I prefer to leave positive reviews for places, but sometimes an experience is bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. I paid this UPS Store over $200 JUST for packaging four car wheels (over $50 per wheel). This did NOT include shipping -- I provided the labels separately. These were shipped as four separate shipments (one wheel per box) and every single wheel arrived damaged. When you are paying $50+ per wheel for what is ultimately cardboard and packing materials, the expectation is that you are paying for the store's expertise and professional judgment in packaging expensive, heavy items so they actually arrive safely and undamaged. I specifically chose to pay professionals because I wanted them packaged correctly and safely. I even called ahead to discuss box size and was told extra room would be left for bubble wrap, padding, and protective material to keep the wheels immobilized. Instead, the extra space was left empty. The wheels arrived sliding around inside oversized boxes with only a couple of lightweight packing pillows that did absolutely nothing to secure heavy metal wheels. There was no meaningful foam, Styrofoam, rigid protection, or face protection, which is especially frustrating because the wheel faces (the most exposed surface) are exactly what suffered the worst damage. Afterward, I spoke with the manager, Joseph, who was polite and acknowledged the wheels had been poorly packaged. He specifically told me the store should have offered a more robust packaging option, which I absolutely would have paid for had it been offered. He also told me he intended to refund the packaging charges but said he needed ownership approval and was confident it would be approved. The next day, ownership refused. I was then told to pursue a UPS insurance claim -- despite the store acknowledging the damage resulted from inadequate packaging. UPS reviews packaging as part of any claim, leaving me in the frustrating position of being expected to pursue reimbursement for damage the store itself acknowledged resulted from how the items were packed. I remained polite and patient over multiple calls and gave the store every opportunity to make this right. Unfortunately, after they refused to even refund the packaging charges, I was left to pursue other avenues. See the photos and judge for yourself how a heavy wheel would fare bouncing around in a box with that much empty space and so little protection. If you are shipping anything valuable, fragile, or heavy, I would think very carefully before trusting this location to package it. read more

This place does not offer full service and should be updated to say that online. What a waste of time coming here for no reason. It's so tacky to only have hand written signs all over the window saying they are closed and only let people who have po boxes access it. You can only pickup, you cannot drop off. I visited a friend for her birthday. I had to ship back an artwork and more challenging, two glass counter lanterns, and then odds and ends of things. I took them into this store and I met CJ. She was absolutely welcoming and adorable to begin with, but I was nervous about how those things were going to be treated, and I have to say that the job she did unpacking mine Things was just flawless. Everything was done with such care and nothing was left to chance. They were very busy and she was clear that they couldn't get to it that day but she sure got to it quickly enough and my things arrive today. I just have to thank her so much everybody. There was very nice and they obviously all like each other and work together well I cannot recommend this highly enough and when you get this kind of service especially right now in the world, you just can't help it stop and say thank you and appreciate it. There is a reason this store gets such a low rating. Agree w Sharon G. This store has declined. I brought in two rolled carpets in their original packaging from Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn together with a lampshade also in its original box with support cardboard insert on Nov 17, 2025 at 12:47 pm. I asked if the packing for each was okay and did they ship to Los Cabos, Mexico. Yes, I was told. I spent $523.71 for shipping and none of the three packages made it. Tracking showed the items moving around the country, back and forth. The lampshade found its way home to me eventually in Santa Fe in February. One carpet, a 6' by 9' wool rug which cost $599, was delivered to an address in Florida, never to be seen by me again. The other carpet made its way to La Paz, Baja, Mexico and was then returned to the UPS store. Instead of delivering it to my home, I had to cart it home in my SUV. That was about a week ago. Since the November shipment, I have visited the store maybe 7 times and made phone calls several as well as sending emails to discuss the situation plus supplying scanned documents showing the cost of the carpets and lampshade I had ordered, the sales receipt and tracking histories for the shipments. I expected compensation. I did not insure the items, but I would expect them to pay the shipping (they said they ship to Mexico and the packing was acceptable) and the $100 automatic insurance for the item they lost. Each time Joe the manage has come up with excuses. "Oh, we didn't pack the items. We can't take responsibility." They told me at the store the items were adequately packed for shipping. "Oh, the labels must have come off and it's your fault because you didn't remove the old ones." They put the new labels on and it is their responsibility to secure them, just as they do with return items. "We think there was Chinese textile content in the carpet and Mexico has some quotas and laws against certain Chinese-made goods to prevent them coming over the border to the US." That is true, but this obviously was meant to be shipped into, not out of Mexico. It was also a single carpet that came back, and it was for personal use in Mexico--hardly an effort at massive trade fraud. "We can't be expected to know all the rules and regulations of all the countries to which we ship." Then this UPS store probably shouldn't tell customers it can ship to those countries in the first place. That is exactly what the UPS store on Zafarano does: it refuses to ship internationally. Mexico is our neighbor and there is a lot of commercial, cultural and human traffic between Mexico and the SW US. We have a Mexican consulate in Albuquerque. If you are going to be in the business of shipping internationally, then you should know the rules for Mexico as a shipping destination. But that is not the whole story. This store has lost domestic shipments that they packed and labeled themselves. They packed my late husband's briefcase which I was trying to send to one of his protegees on the East coast. Somehow labels got switched and a walking stick arrived. The briefcase must have been misdelivered, or stolen, but it went missing. Because the case really had more sentimental value than monetary, I didn't complain in that instance, but the counter person at the UPS Store told me it happens sometimes because labels are not put on firmly and get transferred on the conveyor belt to other packages. What these histories say to me is that the Guadaloupe UPS Store #1750 is sloppy, greedy, insensitive and downright sleazy about doing the right thing when it makes mistakes. The fact that they kept making excuses, stringing me along, pretending to be investigating, and blaming the customer for their inadequacies is galling. I do not plan to ship from UPS Guadaloupe again. And my advice to you is you should not either. read more

My experiences here over the past few years have been extremely positive. UPS has streamlined its procedures, so even if there's a line, it doesn't take long to get to the counter. Best of all, the current employees (2025) are all quite Knowledgeable, courteous, patient, and smiling! Used to be great, but no more. I'm a longtime customer,11 years, and it's never been so bad. Examples in the past couple months: I looked on Amazon to see where a package I needed was, hadn't received notice of arrival. It said it had been signed for 3 days earlier. I called and was told it was there. The next day I received notice of that package. Other times I get notices and when I arrive, they tell me it hasn't been shelved, to come back later. I have a box for fast efficient service and for packages to be signed for. If packages are critical, like medicine, I'm in deep trouble. Also, every time I go, there is entirely new staff. Ill trained staff. Have no idea who the manager is because when I ask to speak to him, I'm told he isn't around. This used to be a great store! And the cost keeps going up! Just checked online and I see I'm paying $20 to $30 more a month than other UPS stores. Now I'm even more upset. read more

The issues I'm experiencing at this UPS Store location are continuing. I had a package that I've been awaiting, worth more than $550, which is now missing. This store claims I had already picked it up, which I have not. Thanks UPS store, I'm now out of $550. This store is total chaos in my experience, with several of the staff here being very unfriendly bordering on rude (including the manager on duty today), and with all of the continuing issues I've been experiencing I wouldn't recommend this location to ANYONE at this point. read more

I've been coming to this store for years and went out of my way to come here for quality service on this particular day. I also came here because I was returning a damaged UPS delivered package. I quickly learned that even though the package was delivered from UPS, the team at this UPS store would not help me to tape the package shut because UPS delivered it damaged to me. They felt there could be potential liability involved if they aided me in taping the package or lent me the tape to do it myself. They also explained that they are a franchise and are not connected to UPS deliveries so that was another reason they couldn't help me. Even though they had two large rolls of packing tape at the cash register, they required me to purchase cheap packing tape from them for $5 and watched me struggle to tape the box shut. They were helpful in aiding my effort to "unroll" the packing tape, because it was so flimsy and kept getting stuck on the tape roll. Ultimately, however, I went across the street to Fed Ex, and they provided stellar service. See photo below. Maria at Fed Ex was kind, professional, and helpful. When I called the UPS Store on Guadalupe after Fed Ex took care of me to let them know that I was disappointed they would not help me. Their manager explained that Fed Ex must have better insurance because they did not have the ability to help me tape the box. My advice to you is that if given the opportunity, go with the company that has better insurance and an exceptionally helpful team. One of my favorite stores in Santa Fe New Mexico has undergone some recent staffing and management changes. As a Santa Fe artist I have been sending framed art for a long time. The care taken with handling the art was always excellent. This has recently changed dramatically from bad to worse. The care is gone. Suddenly my art is tossed, and in one case thrown. Store equipment is broken, "handling fees" (no packing was required)have been added, the 10% discount is gone, shipping prices are up and in several cases the genuine friendliness is gone. Come on guys this is Santa Fe; you can do better than this for your hard working artists. In general, the staff is rude and aggressive handling all packages! read more

I had a lot of other things to be done -- copying, printing, scanning. I didn't have a printer at my temporary housing, and I had a lot of legal documents to be processed. We called to get a Notary for some documents we needed for court, they assured us over the phone that they could do it as soon as we came in. When we arrived I waited inline for 10 minutes, then they told me to stand out of line for 15 more minutes. I tried to explain that I had to be in court. After 15 minutes, during which customers that arrived after I did were served. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager came out, and was the person we had spoken with on the phone. I tried to explain that I had to be in court. The manager yelled at me and my wife; "Take Your Business Elsewhere". Very rude and unprofessional! read more

I paid $33 for two day air shipping and was given a tracking receipt/shipping that didn't match my payment receipt. At home I tried both tracking numbers on the UPS website, but neither was recognized. I called the store and the manager stated that I the UPS website should list "label created". It didn't. Back to the store about an hour later, the manager also could not find the tracking number in his computer. I requested my package back. He told me that it was already picked up. I told him that a previous customer review had said the customer called the police after being told the same thing and then the package was found. He pulled two large bins from the back for me to sort through in the customer area. I found my package and was given a refund. Went straight to Fed Ex. read more

I am writing this review because two boxes taken to UPS store 1750 (Santa Fe, NM) on May 29 are still missing. I visited this store to ship two boxes. My experience at the store was very unfortunate. I had to wait a long time to make the shipping transaction. I was told that they had lost the internet connection while they were entering my information. I didn't see anyone adding the shipping label on the box, however one of the people working there that day took the box to the back of the store. I asked several times if they had put our address labels on the box and the guys working there assured me that they had and acted annoyed by my question. When I tracked the package the only information we could see was "check back tomorrow for an updated delivery day". I decided to call the UPS store and was told that due to Memorial Day the box had not gone out, but it would be picked up that afternoon. The rest of the week I kept getting the same message of "check back tomorrow" while tracking. Every time I called the store again and was put on hold for a long time. I decided to write an email to the store manager and she asked me to describe what was inside the box and send it to her in an email. I did it. In my email I asked her if the box had been picked up by UPS and she assured me in her email that it had. Two days ago I received a message from her saying that the box was missing and that I should send receipts of what was inside so that I could process a refund. I decided to call UPS (Reference number 1-83739054006) and they assured me that the box had never been scanned by UPS even though the local manager assured me in an email that the box had been scanned. It is clear that one of the parties are not telling the truth. I spoke to the manager again on the phone and after a long wait on hold, she told me that the reason UPS was telling me that the box had not been scanned was because they lost the box and did not want to be responsible. Both, the UPS store and UPS, assured me that they checked the store cameras, however, no one would explain to me what they saw on the cameras. It doesn't make sense that these boxes magically disappeared. Especially if they truly have cameras in the store. It also doesn't make sense for UPS to say that the box was never scanned, while the UPS store claims it was. Don't risk shipping anything from that store! read more

OMG another business with that rare quality - awesome customer service! I had been referred to this location by a family member who had a great relationship with that store. Unfortunately that family member passed away a few years back. The manager, Gary, is really on top of things, and cares about his customer after the passing, he actually postponed the auto-cancel waiting for the rest of the family to come by. This week I had to ship a TON of stuff, and have UPS pack it for me. I went by this store, and they were incredible. We were freaking out about how we were going to get this stuff shipped, and Gary was SO helpful - we just dropped some of the stuff off, and they packed what we didn't want to pack. What a relief! The person ( a lady, not Gary) at the desk also brought out the boxes we bought for the things we were going to pack at home, out to my car! When we finished packing what we were going to pack, we realized we had overestimated the number of boxes we had to ship, they credited us for the unused boxes! It gets even better - a few days after we shipped, we realized we couldn't find the receipts. I was frustrated with UPS corporate who kept asking me for a tracking number ( yes, a catch 22. us: we don't have the tracking number, can you help us? ups corporate: i can get you a tracking number, but I need a tracking number. Us: huh? I don't have a tracking number - that's what I need from YOU. I have an account number, I have a recipient address, I have a sender address, etc, etc, etc. Gary helped us navigate through that, and, amazingly enough, found our tracking numbers! I have no connection with this business - I just feel that many businesses don't understand customers service, and it is important to recognize those that do it right. I will never go back to this store. I was in Santa Fe so thought I'd stop to mail a package for delivery within the next two weeks to my son in WA. I had the box packed, taped, and ready to mail but wanted the small box I had packed put in a larger box with peanuts for safe delivery. There were two customers at the counter being assisted by two employees and no one in line when I arrived at the store. Long story short.... 20 minutes later with the line out the door, the same customer at the counter when I arrived still working to get her package mailed, the employee who finished with her customer within minutes of my arrival started assisting customers with drop offs, mail pickups, etc. and never came back to assist those who were in line and had been patiently waiting. The service didn't get better. The least expensive cost to mail the small box without extra packaging was over $55, the store only had bubble wrap and would need to be shipped in one of their UPS boxes, would cost over $100 if I wanted him to do this for me and said, "so, you should buy our bubble wrap and a box and do this yourself." Needless to say, I still have the package to mail and will take it to one of the places I've been going to for years instead. I've never had this lack in customer service any time I've tried to mail something and am especially disappointed with this because 2020 has been a year when it is imperative to keep in touch with friends and family via care packages, keep our businesses running via boxed deliveries, and keep our homes in order, food on the table through online purchases and deliveries. I don't believe that higher costs, unreliable deliveries, and poor customer service is acceptable under any circumstance. read more

Tried to ship some books but out of ALL the boxes in the store, they could not seem to find one to sell me. So I went to FEDEX across the street. They made me a box. Seems as though UPS is going down a slippery slope of no customer service. Needless to say it will KILL a business. Not only did FEDEX make a box for my needs they didnt even charge me. Hmmmm. I will be moving my commercial account to FEDEX. If I was the franchise owner of the Store on Guadalupe in Santa Fe N.M. I would be tightening the reins on my employees. read more
