sense in this day and age!), UPS was a breath of fresh air and wayyyy easier on my anxiety. I dropped 3 small COVID specimen boxes at 10:22am PDT Tuesday, and overnight shipping was received at destination on Thursday, at 8:02am PDT, 46 hours later, for all 3. This place has only UPS, no DOWNS. UPS has always delivered on time and in full for all my demands. Usually shipping Amazon returns, including even large area rugs that didn't fit our space well, each of the UPS employees at this location has provided quick and excellent customer service. Parking is usually fairly easy to find out front as it's in a less-frequented section of Castro St. Super convenient. Two thumbs UPS. read more

They charge $3 to print a shipping label for packages. Even if you email it to them. And then an additional fee for the page you print. What a rip off. I asked them why it was $3 to print and then also a per page charge and the woman helping just said that's what our boss set the price at. Thanks I'll find another location to over pay for shipping at. FWIW I've come here before and been helped buy a super friendly gentleman who was able to explain things and help out. She made a custom box to fit my poles, secured it well and even printed labels with my name and phone number to put on all 4 sides of the box, all for a very reasonable price. A somewhat small location, which wasn't very busy on a Friday afternoon. There were four employees in the store, and I was the only customer. Woot? The two employees I interacted with were helpful and friendly. I came in to drop off a package with a prepaid shipping label, and the process was a breeze and the lady even asked if I wanted a receipt. Good use of space here, with shipping materials, copiers and mailboxes for rent. The only downside is the limited parking, being busy Castro Street and all. There are some 1-hour parking spaces on Castro, but otherwise you might have to park it on the residential streets nearby. read more

It's unclear if it's part of an intentional business strategy or just incompetence on the part of the staff, but talk about preposterously high quotes for sending simple items of mail! Today I was looking to send a very simple piece of mail: a letter-sized padded envelope with fewer than 10 sheets of normal paper inside. Nothing fancy. Nothing heavy. Nothing unusually sized. Since these were just documents and with no real hurry for them to reach their destination (which was in the UK) I asked what options I'd have. Knowing that this store offers both UPS and USPS options, I was assuming I'd go for the least expensive USPS option. I'd estimated this on the USPS website at $5.10, plus I guessed there might be a small surcharge for sending it here rather than at the Post Office. Note quite... I was offered two options: 1. UPS Saver: $108 2. USPS Priority Mail: $103 ("...which can take up to three weeks"). I countered that I was sure I could send it via USPS from the Post Office for like five bucks, and this was simply met with a "Their rates may be different than ours, so you can check with them". So, I walked another five or ten minutes to the Post Office and mailed it international first class for $4.16... almost exactly $100 less than the cheapest option offered by this store. Even if I had taken the Priority Mail option at the Post Office, it would only have cost $35, one third of the cost at the UPS store. Crazy. I visited the store only because it's closer to my home than the Post Office, but in future I'll go straight to the source. read more

I have only had pretty good experiences with this UPS store. Every time I walked in, no matter how bed-headed/lacking coffee/frumpy and grumpy, I have always been greeted with a welcome, a smile, and good service. I didn't have a printer for a while and needed to print large amounts of papers for my class. I would stop by and print 100s of sheets of paper at a time on their computer. The system for printing was pretty fast and easy-to-use. The only con in my opinion was that sometimes the printer would be down and one of the staff members would come and bring it back to life. They also didn't act annoyed at all that someone was hogging the computer and making loud printer sounds for more than 1/2 hour at a time. I have used UPS for notarizing as well, and they were nice enough to let me email my document to their store computer and even printed them out for me for free one day when I realized I forgot a needed document to verify. The notarization process was fast and effective and the staff was kind. I have also shipped out multiple packages and all of them were delivered safely and on time. Some of them they didn't make me wait around for after paying and assured they would take care of it and they did. They give you a receipt for tracking with all of them which is convenient. I know this isn't everyone's experience and I've seen the staff being very cordial to customers with a poor experience. Anyways, this is my go-to UPS. read more

I just went in with over 17 people packed inside a tiny room, absolutely not six feet apart. I had to direct people to stand outside the store in a line myself to ensure proper safety distance. Five stars for the great customer service. I came by to print a return label and the employees went above and beyond by helping me attach the label and tape up the box, even though I wasn't actually shipping from the store. The main downside was that the printing cost ran on the expensive side, but I'm giving five stars because of the excellent service. I would return for my future shipping needs. read more

They said Thursday delivery and the package sat at their store the whole day next day. As soon as the tracking info became available, it said 7:00 pm Friday delivery.
