For 13 years, I frequented the purgatory that is the UPS store in Sausalito (3001 Bridgeway) - strictly out of convenience. On the outside are parking spots that fit roughly 85% of your vehicle (as is customary in hell). On the inside is a revolving door of unprofessional employees and a store that looks like it gets cleaned every solar eclipse. I remember walking in one day and there was dog vomit on the carpet and I thought "Well, this is certainly on brand." I was unfazed as I tiptoed through the vomit that had been tracked throughout the store. I held my breath as the employee gave me an entire breakdown of how terribly the owner treated them (in general), how he refused to address the biohazard, and how it wasn't their job to do so. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner myself, who was so incredibly unprofessional and rude to me that another customer actually stopped me outside to apologize for his behavior. It made me miss the dog vomit and masterclass in patience. I'm actually grateful for today's unpleasant interaction because it led me to this particular UPS franchise (very close by, in Mill Valley). There is ample parking (that fits a whole car). When I walked in, I was in shock by how absolutely clean it was. I literally stood in the front door in awe for an awkwardly long period of time. The gentleman at the front desk (manager and brother to the owner) was so pleasant and personable. It was like being upgraded from coach (more like the baggage compartment) to first class. We're getting transported with the chickens over here in Sausalito on a stakebed truck full of hay, and you Mill Valley folks are doing high tea with the Queen. This whole time!? Since the change in ownership this store no longer provides advertised mailbox service of package delivery notification. As a lawyer who receives express and hand deliveries this is why I contract for mailbox service. The store manager refuses to provide this service, claims its not part of the contract (read your own website) and is sarcastic and rude. If delivery notification is important, or respectful customer service, take your business elsewhere. read more

It was a little busy the day I went. Store manager handled the situation beautifully. They charge you five dollar fee for emailing documents and printing them. That's new to me. Good experience overall. read more

The UPS Store - Monday morning assignments - Shipping Centers Near Me - Mill Valley, California

I have been here numerous times since they opened - mostly for notary services and have also had them mail packages and for shredding, occasionally copying and scanning (esp during pandemic), plus UPS return drop-offs. I have always found them to be professional and polite to work with and never had any problems. I do call in advance for notary services, just in case, to make sure the notary is available. I was surprised to see the very negative recent review, so decided to add my two cents. read more

Don't waste your time or money getting passport photos at this location. We went here for passport photos for 3 people. The employee was condescending and rude when I asked him to retake one of the sets of photos due to poor quality. He begrudgingly took a new set and then charged me for 4 sets of photos. We just had all of our applications rejected b/c the photos were defective. read more

This is a really great UPS store. I love the convenient location in Tam Junction. I've used the store to ship UPS packages, print color files that I've emailed to them, get things notarized, buy greeting cards and drop-off packages pre-paid return labels. The store is large and bright with ample space, incredibly clean, and the staff that work there are very nice, helpful and professional. I've been to several UPS stores in Mill Valley and hands down this one is the best! read more

For the 3rd time in a row, I've had to wait 30+ min for 2-3 customers to get helped by one and only extremely slow employee working the counter. Coming in and doing a 5 second Amazon return is enough to make one suicidal. So depressing, completely ruins my day every time I have to come here. Highly recommend going anywhere else humanly possible. Save money on therapy. read more

This is a relatively new store. I know that they try their best, but I have had zero luck w/ them being able to help w/ any of my mailing related needs. And despite them being listed as a "One Warm Coat" drop off location, they are not participating. I recently tried to get a passport photo done here. The lady was all in a tizzy. She couldn't get the camera to work properly. Then, after replacing her batteries, she proceeded to take the ugliest photo of me I've ever seen! I mean, it's bad. She was all up in my face. I had removed my mask, but she insisted on taking the close up from hell. I could have insisted on a retake, but at that point I just wanted out of there. This photo will be on my passport for 10 years! So, if you just need to wrap and mail something, and support a small business, go for it. Otherwise, they are not helpful read more

They are overcharging. I send an email of one page to make a copy and they wanted $4 for one black and white copy. Which I have done it before for 0.30. Which I refuse to get it. Anther time a bid box of Amazon retuned which was supposed to be free they wanted me to pay $39. Which again I refused and took it to Sausalito UPS for free. read more

Great addition to Tam Valley. In the past few months I've used most of their services. Notary, UPS shipping, US postal service (beats going to the post office), fax service, and copy machines. The wife has used the multi-color printing service to her satisfaction. Best of all, the store is immaculate and the copy machines are in top running order. Don't see that everywhere. Only downside is their direct access to Good Earth Natural Foods and their wonderful bakery! read more

This owner is a con/price gauger. $3.50 for printing a label?? And when I asked if that was a UPS standard or his choice as an owner he replied "that's what we charge here. It's a service a lot of people need so that's what we charge". Give your money to better run business. read more

This store really price gouges. $3.80 to print one piece of paper, and then they want to charge for a small piece of tape to secure a box. For the price of the price of paper, I'd think that they would throw in the tape for free. They got me this time, but I won't be a repeat customer. read more

I have been here a number of times now and every time I regret it. While the people here are very nice they are chronically understaffed and as a result there is always a long wait, even just to drop off a package or ask a quick question. On one visit, I spent 15 minutes waiting for one staff member (the only person there) to get off the phone with a printer specialist who was trying to help fix one of their large printers. On my most recent visit I came in to buy some bubble wrap but ended up walking out after waiting 10 minutes for the guy in front of me to get one package shipped. Speed is just not a strong suit here. I would steer clear. read more

I had a great experience at this store. We shipped a large, fragile sculpture recently to the Midwest and it arrived in great condition and in the promised time frame. Matt Jones was particularly helpful and he gave me full confidence that everything would arrive both on time and in mint condition. I was very reassured after talking to Matt that they would be doing the packing. They sent me pictures of the sculpture being wrapped and packaged. He also told me about other large art items that they had packed and shipped without difficulty and without the need for crates. They took a great amount of care to make sure that everything was done right and done carefully. Matt answered all my questions and he was always accommodating, caring, pleasant, cordial, and patient. I highly recommend this store for shipping, including large and fragile items. We recently visited the San Francisco Bay area and bought a lot of souvenirs. We live in the Midwest that need to ship them home. Near Muir Woods we were able to find the UPS store, the lady working at the store was very friendly and took care of us very well, when we received our packages it was packed SOOO...well. It was good to chat with her just a few minutes about our trip. Again she did an awesome job packing our souvenirs as there was several fragile items. What a disappointment! I was loving having the new UPS store at Tam Junction (used it a number of times since it opened) and had found everyone I came into contact with there to be friendly and helpful, and chatted about how good it is for the community to have a resource like this at TJ. Unfortunately, I met the owner there for the first time today. I was returning an Amazon order, and found the label they had sent me was the wrong label. No worries, I called and they said they would email a new label to the UPS store. I asked the (as it turned out) owner for their email, and he laughed and said it would be $3.50 for them to accept and print the email. When I questioned whether that was "good customer service" when you are trying to establish yourself in the community, he gave me a rude and unhelpful argument, and when I pointed out again that might not be the best customer service (calmly and reasonably I might add), he started shouting at me to "get out, get out, leave my store". I left immediately, but I am super-disappointed as I really liked being able to use the store. Oh well, if other folks have similar experiences, I can't imagine it lasting long (or at least maybe they'll realize they have a great business opportunity, just the wrong guy in charge).
