Usually, I've had no problems sending my returns through here, but I discovered an exception. An Old Navy package that I had sent through this UPS store for returns in April ended up at Macy's somehow. I found this out because Macy's sent it back to me in a package that just arrived today, with a note saying that I attempted to return it to Macy's, which I did not. My package was clearly sealed and labeled, and had the printed slip on the inside. But now that I have the package back, it's too late to send back for a refund. I know there's nothing that can be done about it now, but I'm honestly confused as to how a package clearly labeled for returns to one major chain ended up sent through a completely different company's return system. And now I can't get that money back. The Pleasant Street staff are nice and I don't want to be *that* customer, but please do better in the future. read more

I rent a box here..Very tiny & they are now raising the price to $160 every six months.. When I went in to pay my usual fee I was disappointed I had not received any notification of this increase.. With AAA,I was used to paying $110 after my AAA deduction..Now with the AAA deductible I have to pay $140.. I will not be renewing my rental box.. Also..Today ..Customer Service was Hostile & the icing on the Cake was them telling me they do not have my packages today even though my tracking information says they have arrived & their store has sent me notifications they are at the store.. I peeked around the corner to see if they were there & saw them on the floor .. If I hadn't done this peeking they would have sent me home with no packages.. I live quite a distance away from this store & being told I have no packages & having to break their rules to find & receive my packages by peeking around the corner for a split second to find my packages was stressful & am no longer doubting my decision to move on .. read more

One star seems like more than this UPS store deserves! I was returning an Amazon package. I selected the option to drive to a UPS store vs a UPS drop off location to save the shipping cost. The items ( both in their original boxes and sealed ) came in a larger box. I did not to seal the larger box. Nor was I, according to the Amazon required to. I didn't even need the original packaging. When the not very warm and welcoming clerk (who did not make eye contact either ) scanned my QR code ...he said " you need to go over there and get yourself some tape" I asked why? He replied " you need to tape the box." Confused, I asked why...he replied " it says it right there, and pointed to the QR code. Which read "Customer Packing". I had not read that. As I had selected the "no need" to package this item, UPS will do it for you." I explained that I had selected the " no need to package this item" He was dismissive once again and said "well you need to get tape." At this point I was feeling frustrated and perplexed.As I walked towards the wall to select tape to purchase, under my breath I called him a jerk, he started yelling and said " you called me a dick...get out!! Get out now! I said I called you a jerk... the other clerk chimed in a said " we have you on camera and I heard it" they both began to yell.. " get out". I do not feel badly calling him a jerk. Being treated so unprofessionally by a rude, sarcastic,dismissive man who acted as if I was putting him out, was ridiculous. Where has customer service, compassion and understanding gone!! This location is fine. The people have always been nice, and I've never had a problem with their service. However, I'll never go back. I still have a headache hours after being in there. They recently (don't recall it happening prior) started scenting the place with heavy-duty air freshener chemicals. Just awful. If you're allergic, asthmatic, migraine-vulnerable, or don't want to leave there stinking like some kind of toxic fragrance, find a different UPS Store or location. There are others, and that's where I'll go from now on. Note: when people start using super-toxic air polluting chemicals like that, they're often trying to cover something else up, whether it be mold, sewage, dirty carpet smell, animal odors, or otherwise bad air quality. It is not often these days where excellent customer service is had but that is exactly what you will receive at the Northampton location of the UPS store. I have been here numerous times and have been amazed at how overly helpful and kind they have been. I've dealt with different personnel and every one has provided great information, helpful advice and outstanding customer service. Today I went in for probably the eighteenth time and Pete was there to once again offer help and kindness and superb service. It's so rare these days that I felt compelled to give them a shout out!! I just wanted to say how amazing Joseph was in helping us ship some equipment and following up on it. I had sent some tube lights for photography from your location and they disappeared. Joseph took the time to help me track them down and when they were returned to the store (as I was on the phone) he noticed how poorly they were packed as the box was destroyed. He took the time to check them to confirm they were still in tact and repackaged them properly to ensure they would make the journey. He even checked in with the pick up to confirm they were put on the truck. One of the previous employees who picked up blew me off and said we checked it in and put it in a pile to go, thus it was on UPS who told us that they never got it. There was no ownership or concern. If I wanted that I could go to the Post Office for cheaper.Joesph took the time to rectify this situation and I am grateful to him for his effort. In this time of poor customer service, it was wonderful to encounter someone less invested in pointing fingers and more invested in creating longer relationships with returning customers. If you have a choice, ship elsewhere. The young employees entered the address incorrect 3 times. At the last attempt I was assured the mailing address was in fact correct even though the receipt did not match the print out I gave him. Needless to say, my package disappeared, and the irresponsible employees never called to tell me it was finally returned to the store. After some investigation the package was eventually found in the store. When the owner refused to rectify the situation I mentioned making a compliant to which he replied "if you call you will get me, I'm the owner of the store", I then suggested calling the main office and he said "well then it's just he said she said". At this point I can no longer return my item and the rude owner wouldn't even refund the shipping. Going to ups cost me $101.83 to return something that should have been $12 in shipping. read more

This UPS Store (#0325 in Northampton, MA) has very poor customer service. We were hoping to have a set of fine antique china delivered to this store to be packed by them and shipped to us in Virginia. We were told that they could not take payment for this over the phone. I was told that people ship drugs, etc., using fake names and credit cards. I told the Manager, John, that with 35 years of law enforcement I didn't need drugs and fraud explained to me. (Remember, they were being paid to pack the items so they would know exactly what was in the package.) I was told that the courier (who I don't know) delivering the items would need my credit card number, pin number, expiration date and would have to SIGN FOR MY CREDIT! So if some stranger with my credit info puts an "X" on the card machine that the UPS Store is somehow "protected." I tried to explain that they don't know this person either but John said that they have surveillance cameras so that was OK!?! It shouldn't be this hard! Isn't packing and shipping what they do? Avoid. I had taped up the box at home, but ran out of tape before I could finished the last edge. The clerk at this UPS store demanded a dollar for (literally) three inches of packing tape, and also made it clear that she really didn't give a sh*t if a customer found that stingy policy obnoxious. On the other hand, the US post office nearby on main street is fantastic. Friendly staff, free priority-mail boxes, not stingy with tape. Plus you can drop off 24/7 using their automated postage machine. The owner's response is just wrong. My box was sealed with one-and-a-half inch packing tape. I had a very negative experience there with the young man that was staffing the counter. There is a sign outside of the store that limits 2 people which is very reasonable, but you don't know if there are two people in the store unless you walk through the front door. I did and was immediately yelled by this young man to get out - now asked kindly but very rudely. I was astounded to be treated this way. I certainly would comply had I know the store had it's capacity. I will never go there again and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. Rude young employees! No place to leave prepaid packages during Covid so you have to wait in line, unlike USPS. I'm a senior and told the employee he was rude because he kept telling me to get in line. I tried to explain that it was prepaid and he then stated that I was rude for not waiting in line. Not trustworthy! Often use this UPS store & wait in long lines to get receipt for prepaid, preprinted packages while others drop off without receipt. Last Saturday morning I had an appointment and couldn't wait, so tried to drop off but employee wouldn't let me! When i went back in the afternoon, a second employee said its ok to just leave packages, so i told him what other employee said (who was also there doing nothing), and he got wishy-washy, so i again asked what the policy is and then he said he doesnt reccommend it, so apparently they have had issues with employee theft! read more

This past Wednesday, a package arrived at my door that had been incorrectly delivered to my address. That day, I called the UPS 800-number and told them about the situation. They told me someone would pick up the package the next day (Thursday). On Thursday, when the package still wasn't picked up, I called again, and another representative told me that it would be picked up tomorrow (Friday). When Friday came and the package still was not taken, I called for a third time and explained this to them. They said they didn't know why I was told that the package would be picked up the next day, because the return request wasn't even processed yet and the package likely wasn't going to be picked up until the next Monday. The label was already damaged by the sun, it was due to rain tomorrow, and the package looked like it might contain medication, so I did not want the person that the package was intended for to need to wait that long and have the package be ruined, so I asked the representative if it would make more sense for me to just bring the package to the UPS store. She said that would be faster, so we agreed that she would cancel the return request and I would bring the package to the UPS store that evening. All of the phone representatives were kind and courteous. When I went to the UPS store, I was told that they could not help me, and I would need to contact the 800-number that I already called three times. She would not let me explain the situation, and just asked "do you want the 800-number or not?" A customer next to me asked what the issue was, and I explained the above (which I was not able to do to the representative because she wouldn't let me). The store representative overheard me and said they would take it just this once, but made it clear that she was doing me a favor and not to expect to do this on a regular basis. Now, remember, I have nothing to do with this package. I am neither the sender nor the intended recipient. I am trying to do both the intended recipient and UPS a favor by returning it. I could have just thrown the package away or let it sit until Monday and let UPS receive a complaint from the recipient that they never received their package or that the contents were ruined. I haven't been to the UPS store in over two years. I don't do this on a regular basis, and I was trying to be helpful. Between the phone calls, being on hold, driving to and from the store, and waiting in line, I've spent a couple hours this week on this package and will get nothing in return. I understand that you might not take these returns on a regular basis, but there is no need to be rude to me about it and act like I'm being an inconvenience. I may have been given incorrect information by the representative, but that is not my fault. From this experience, I have two suggestions: 1. Make sure the phone representatives are all on the same page. If the request was still pending, I should not have been told on two separate occasions that they were processed and someone was coming tomorrow. They were all kind and courteous, but they should know whether an order is processed or not, and they should know whether or not I can return a package to the store. 2. UPS representatives in the store need to be courteous and helpful, even if they cannot provide the requested service, particularly, I think, when someone is going out of their way to be helpful. I'm not getting anything out of this. The least you could do is not be rude to me. read more

The service and professionalism at this store is amazing. My daughter needed to ship something overseas in a hurry, and the manager was **extremely** helpful and patient as he explained our options to me over the phone. I was feeling quite anxious because it was a last-minute job (and I was probably not the easiest customer to deal with) but the manager and the staff made sure my daughter's package was shipped on time, and treated us with utmost professionalism and courtesy. Online retailers advertise free return shipping, but provide UPS free return shipping labels that are only free if customer drives the return package to a UPS Store franchise. $12.45 if you want it picked up from your house. Once steered into a UPS Store, you might need 4 cents-worth of packing tape to finish securing the box. UPS Store charges $1 for two inches of packing tape. I have been patronizing this UPS store for as long as I have been renting a box here--over 10 years--and I have experienced consistently good customer service. Whenever an employee made a mistake, s/he corrected it, and in the process, learned something. As for those customers complaining about higher prices charged for extra tape or convenience, those charges are perfectly reasonable as they provide customers with something of value. For those who call such charges "capitalism at its worst", they reveal their complete ignorance and defective education about capitalism, along with their arrogant, parasitic, and rationally and morally indefensible demand for something of value in exchange for nothing of value to the provider of good or service. read more

I contacted several other UPS Store locations and researched other businesses in Pioneer Valley and this was the only place that was flexible enough to accommodate my specialty shipment. I am SO GRATEFUL for the people that work there, they are so kind and helpful and went out of their way to assist me; I also received great customer service and a follow up call about my shipment. I had many large and heavy belongings to be picked up from one of the local colleges to be shipped to my home in California... after calling and coordinating with the people at UPS they were able to pick up all of my belongings from the college, box them, label them, and mail them to my home in California where they arrived safely within days. I was so pleased with their business and was astonished by their reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this business. read more

Absolutely do not use this business to send over night mail. My wife had a legal document that needed to get from Mass to NY in one day, overnight. She brought it in on Weds at 9:50 AM. It was not marked as stamped on their tracking until after 6PM on Weds evening. It was then delivered on Friday at 3 pm (a day later than promised and too late for court date at which it was needed). When we called them on Thursday after seeing on tracking screen that it would not be delivered until Friday.they tried to claim that it was brought in at 9:50 pm. They were not helpful in any way. On the Friday it was delivered they stated they would call the following Monday about re-payment. No call. Now it is supposedly "under investigation" and still no refund over a week later. Will definitely not be using this shop. Very disorganized and not friendly. Unfortunate as they have been helpful in the past read more

Usually all has gone well for us (nothing ever lost!), but UPS stores aren't cheap and sometimes this one can be either busy or slowed by customers with very complex packing or unusual shipping requests. This place used to be great. But I'll find another UPS store in the future. Poor customer service by manager. A check was not delivered that I'd enclosed in a simple shipment of some drawings. When trying to track what might have happened, I contacted the store and left a message as to why I was calling. After several tries, the manager finally returned my call and said she'd investigate. No follow through. I called several times in the ensuing couple of weeks and still no call back. Still waiting. Meanwhile, I paid a $35 stop-payment fee at my bank. Still do';t have a clue where the check went, but it didn't go in the envelope. Nor was the envelope tampered with in transport. Evidently the check decided to stay at the store. read more
