I am convinced Tiburon location is the best in whole Bay Area if not the country. I had superior experience on a day that could have been disaster for any worker. April 15 is the last day to file taxes, line at the door was a mile away right when John opened the doors with the warmest smile. I was there with two very young kids to get passports done, not one but two. Seeing John navigating guests through was mesmerizing. Early morning, people with piles of papers, million questions and in rush. John remained calm, knowledgeable,friendly, helpful and so professional. I was in that location for the first time, we drove there for 2 hours in early morning with little kids thinking it's the only location taking walk-ins for passports. It appeared to be they are not- mistake in the system but John was the nicest about it, still helped us with everything although he was the only person behind the desk. I was pleasantly surprised he knew majority of guests by the name, greeted them warmly and had everyone in and out of the door in minutes. His attitude, love for his work and their customers made this experience not only pleasant but unforgettable. He truly made an impact on our family and our whole day. Thank you, John!!! read more

Over the last 4-5 years, the aged men and women at this office have terribly mishandled our forwarded mail during winter months, losing dozens of checks and deposits exceeding $100,000.00; and further refusing to restore mail. This office deserves to be shut down due to its inefficiency and incompetence. 45 year owners/residents of this zip code, we write with regret; but Donald Trump is 100 percent correct about privatizing a wasteful government agency. read more

Unbelievable experience for a post office. We showed up 30 minutes early for a Passport appointment and he took us early no problem. Both agents greeted every customer by their first name. I just got back from the Tiburon post office at the height of Christmas pandemonium and I am astonished at what a lovely, positive, customer service- oriented experience that I had. I have never in my life had such a smooth, delightful experience at a post office. I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he was at the far left counter. To be clear, the line was practically out the door, but his attitude was cheerful, upbeat, and friendly. Thank you!!! read more

My family and I went to this post office today and it was the highlight of our day. Yes, things have changed during quarantine, but regardless, having two really nice employees chat with us AND give our son a free sheet of shark stamps affirmed our belief in humanity. This PO is one of the few open on Saturdays for passport service (make an appointment online). It's also near a well-kept walking path along the Belvedere Lagoon if you fancy a stroll after finishing up with your passports and discussing who should get letters postmarked with the thresher vs. the mako shark. I've had a post office box here for several years now, so I visit this location very frequently. I'm a very big fan of this location, the people who work here are really amazing and go above and beyond for me and everyone. A very personalized experience, they remember my name and everyone's name it seems, and still have stuff ready for me before I even asked if they see me walk in. Nicest fellows I've met! I was a tad bit late renewing my passport and Steve was gracious enough to fit me into his schedule. He was efficient and friendly. He also suggested that we retake our photos because they were not bright enough. He was right ... we ran over to CVS and for the pictures retaken and could see the difference. Best post office ever in a very cute city with lots of biking and hiking trails. read more

Unbelievable! A post office that you never have to wait more than 5 minutes in . . . . even during the holidays! Unheard of. They always seem to have enough staff to accommodate whatever the need is. Fast, efficient and courteous. Are we talking about the United States Postal Service? The business that helped coin the phrase "going postal?" Yep, in Tiburon they've figured it out. Take care of your customers and everything runs smoothly. It's a concept that I wish some other businesses would figure out. Glad I live in this one. read more

Happy to report that my passport experience here today is a complete 180 from some of the previous reviews. I had a 12:45 appointment that started exactly on time, and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Everyone there seemed extremely personable and nice as well. read more

the office is smallish in size with staff incredibly wonderful. my mail seems never to be lost when sent to me by my family.

the postal service workers are always incrediably nice to me when i stop in to mail out secret letters to my secret beaus that myt family not ever know about. sometimes its better to keep secrets. read more

This is the best post office ever, it's almost too good to be true. They are so friendly and sweet here (especially Steve!) I had an issue with receiving mail at my new address and they were so helpful at figuring out the issue. It's nice being so close to a big city and living in a small community like Tiburon. I have always been a fan of the customer service at this post office. However, I am very upset with how they handled my passport application. I opted to pay the post office the $15 fee to take the passport photo to be sure that the photo was exactly what was needed to process the application. Three weeks later, I received a rejection letter in the mail from the US Dept of State for the rejection of the application for unacceptable photographs. The post office refused to refund the $15 fee, but offered to retake the photos. The photos really were bad and I know that I can submit much better photos on my own. Shame on the post office for wasting my valuable time and for submitting such a poor photo and then for not refunding the fee. I'd have to be an idiot to allow them to retake and resubmit another photo on my behalf. I am posting this review so that someone else does not get ripped off another $15 the way I did. Thanks to the post office, the entire application has been delayed, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid in the first place. read more

Friendliest, most customer-focused service I have ever experienced at a post office.

I too have had a terrible experience for my passport application. Living in San Rafael it took over an hour round trip so a big commitment of time off work. Got home, phone rings, and its the Tiburon post office asking if I photocopied my drivers license. What? I gave it to him there, he wrote down the license number then handed it back to me. I told him I didnt have another hour to spare and wasn't driving back. He said, ok fax it. Did that today - took another half hour off work, phoned them to confirm when I got home - yep, they rec'd the fax but a fax can't produce the resolution that's needed. Now have to figure something else out or waste an hour round trip again. Extremely frustrated - this guy has blown it twice now. Low marks for competence. read more

This post office used to be a great place. But in the last six months, the old staff has left and for the most part and has been replaced by incompetents who barely speak or understand Englsh. They go through their chores like robots and have difficulty understanding even the simplest of questions. They also take their lunch break between 12 and 1 when they have the most customers. This place needs a new postmaster who can hire and train staff who speak and understand Englsh and offer better service. They should also have the most staff from 12-1 and other busy times. read more
