It's hard to get people to let me decide if/when i need help (so far, not usually) Kitty (Nikita) met me at the counter and reached for my package. I declined her assistance with that, and she efficiently took care of my package. I give her high marks and high regard for respecting my point view. She seemed young to have such social acumen. Life in the time of Coronavirus! I needed a Notary, so we swung by the UPS store and they were a happy to help. They provided immediate friendly service at a reasonable fee for this legal service. I was glad to spot the copy machines there, as I usually go to Staples with larger sets of copies, and their machines are often busy. I probably don't use this service as much as I normally would, since the actual UPS store is only about two blocks away, and I mail my packages directly from there. The only issue we had was the six employees clustered around the registers not keeping any kind of distance from each other, or from the customers. read more

I rarely give one star reviews, but my experience at this particular UPS Store was so incompetent, I had to walk out. I generally use a different UPS Store, close to my work but not on my way home. There I have always received the greatest service. I only recently realized that there was one of these at Marigold. I had to send an Express Mail (Now know as Priority Mail Express) document to a government PO Box. I went in the store and told the friendly clerk that I needed to sent it Express Mail. He asked me what type of envelope I wanted. I replied that Express Mail has it own mailers, either an envelope, or a box. He was clueless. He asked a colleague who came over and said that they did not do USPS Express Mail. I asked the the other UPS store did? (I sent such a package to another government office.) He had no answer. Then he told me I could send it UPS Express. When I told him I thought that they could not deliver to PO Boxes, he told me I was correct. He then said they could send it but without the guarantee of next- or 2-day delivery because he did not know when they would be picked up. I asked whether he meant that pick-up may not be in the am or the pm, or that pick-up may be in 2-3 days, he could not specify. As I wanted to just be done, I told him that was fine, and I wanted to go ahead and send it even without the guarantee, he proceeded to answer the telephone and walk away. The other employee had stood there and listened to the whole conversation. He now stood there and just looked at me, still not knowing what to do. Obviously, it was not that employee's fault. He apparently had received no training. I decided to just drive to the post office. read more

I had the pleasure of opening a new mail box account with Brenna, Sage, and Emily this afternoon and was blown away by their expert advice and top-of-the-line customer service. Is harassing customers about wearing a mask a good idea, after its a now proven fact they don't work and are not needed for healthy people? I went in to drop off a package, inside the store less than a minute, and I get a "do you have a mask" before I even get a hello. I was informed by the virtue signaler behind the counter that if I don't have one next time I need to go to another store. I use to get my mail here for the past ten years. Customer service use to be good but this new batch of kids working has been horrible. Canceled my box a few months ago. Today (1/11/23) went in around 2:45 for an Amazon return. The three kids "not" working behind the counter said they won't accept my return cause water dripped off the box. Don't know if they understand what happens when it rains and people walk from their cars in it. Needless to say I left the item and told them to figure it out since he refused to scan my Amazon QR code. Called Amazon and told them all about the horrible customer service and they opened an investigation into it and this specific UPS store. And already got my refund from Amazon. I've owned retail stores over the past 20 years and I'd be embarrassed to have my business open with the group of entitled kids working at the UPS store. read more

Ian was very helpful in designing a new layout for our company business cards as well as designing a vinyl wrap sticker for our promotional cookie tins. I was very happy with the quoted price on both separate orders. The business cards turned out great and turnaround time was less than a week. We contacted this store from out of state to set up a "local" address for us before we moved to SLO. After spending an hour or so in another UPS store filling out paperwork, notarizing etc., paid, they had a box for us. The manager sent me an email with our "new address", so we started to use that for 'EVERYTHING'. To include: Friends/Family, Banking... and the DMV. Well, she gave us the wrong address. So therefore, everything was messed up. Banking, friends/family, Credit Report, Drivers License etc....... The UPS Store's response to the hell I went through, a few months "free" mailbox use. Sorry, that is not going to cut it. After many months of pain dealing with this, and hours at the DMV, on the phone with my bank, creditors, etc., I do not recommend this location to anyone. period. Not to mention, the "actual address" was confusing to USPS and UPS, we had our mail returned to sender a few times because it is not in the system. read more

He's especially helpful when I need to customize the layout or other features that give it a very professional touch. The other employees are always helpful with anything I present to them: packaging, mailing, printing, and the list goes on. I wish the USPS was like this place. Every time I have come in here I have been met with smiling, warm, friendly employees. I usually am just dropping off a package and since I am quite ignorant about a lot of mail handling I usually show up with a bunch of printed labels and stickers that I never know where to put. They are always happy to explain, help, offer tape, or pens, and finish everything for me. The store is small, but clean and while you can experience wait times when one or two people are in line, it's worth it for the pleasurable experience/service. read more

Do not use this store for UPS shipping. We shipped a time sensitive package on a Saturday morning, using overnight air service and were advised by Jesse in the San Luis Obispo UPS Store that the package would be delivered Sunday morning by 1030am. However, the San Luis Obispo UPS Store actually set it up for a MONDAY delivery rather than SUNDAY as requested, AND they didn't enter the billing information into the computer record correctly. When we checked the online tracking information for the delivery information we realized the error made by the San Luis Obispo UPS Store and immediately called to see what could be done. In speaking to the person at the San Luis Obispo UPS Store we tried to verify that UPS delivers on Sunday, and the girl advised that she didn't know. I laughed at that, to which I was told I was being rude, but really, you work for a UPS store and you don't know if UPS delivers on Sunday? Yikes. Long story short, we've been on the phone for many calls with both UPS, and the San Luis Obispo UPS Store. UPS isn't able to help us because the billing information was entered incorrectly by the San Luis Obispo UPS Store. The San Luis Obispo UPS Store kept advising they were "working on it". We finally ended up having to have the shipment sent back to us because it was not delivered on time. The number of phone calls and follow up required by us rather than by the San Luis Obispo UPS Store, is ridiculous. The San Luis Obispo UPS Store provided horrible service on this from start to finish. I do not recommend the San Luis Obispo UPS Store for any UPS shipping services. read more

I have used the UPS shipping service from the Marigold Center many times over the past 15 years, and everything has always been fine. Today, I brought a box in to mail to my son in IL and was astounded by the prices quoted for an average size box. UPS ground would take 6 days for $25 (and that there was a "fuel surcharge" involved). When I balked at the delivery time (the box included baked goods) and said I would just go to the post office, the clerk said that I could send it Priority mail through the UPS store, that MAYBE it would arrive by Friday and the price was $55!!! Holy moley! I took the package over to the post office on Dalido and was told that Priority mail would have the box there by Thursday and the price was $21. Done. I realize that the UPS store is in business to make money, but a $34 markup on Priority mail was ridiculous. Thankfully I had options today...and will not be using this UPS store for shipping anything in the future. read more

The reason I put this on yelp is because people need to know delivery times are delayed which in my case was a very high price for overnight shipping.
