Make sure to get a price quote before completing any services. I brought 99 lbs of personal records for shredding. Called Millbrae & Sloat SF locations and they told me $1/lb for shredding but they are further away from me and their bins were pretty full. Found the UPS Store in San Bruno and while the customer service was very good, I was shocked when I found out the price for shredding was twice as high as the other stores. I was too tired to lug the 100 lbs back to my car and start driving all over the city to find bins that weren't full so I paid the stated amount. They did give me a 10% discount but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I feel like I was taken advantage of. They tried to charge me a $1 for tapping the preprinted label onto the box, which is usually free at other ups locations, and $1 for adding a little tape on my box, which I get it - shouldn't be free- you are responsible for taping the box. Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. I spoke with a woman named Crystal who referred to herself as a supervisor. I paid for 2-day air shipping and due to delays was told that the package would arrive on the 3rd day in the morning. When it reached early afternoon I inquired directly and was contacted by Crystal. She was altogether dismissive and had no valid information to provide. She provided the answer that "1 Day Air packages" were not being delivered on-time so I shouldn't expect a 2-day air package to arrive on-time either. Please train your supervisors in customer service, I would avoid UPS as much as possible after this experience. read more

Christmas is right around the corner so my friend, who lives in SoCal, decided to send me a gift. I told her to send it to this store to avoid a potential thief from stealing it off my porch. I called this store twice letting them know I was expecting a package to be delivered to them. They both told me they don't receive packages and told me to contact UPS directly. I called UPS and they confirmed that it was going to be delivered to their store. Package was delivered so I go to pick it up and they told me that I would have to pay a fee for "using their address". Apparently, they're a franchise store, after confirming with UPS customer service. So my friend had to pay for the shipping at the point of origin and I was also charged a fee to free my package from this franchise store. It costs them absolutely nothing to have a package delivered to them, but yet they pass on this nonexistent cost to the customers. Just an FYI, to avoid having packages shipped to this particular store and if you do have a package shipped here, expect a fee to be charged for "using their address". Happy holidays! read more

I am only giving one star because you have to in order to write a review. This is the worst UPS store, really don't even waste your time or energy coming here. The simplest service request will be the greatest inconvenience and annoyance to the owners who you think would be interested in running a successful business. Trust me driving a few extra miles will be worth your time, this is by far the worst customer service ever and a bad representation of the UPS franchise. This is the WORST.. I only went there because it was close.. NEVER AGAIN.. The customer service and the cleanliness is HORRIBLE.. I went in and there was a a woman helping a man and so another gentle man came out of the back and started moving boxes off the counter.. HE HAD NO SHOES ON.. waved me over to do a return for Amazon, as soon as he scanned the code, she left her customer to see what I had in the box? Can't believe they charge $3 for taping my package, but all other UPS stores didn't ask for this service charge. It's not about the small amount of charge but the quality of service. ***UNBELIEVABLE!!!*** Incase anyone has any issues with this store contact UPS Corporate Customer Service at 1-800-789-4623 and reference store #810 San Bruno, CA and have the associate start a claim for you. I came in today to print out a few jpegs from my email (bank statements) and the program on their computer defaulted the print outs at 10 copies. I had to adjust the number to 1 copy for my second and third files. I explained to the front counter lady who has very limited understanding and only basic computer knowledge and showed her step by step what had happened and she didn't believe me. I had a huge altercation with her and the manager in front of 2 other customers and was forced to pay for extra copies that I didn't even need. I was in total disbelief through the whole process and very upset that I was being overcharged. So I called CORPORATE and started a case with them which will be reported and on their record. THE LADY DEALT WITH "DAKSHA" is AN IDIOT. Please avoid her at all costs. I mean look at all of these previous reviews and complaints about their customer service, and spot the common denominator. I could really care less for forking out 6 extra rollers for something I didn't need, the money is not the issue. The issue is the ignorance I had to deal with. My advice to the manager here to to properly train your staff and make sure hey have adequate knowledge of the equipment and prompts so other customers do not have to deal with this issue! I used to work for the customer service department at Office Max and I know how to treat customers and I knew how to print copies. If you are to drop off an envelop with pre-printed label, and it's not adhered or doesn't have an envelop - STOP! You will be charged to reprint it to a self-stick label. Make sure you are just dropping off an envelop or package with the pre-printed label stuck to it all ready. Or else you will be charged a dollar each time. Otherwise the lady, wife of the owner is pleasant. However, the owner, the man who is usually there seems to be unpleasant and is very rude. read more

This store has excellent customer service. I've been to this location several times and will continue to patronize it. One time, I wanted to avoid taking my infant out of her car seat, so I parked right out front and the woman who works there came out to pick up the packages I was dropping off so I wouldn't have to leave the car unattended. When I arrived today, the front door was open. She offered to close it so that my now-toddler could walk around the store without escaping. Her manner has always been kind and thoughtful each time I've visited, making the errand enjoyable. It is rare for there to be more than one person in line ahead of me, so I know I can count on a quick trip (unlike the post office). read more

I have gotten worse service at other UPS before, such as staff complaining about getting customers 10 mins before closing, but this place is quite friendly with me even when I walk into the store at the very last minute (for about 3 times now). I only do drop-offs since I print labels at home and buy my services online, so I can't speak for their other services. I personally understand if they shut down the system a few minutes early, or just cant process my packages at the moment. Consistent and extraordinary service. They know my name and my needs. I have used Livescan for a new job, notary service and of course pickup and returns as well as packing and shipping. This UPS store is very unreliable- it closes earlier than its advertised hours, without notice to customers. Though I don't use UPS often, this San Bruno location is the closest UPS store to me and in the past year, I have gone there at least three times within their advertised/posted operating hours, only to find the store closed. Today I used the store located in San Bruno for the second time and as in the first time they tryed to charge me for the white papers that came with my documents. It was absurd. How can they want to charge me for white papers with nothing in there?? The machine could not scan my fingers the first few times, which caused this process to drag on a bit longer than expected. Don't go there. The store lady was unbelievably rude. They mishandled customers' package and messed up with tracking record. Then, the lady asked me to sign off for picking up package on a piece of paper(real a piece of paper, not official or anything) because her husband let other customer signed off on my package info and they could not retrieve my info. When I told the Indian lady "No, can't sign on like that" Then she started fighting me telling I'm not helping her to release the package, other customers were happy to sign on a piece of paper, "Don't talk to me I'm working", "People make mistake" "Don't use my store since we make mistake and now you may leave" Can you believe these comments she said? I don't expect much from a UPS Store. That said, I feel that the lady who owns or manages the store should understand the very basics of customer service. Ordering your customers to "go put the package over there", for instance, shows her ignorance when it comes to customer service. I like to leave mostly positive reviews because I like to pay it forward but I am kind of tired of the gentleman owner here. I come here often for Amazon and Zappos drop offs. I actually don't like going in if the husband is there....I tried to make conversation with him once and he started ranting how it's unfair that they(UPS) have to prepare packages and they don't get paid for it. I am assuming that you agree to that when you purchase a franchise. Today I brought a package in without a label but had the Amazon scan code. The gentleman wanted to charge me $2 to tape it up. I said Amazon would not allow me to print the label myself (which I was actually able to do with my second Amazon package) and I would just run home (I live 3 blocks away) and get my tape. He said no, he can't allow me to have my package back and I can't leave it there. I proceeded to say that Amazon doesn't allow me to print the label myself. He started to go off again and the wife came in and said don't worry about, for me to just leave it. He continued to rant at me until she told him to let it go. I understand this is difficult since they are having to do more work but they should take it up with Amazon as I am only following Amazon's order to allow UPS to pack it up. I had a prepaid packet to go out all I needed was a UPS envelope and the clerk told me I had to pay $1 for him to tape the label on the envelope. I ship frequently and have always been given the pouches with the envelopes to insert the label. Not my problem if they don't have the pouches and I certainly am not paying that douche $1 to tape my label on. Being a UPS store, they should keep them stocked. read more

The workers here aren't friendly. Sometimes when I go in they don't even talk to me, just take my package or point to the pile for me to put it down myself. I see in another review that they helped the person tape their box for 50 cents, well, they made me pay 5 dollars to buy a new tape roll to tape my box. I had a return shipping label from my company I was sending the docs too and all I needed was a UPS document holder. I cannot believe the couple who run this place are still in business! After many visits to this UPS store I have had several bad encounters with the older couple who run the store. On one occasion after handing them packages to ship, the women serving me told me to stack those packages against the wall on the other side of the store. I complied but thought the whole thing was very strange. After all it is not my job to stack packages. In addition she was rude in the manner she asked me to stack packages. I've gone there about four times for a notary. The older guy who does the notary is a hit or miss when it comes to customer service. I paid him the $20 bucks for my two signatures, he took the money from my hand. I said thank you he said nothing. Went to the register and put the bill up like checking to see if bill is fake or not. I don't need to be hugged and kissed when I'm getting my things done, but a hello, thank you wouldn't hurt.
