I used this location to ship an item purchased from a Bay Area auction house. After submitting bids to several area pack and ship vendors, I chose the UPS Store #7080 based on their excellent reviews and their competitive bid amount. After submitting the quote request to the store via email (with a direct link to the lot description, including dimensions), I received a written quote in the amount of $170.82. Approximately one week later, I received a call on a Saturday evening from the store operator, indicating that the item was "larger than expected" (even though they knew the dimensions when calculating the initial quote), and that the new price would be $295 - an increase of 73 percent from the original, written quoted amount. Because it was the weekend, this was an independent franchisee/small business owner, and the item was basically packed and ready to go, I did not object to the new amount over the phone. Unfortunately, after reviewing my credit card activity later in the week, I noticed that the final, posted charge was in the amount of $375.15 - or 120 percent above the original, quoted amount. I immediately contacted the store operator via email to inquire and object to the charge, and without offering an explanation for why the amount increased again (without my consent), I was told that the initial number was "just an estimate." Unfortunately for the store operator, I have quite a bit of experience working with shippers across the globe, and a 120 percent increase over a written shipping quote is not just "how it works." I offered the store operator an opportunity to refund the amount above the initial, written quoted amount, but he was unwilling to make that accommodation. In response to his unauthorized charging of my card - an act that may constitute a criminal offense in many jurisdictions - I indicated that regretfully, I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company and leaving an account of what transpired on feedback/review aggregators. This is the first occasion I've ever had to resort to leaving feedback (positive or negative), and I hope it is the last. If transacting with this UPS Store franchise, please monitor your credit card charges, to ensure that the posted amount aligns with the quote/price that you initially received. read more

I've been here a few times and now I know to travel the extra couple of miles (it's not the closest ups store to me) because they offer superior service. The man I take to be the proprietor is also the notary and he has been on-site and available to provide notary service late in the day at least a couple of times. He always seems to be in a good humor, has a sense of humor and seems genuinely grateful for our business, which goes a long way with me. Highly recommend. read more

I'm writing to share my experience of discrimination - I visited this store for the first time, and was greeted by VK with passive aggressive hostility. I'm visibly Southeast Asian and LGBTQ+ presenting. When I waited in line, I saw VK greet the previous white-presenting female customer with respect and a smile, which is what I would've expected. Unfortunately when it was my turn to drop off a package, it was visibly clear that VK was annoyed to see me for some reason, when I haven't done or said anything. VK didn't say hello or thank you, and when I said thank you to him, he didn't acknowledge me at all. What kind of customer service is that, especially when he was visibly kinder to the white customer before me. I'm extremely disappointed to receive this kind of attitude from VK, sadly another BIPOC person, and would urge all of you to reconsider visiting this store. This is by far the best UPS Store I have ever visited. It is well-staffed, so there is rarely a wait. Everyone is friendly and efficient, and they are patient with people who are unfamiliar with the shipping procedures. It is open 7 days a week. My elderly mom asked me to bid on a fragile art glass light (glass shade and glass base) for her as she was in the hospital. We live in the Midwest. After winning the auction figuring out what shipping company to trust to pick it up from the auction house in Oakland, pack it and ship it solely based on online reviews was nerve wracking. I contacted four different shippers via email. Monica, the manager of this UPS store replied providing a detailed estimate when the others just provided a price. I decided to select the UPS store and am very happy that I did. Monica was great to work with and provided excellent customer service. The light was very well packaged and arrived undamaged. Through a dynamic of miscommunication and misunderstanding on both our parts, I purchased a priority mail envelope for approximately $20. When it was soon revealed I had to retrieve the already sealed mail item, and actually had to finish the passport application process with an authorized agent, I was assured USPS would be able to reuse my envelope. Unfortunately, they did not. I came back to refund the empty and expensive envelope and was refunded accordingly with virtually no hassle. I appreciate this UPS location. I went to this new location of UPS store and was greeted immediately. I wanted to rent a mailbox. Right now they are running a promotion that if you rent for a whole year then they are giving three months free. This is a savings almost $100 a year.
