I haven't been this happy with something I've ordered in a long time. I love buying local and I am…read moreso glad I was able to fill my business card needs here in Louisville. I needed business cards for my side work in editing and they provided something that was just marvelous. I love the paper, the typeface, and the graphic on the finished product. I also enjoyed the process. Nick worked with me to come up with a design, font, and colors. Then he kept in contact with me throughout the process. We made some edits and changes and it honestly came out better than I expected. I would say, "exactly what I wanted," but it was much more than I wanted them to be. I am very happy. I have no idea when I'll need printing services again but I know where I'll go.

These guys carve their own molds! They custom make invitations! I saw one of the posters they did for Louisville Brewfest last year - I think it was five runs through the press (which means 5 different colors). Johannes Gutenberg just did a little jig in his grave over this one. Every single thing they produce is beautiful. They can do it all too - wedding invites, birthday cards, posters, birth announcements, etc... Check out some of their beautiful work here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hounddogpress/ One of two owners, Nick, is the nicest guy too. He spent a good 15 minutes giving the history and the background of where Hound Dog Press started and what type of services they offer. If you find yourself this far down Market, walk in, take a look around - he doesn't mind! Schedule a classroom visit if you're a teacher (they do tours!) The one thing I forgot to ask - where did the name Hound Dog Press come from!! If anyone finds out, let me know! Best part of this company is that most of their advertising is done by word of mouth, so spread the word!

Yeah, this is probably not the best FedEx Office out there but the person that helped me out was…read morepretty great. As others have noted, the space is rather odd - long and narrow and not a lot of equipment to use. My guess is that the majority of their business comes from the convention center across the street. Anyway, I needed to print out a document, sign it and email it back to someone - very 2008, I know. The first person that came by wasn't helpful at all and wandered away after 30 seconds. Fortunately one of the other employees stepped up and went out of her way to help me out. Problem solved, document signed and sent, all for less than $1. (Again, the person I worked with was amazing but that did not appear to be typical as most of the employees seemed to be avoiding human interaction).

I was attending a convention nearby and I needed to ship a package to a couple friends. Now, the…read morehotel I was in had a UPS store - which is great! Problem: it was Sunday afternoon and they were closed. Fortunately this Fedex location was a hop, skip and a jump from the Galt House hotel so I took a walk cover to ship my boxes. Coming form New York City, I have to say this Fedex location was cavernous compared to the ones I'm used to. This looked like a warehouse dedicated to printing and shipping! The store was very clean, brightly lit and well organized. The staff member who helped me was extremely helpful. He helped pack up my boxes, wrapped up the items inside and helped me check out very quickly. Afterward he gave my friends and I some great advice on nearby places he enjoys eating and hanging out. Always listen to the locals, I say! Fedex is not cheap, but it wasn't crazy expensive either. The key was these guys were open for shipping when no one else was. Kudos for great service and life saving hours.

Did I mention 'delivered'? Literally, to my front door while I was able to go do the other 1,000 things you organize and pickup the day before a large event. Eric seriously went over and beyond basic customer service and I owe this amazing man flowers AND chocolates for all the emails, panicked phone calls, and special requests I threw at him (including fixing a very last minute change to a schedule and correcting the technical parts of wonky logos). Wonky is my professional description of bad jpeg files. Eric - you and your team are life savers and the quality and value for your work is spot on. Hopefully, you can have a full year of peace before you have to deal with me again! If you've never had the pleasure of having to print conference signs and deal with poster board orders... please continue living life on the sunny side, because no matter the event, I've always struggled with ordering timely with delays it takes to obtain information from multiple sources They also helped produce a custom table runner for an organization I manage and also did that at an expedited speed.

The husband and wife had attitudes and I had no intention of ever using them again. It was a pleasant surprise to meet the new owner and he was easy to work with. In January, I needed to mail a "one last Christmas present" to my daughter, a $4.50 deck of cards…read morewith a specific message just for her that weren't in stock in time for Christmas. Due to my work schedule, I had to mail it in the evening. I normally use the Meijer mailing station on Hurstbourne, but their postage machine was out of order that evening. An internet search on my phone gave me this Postal Annex as the only mailing station open, and it would be several days before I could get another chance to mail it. So I drove there from Meijer on Hurstbourne, waited a long time while the clerk waited on a slow customer (not the clerk's fault), and nearly swallowed my teeth when the clerk slapped a mailing label over the envelope it was in and told me it was going to cost me $9.50 to mail this $4.50 deck of cards. I objected to the price, specifically asked if there wasn't a cheaper way to mail it, and he said no, the only other way I could send it was by FedEx and that would cost me $22.00. He told me delivery was guaranteed in 2 days. I wasn't trying to mail it 2-day delivery, but he wouldn't budge on the delivery option or the price, except to go up. So I paid $9.50 to mail a $4.50 deck of cards. I walked away feeling lied to, exploited, and very abused. The small gift that I paid more than double the price of to mail took 11 days to get to my daughter on the 2-day delivery option I didn't want but was forced to pay for "or you can go somewhere else tomorrow." I couldn't go somewhere else the next day. I couldn't go somewhere else until the next week. That's why I was there. I filed a complaint with the USPS and was told that since this place is a Delivery Annex, not an actual Post Office, there are no rules that apply to them and they can do anything they want. First, the USPS shouldn't have that kind of contract with anybody. That's just stupid. Second, I will never, for any reason, in my life return to that Postal Annex. There is a saying, "Use me once, shame on you; use me twice, shame on me." This Postal Annex will never have the opportunity to exploit me again. Third, I want everybody to be aware of the fact that this place practices extreme price gouging. Fourth, I want people to be aware that I suspect I was exploited because I am female or an older adult, or both, in which case it practices gender or age profiling, or both, in setting its prices.
