For 13 years, I've frequented this UPS store, purely for convenience. I've had a higher tolerance than most for their constant revolving door of unprofessional employees and filthy facility. I remember walking in one day (last year) and there was dog vomit on the carpet. The employee at the time stated that the owner treated them terribly and that this was not their job (so they refused to clean it). To give you perspective on how my past experiences here have shaped my expectations, this didn't faze me at all. I tiptoed through the maze of dog vomit that had been tracked throughout the store and moved as quickly as possible through that transaction. I've managed to gracefully work with the employees I'm recognizing in the negative reviews (they're certainly accurate). Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner himself, who was incredibly rude and passive-aggressive. When I calmly stood up for myself, he responded with complete overkill and refused me service. He was entirely immune to de-escalation and certainly on a power trip. While his new employee was giving me directions to the closest alternative shipping location (like a normal, kind human being), the owner interrupted him and snapped, "You can't ask him questions. He's MY employee." Sausalito is a small, tight-knit community. I can't wrap my head around treating people like this. As I was leaving, another customer approached me outside to check if I was okay, apologized for how I was treated, and stated that they would be contacting UPS. Go to the Mill Valley location on Flamingo instead. It's clean, and the gentleman who runs it is lovely. read more

Wow! I could sum up this entire review with three letters but for entertainment I'll include more. I went to return a stereo I bought for my brother's birthday and we had just come from the install and silly me. I didn't bring any packing tape with me. Well this store is so popular that they actually charge you for about a foot of tape $2 to be exact. But I can live with two dollars. It's when the customer service rep angrily yells at you and tells you to get the fuck out of the store for being passive aggressive. That's where I draw the line.. this store is a great place to go. I used to love going here! 2 elderly gentleman were almost always there who were quiet, super efficient, and professional. Not super friendly but not rude in any way. Just did an EXCELLENT job! EVERY time. About a month ago, everything changed. New people, including a young nosy unprofessional kid. He denied those old guys had worked there in years, after I asked him where they were. Asked me what I was planning to do with the items I was returning. Weird!!! A lot more weird things were said than I want to go into here. It was EXTREMELY awkward. I have mixed feelings about this place. There is a lovely, incredible and extremely knowledgeable woman who works there (she's also a notary!). Every time I go I go in there (I I'm in there once a week) she's amazing. Here's the BIG letdown, recently there's been a man behind the counter that wears a white round fishing hat. To say this individual is rude, combative and just mean, is an understatement. He said things like, yes you should be sorry, that's how we do things here, did you take a photo of me (no I didn't). It's as if he hours out of his way to intentionally treat anyone who walks into this place like dirt. If you see this guy, just walk out. There's a UPS in Mill Valley next to Good Earth. I've only used this location for drop off with prepaid labels. I have to say, that are always so efficient and kind. There are two reserved parking spaces right out front so, while parking is right, you can usually get something. I appreciate the convenience and calm atmosphere of this location, and I hope it serves Sausalito for years to come. read more

Wow! These guys are first class. It is so hard to find businesses that are run well by real people. Walking in you can tell immediately that this is not a faceless company with underpaid employees standing behind the counter, no, the owner of the branch was behind the counter helping people with a friendly smile. There was also a notary public on-site, and I was able to complate a very complicated transaction that involved notorizing government documents and sending them off certified mail. Poor customer service all around. Employee had no idea of what the process was for UPS package shipments. They also have their self service station open during COVID 19, and the best he could do was direct you to their website for answers, and the worst part is he did the same for the person before me and there was absolutely no hand sanitizer or cleaning in between uses. I highly recommend you do not utilize the UPS shipment services at this franchised store. After that terrible experience, I drove to the UPS store at Corte Madera...exceptional customer service and immediately provided a solution. Worth the extra few miles. read more

This is the fourth time I've gone to this particular UPS store for my office. Today when I walked in I was happy to see a new face (for me) behind the counter because each time I've been there previously, I've felt rebuffed and hurried by the guy who was there. He appeared to be watching TV off to the side in the adjacent room and seemed to have an aversion to touching anything I've touched. Today, I carried in one box with one Shipping Document and explained to the new face that I had to get the other two boxes out of the car and need two more shipping label documents for UPS 2nd Day Air. He said he didn't have any shipping labels. -Said they didn't give him any. "OK", I replied, "so how do we ship these other two boxes to the same place?" He told me I'd have to fill out a form on line. "Can you do it for me?" I asked glancing over to his computer. Figuring I'm at a UPS store so that I could get help. Nope. "So I have to go back to the office, find it on line, fill it out, print it on a piece of paper, and bring it in," I asked? Yes, he said and continued with -I could email the filled out form to him, and he could print it out at the store but he'd have to charge me. He also didn't know the URL for this website. "I don't get it. These labels are in triplicate with carbon copies. How will one piece of paper work? And if it does, can't I just write the address on the box or you print out a 2 day label?  No he said. I asked him to tell me where I could get those labels. He said he didn't know. "I'm so confused. Your telling me there is no way you can ship these boxes without those triplicate documents - that you don't have? This is the craziest thing I've ever heard of!" To which he offered to ship the one box that I had one filled out label for. I declined, reminding him that all three boxes have to go together. Meanwhile the phone in his pocket buzzed three times and he seemed distracted, reaching for it then changing his mind. The guy behind the counter was average height, average build (not lean nor large), maybe Hispanic descent and probably in his twenties. I should have asked his name. I left the store feeling surreal. By contrast, I went a block over to the FedEx store (inside the Kinko's by Molly Stones) at 2400 Bridgeway and in the 20 minutes I was there, I was cheerfully greeted by three worker bees and asked if I was being helped. The person helping me was humming because she was so happy doing her job, and another employee offered me a candy cane (it's the holidays). I also noted that I only had to fill out one form for all the three boxes, they did the rest on a computer, on line; printed out my receipt, tracking info and the sticky labels that go on the boxes. What a difference. Needless we won't be going back to that same tired old UPS store across from our office any more. Dude, is it a real store or just a front? -cause they sure don't seem to be there to make money or engage in customer service. Just saying' read more

This UPS Store is run by a business owner who has the customer's best in mind! I have shipped packages for my work at a non profit many times here, as well as dropping off Amazon returns. Today, I had to request a refund for the non-profit after an unfortunate mix up with a UPS shipment, late delivery misunderstanding. The owner was extremely gracious, understanding when I declined a credit and giving a full refund of the shipping charges. He has earned our loyalty for our future shipping needs. read more

The delinquents that 'work' at this place when I went to ship a fragile package I was shipping for eBay, made misleading statements about the UPS insurance policy, failed to properly pack the item even though they charged a hefty amount for it, and when the item arrived shattered, the staff failed to stand by their work. Even worse, when I tried to follow up by phone, the staff put me on hold for more than twenty minutes and then after a few minutes of squirming, hung up on me! and when I tried to call back - they refused to pick up the phone. Have had an account here since the opening. Is every day the "perfect" experience here.... no, but I cannot think of any place in my years as a consumer that is perfect all the time. Martin has always helped me as able, as have numerous staff members. I travel routinely for business and have always appreciated their flexibility. They have yet to have lost any packages being received on my behalf or losing any sent throughout the world as I have needed. One mans experience does not mean anothers will be equal to nor less than mine. What is appaling, is one mans (Edward L) personal vendetta against the store owner through Yelp. What might you be hoping for by divulging such "facts" according to you, be they real or imagined for us all? If I want drama I will watch daytime television. Yelp is not the place to vilify nor drag ones personall dirty laundry list out for all to see. You have made your point... you don't like their services or practices. Got It! I have been a long time customer of this UPS store. I will never ever go there again and I am taking my business elsewhere. There happens to be a young lady named Dulce who is the most rude, disinterested nasty person that I have ever encountered. I have had lovely people in the past wait on me. I have had Dulce once before and vowed to never go back if she was working. I went in today with a package and a wonderful lady helped me...Kara... then she went to lunch while I was getting the correct address for shipping.As Kara had gone to lunch, I decided to work with Dulce. Then unfortunately against my better judgement, I worked with Dulce. She is dis interested, robotic and just plain nasty. I am impaired and had my caregive with me. Do youn think that would make Dulce treat me with any kindness or civility. No, I do believe that she did everything to make things harder for me. I ended up leaving. I think that if she is a high functioning autistic person, it would be acceptable, but I see that she just doesn't care She seemed to try to make everything as hard as it could be. When I went to scan my credit care, I told her and showed her my hand wrist brace and bandage and sling and told her I had a broken wrist and I asked if she could help me swipe the card. She told me "this was illegal and she could not". She seemed determined to make the encounter as mean and nasty as she could. I wil try to report her. Any company that wants customers should get rid of her. I have changed to another store and will never ever go to that UPS store again. If they hire a nasty girl, then they should accept the fact that they will lose customers. I have enjoyed going to this store in the past and have had many positive experiences with the owner and others that have worked here. My experience today wasn't great. I went for passport photos. My photo didn't meet criteria for a useable US passport photo. I had to pay for the unseable photo and was told I would have to pay to try the photo again. I paid for an unusable photo. I left the photo hoping they show it to the owner for retraining and improved customer service purposes. Customers should be warned the photo may not turn out and they still have to pay for the photos before they take the picture. I went to USPS and they got it right on the first try and used a digital photo before printing it out. This shop is good for some things but needs improvement in others. read more

Pitiful service. I needed to ship some art. So I needed help with the packaging. The woman who was helping me seemed pleasant, but then walked away in the middle leaving me to another person who didn't know what she was doing. Then I got told to go over to another table to work on it myself. This isn't acceptable. I finally went up to Fedex in San Rafael to complete this. A lovely young lady there was very accommodating and helped me get my art shipped safely. That's where I'll go in the future. I suggest the same for anybody with shipping needs. Its too bad. The Sausalito UPS store used to be great but I'm never going back there, after twenty years of patronage. read more

I don't understand the good reviews. I will update this review once my package is delivered. When I went into this store, I thought maybe I was in a sports bar, or a construction zone, not a UPS Store. One of the employees, wearing a sports jersey, was yammering on so loudly the entire time I was in there about stadium seats..and the game..and whatever...everyone could hear him. He drowned everything else out. I couldn't even concentrate on what I was doing it was so obnoxious. Later he managed to drop a dolly right behind me...CRASH! The front desk staff could seem to care less about helping me. I finsished my transaction, and said "thanks for your help" and the guy said "yeah"...not "thank you". I'm sad to write this review. Seven years ago, I started using this UPS store. I really liked the owner (Martin) and his sidekick, Dana. For years I put up with bad service of all kinds -- my mail in the wrong box, other people in mine, packages coming late and zero notification, charging for the silliest things -- simply because I got the sense that Martin cared about his business. But in recent years, even basic things have gotten much worse. This past Christmas the lines were so ridiculous, I finally gave up trying to send or receive. Martin has hired people who clearly don't give a damn. Finally, after receiving numerous semi-threatening calls about my account while I mourning the heartwrenching death of a family member, I decided to go in and talk to them. I have a mailbox here for my business so I go frequently. I like that I can have access to my mailbox at any time but that packages are locked up after hours. I often see customers upset because they have to pay extra for a box and packaging, but I don't understand why they think that would be free. The owner and staff are very friendly and they are notaires too. This place can be better than a coffee shop for people watching. Minor problems with some of the staff doing their jobs lead to a discussion with Martin, the owner. His approach to customer service can be summed up as bully and condescend to female clients and threaten male clients with sabotage of mail and termination of contract.
