Never come here right when they open. The store consistently opens late, and employees often don't show up on time. I've personally come multiple times during posted opening hours only to find the lights off and the store closed. I've also seen several customers waiting outside with packages because no one was there. Completely unreliable if you're on a schedule. read more

If you need notary service, come here!! The notary only charges a nominal $2 fee which is completely unheard of where I'm from. He was quick, friendly and did I mention he only charged $2???? Use this service! I cannot rate any other service's offered at this location. read more

I would give this location Zero stars if it were an option. We were visiting NYC and puchased Christmas gifts for a special child that it would mean the world too. We used this location because it's a UPS store and thought for the price we pay the gifts would arrive safe and sound. Long story short we have been told after our package is now missing that we should just repurchase the gifts there's nothing they can do. Felix and his team here were incredibly helpful, understanding, and prompt in helping me identify the issue. Use Fedex or USPS. This store charged me $4.50 for a box without telling me after he packed it up. I told him I had amazon boxes I could use but her refused to undo the box. NEVER COME TO THIS STORE AND DONT USE UPS. read more

Best postal service ever received for. I came in this store for trading in my iphone 5 to Amazon with the prepaid shipping label. I asked the staff there which box will be best suited for the phone. He gave me one and folded the flat box for me. He also give me free bubble sheets to wrap my phone and taped the shipping labels for me. Much much better than the service of Fedex and USPS. Absolutely caring, honest, and efficient employees. I dropped by for short visit. I got my items printed, notarized and scanned in a matter of 10 mins. I could tell the owner cared about what he was doing because he effortfully took his time to place thr stamp in the right spot. He reminded me of Belle's dad from Beauty and the Beast. Never again! I work close to this UPS location and it "used to" be convenient dropping off returns and post office packages. Now they say they do not take post office packages but there were USPS boxes all over the floor waiting to be picked up! The person working today overcharged me for a 3lb box that should not have been more than $8 max. I got charged $18 and I paid for a box that I could not even ship back at UPS as a return.(FYI: label says it can be dropped off at either location!) That is a lot for regular ground shipping on such a small box that will arrive in 1 week. The previous workers were 100% better with customer service but where are they now?! read more

They lost my amazon returned package and gave me terrible attitudes. I went back to check the status of my package after one week of dropping of my package, they told me amazon returned is not their priority so I need to wait longer for them to ship my amazon package. After another week, I went back to check again, and the same guy told me to wait again, so I told them I won't get refund from amazon if they don't ship my package back to amazon NOW. Then he told me that it's very normal that UPS lost my package!!!! But my package wasn't even shipped according to my Drop-off package receipt!!!!! It's still in the Label created stage and never got shipped after 2 weeks of drop off, and obviously they lost my package in the store!!!!!! And the guy even told me to deal with the amazon seller and customer service on my own!!!!!! SO I waited 2 weeks for my returned package to be shipped by them, and walked more than 1 mile to their store to check the status of my package 2 times, and now I need to spend more time to deal with their mistakes!!!!!!! There was no Sorry or any apology, just the attitude that "well, there is nothing I can do that your package is lost, so deal with it yourself". DO NOT GO TO THAT STORE! read more

I went here three times in the past, but the last two visits were horrible. The customer service was pretty much non-existent. It was a pre-paid package that needed to be dropped off, but the owner I assume didn't even greet or say anything, as if your pre-paid package is taking away his business. If he wants my business in the future, the service could be better so that I am willing to spend money on supplies from his store. read more

Really awful service! I have been in twice now and each time the employees were outrageously rude and unhelpful. They are also not at all knowledgeable about UPS practices. Neither employee knew anything about billing a third party. They charge to use the computer to print out a label (fair enough) but there is no built in timer or payment system. this ups store on madison ave between 37th and 38th st saved me some time but maybe not so in the money dept they ship via the ups and usps way plus do notary and passports and carry shipping supplies , mailbox service all at prices that are almost double. it's all about saving time so i will deal with the higher cost and it's a small place inside so if you have more then 3 customers inside it might feel tight moving around. i needed passports photo, some notary public stuff and have it shipped next day via ups letter pak which this place does so i don't have to go to multi places. yes i could have gotten cheaper prices elsewhere but the ability to do it in one place in under 10 minutes is good enough for me. read more

Most incompetent people particularly the owners. The only good employees they had are no longer there. Very nosey ask too many questions about personal life. eventually makes you feel kind of uncomfortable. Poor air circulation I feel kind of bad for the people that work in those conditions. And to top it off they can't even properly pack. I sent out a glass vase to my mother and it arrived shattered. Go there at your own risk. read more

Please !!! people should be careful how you use The UPS Store #1492. At 244 Madison Ave New York , NY 10016 to ship your package even though you add an insurance on your package in case if your package get lost or the ups store stole your package and you will recover your items but apparently no. The store won't paid your money back. Basically, this ups store will made you approach an insurance on your package but when your package get lost or the store stole your package. The store won't paid your package due to it happened to me when I shipped my package to that ups store and that ups store stole my package but they refused to replace my package upon my package has an insurance coverage.This issue had be going on since last year until now, probably more then six months.They kept telling me my package still on under investigation by the fake UPS Security. I think, this is ridiculous and unacceptable for The UPS store to stole my package without replacement, therefore I will never recommend he or she to shipped their valuable and expensive items to that store so that they won't go through procedure I had been experience with that store.
