Actually, everyone at this UPS Store in San Pedro have always been helpful (coming out to my car to help me carry boxes in, and taking my pre-postage boxes instead of waiting behind customers need more help than just drop-offs). Does not deserve one star, too fucking slow. Had to wait 49 minutes to get freaking document notarized.

Anyone using the scan to email feature on the multifunction copiers should be careful. The store clerk helped me earlier today when the machine I was using wasn't working. After entering my email address and scanning the document it appears that the last user of the machine was also copied which he didn't notice . The result was that a stranger now has my homeowners insurance information. Now, I do take responsibility for scanning it there in the first place, not a good idea. My point is the email addresses should not save on the machine nor append in transactions so be careful. Do not scan anything with personal information. Other than this worrisome fiasco..he was very nice. Stick to mailing your packages.. 5 star for packages read more

Two months ago I wrote a somewhat negative review of this location. Not because the facility was far or dark or dingy, but because of a particular employee who had poor customer service skills. Now being that I am "the don" I was tempted to send some goons in there to lively up the joint but instead I turned to the power of the keyboard. Since writing my original review, I've noticed a significant change in the attitude of the the young lady whom I felt was unsavory towards me. Now when I go into UPS on a weekly basis like I do, I hear more "sirs" and "have a nice day" being used and I can respect that. I grew up in the Bronx, NY - and I feel that anyone should be able to walk into a UPS store with their head held high and treated with the proper respect.... So, being that their attitudes have changed, it's only fair my review is changed. 4/5 for this location and the only reason I didn't give 5 is because there's always room for improvement -everywhere! WORST SERVICE EVER. Spent $70 to ship a diamond ring overnight only to be told by UPS it was just dropped off at their door. EXCUSE ME? Who spends $70 to ship something without getting a signature? Was it because the UPS Store Owner decided to pocket the $2 UPS probably charges for the signature? Talk about a false sense of security. This is absolutely ridiculous. Shipping companies trap you in a catch 22. In order to insure a package, you have to disclose the contents and EACH TIME I'd insured and discloses contents, the box "disappears" or arrives "empty". It's happened to me 3x in 1 year. It's like telling a criminal... yeah, take me! I'm a Cartier watch!! Is it too much to ask that a business conduct themselves in a professional and competent manner? After freaking out by finding out the UPS driver just "dropped" a $5000 Diamond Ring outside a front door, I called and asked why no signature was collected... what did the "sweet & polite" girl at the counter tell me? We're sorry you weren't happy with our services! WTF!! A $5000 ring is missing because you forgot to check the "signature required" box when I specified it needed it and she's "sorry, I wasn't happy with their service"!. In other words if you like to pay top notch (retail) dollar for shipping and LOVE to gamble whether or not your package will actually arrive, use them. Who doesn't love to ship items without being guaranteed they'll arrive? I should've used the post office... at least if they dropped the ball and "lost" my package, I'd only be out a $5000 ring and $25 at most. This business charged me $70 to ship something and couldn't be bothered to ask for a signature. The girl on the phone had the nerve to be annoyed I was upset... yeah, it's not like it was her $$. I had to use this store a few times now and every time they have been very nice, friendly and helpful. The first time the owner was there and she spent the time necessary to help ship my package as inexpensive as possible. The other times the owner was not there but the people helping were again the same as the owner. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about shipping. While you stand in line it seems that the help is slow but when you are being serviced they spend the time necessary to get your package shipped correctly. Expensive as heck. Here's my story. I went in to ship something that measured 5 x 7 x 47 inches and weighed 18 lbs. According to the website, it should have cost me $30 for UPS ground shipping. They rang me up at $72!(excluding the extra $15 for packaging the item for me.) I initially thought i must have navigated the website incorrectly and that the $30 i was expecting was wrong. But no, i was right. When i looked at the receipt, the dimensions were all wrong--they charged me for 13 x13 x 49 inches. When i called them, they said that because they used their own packaging, they billed me according to the size of the box. Really? Why didn't you tell me that at the register? And why did they put it in a humungous box? If i had wrapped it up myself, i would have paid only $30. But my bill came out to $98. yes, $98 when you add in the packaging cost. good customer service would have been to say something like "hey, it's going to cost you almost $100 to ship this if we package it for you. If you package it yourself, you'll save $70" Why don't they tell you at the register that they're charging you based on the size box they decide to put it in? The same item was delivered to me for $30, same UPS ground shipping. It came in a box too. So how the heck did this UPS store come up with $72? Of course when there are people behind you in line and no personal space, you don't want to stand at the register and argue about the price. When they later told me they billed me according to the size of the humungous box they put it in, I was disappointed. My recommendation to everyone out there is to not let this store package the item for you. You'll end up paying almost triple what you would pay if you packaged it yourself in the appropriately sized box. read more

I had my kids take passport pictures and when I got to the agency they refused the pictures. They did not follow regulations according to the passport place. 32.00 later I had to have them redone. I had gone to the Fedex store on Western just before going to UPS. I stood around for about 15 minutes while customer after customer was helped and I was ignored. I finally got fed up and left. I went to the UPS Store, walked in, and a very friendly store employee offered to help me. She took care of the packages I needed to send. I was in and out in 5 minutes.
