The only post office I go to because there is no and wait! This location is very clean and the staff are friendly. Yes, I avoid post office as much as I can but if I have to, I go to this location! :)

The appointment was easy to get, the clerk was expecting me as we walked in the door, and she was super helpful throughout the whole process.

I remember walking in one day (last year) and there was dog vomit on the carpet. The employee at the time stated that the owner treated them terribly and that this was not their job (so they refused to clean it). To give you perspective on how my past experiences here have shaped my expectations, this didn't faze me at all. I tiptoed through the maze of dog vomit that had been tracked throughout the store and moved as quickly as possible through that transaction. I've managed to gracefully work with the employees I'm recognizing in the negative reviews (they're certainly accurate). Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner himself, who was incredibly rude and passive-aggressive. When I calmly stood up for myself, he responded with complete overkill and refused me service. He was entirely immune to de-escalation and certainly on a power trip. While his new employee was giving me directions to the closest alternative shipping location (like a normal, kind human being), the owner interrupted him and snapped, "You can't ask him questions. He's MY employee." Sausalito is a small, tight-knit community. I can't wrap my head around treating people like this. As I was leaving, another customer approached me outside to check if I was okay, apologized for how I was treated, and stated that they would be contacting UPS. Go to the Mill Valley location on Flamingo instead. It's clean, and the gentleman who runs it is lovely.

On the outside are parking spots that fit roughly 85% of your vehicle (as is customary in hell). On the inside is a revolving door of unprofessional employees and a store that looks like it gets cleaned every solar eclipse. I remember walking in one day and there was dog vomit on the carpet and I thought "Well, this is certainly on brand." I was unfazed as I tiptoed through the vomit that had been tracked throughout the store. I held my breath as the employee gave me an entire breakdown of how terribly the owner treated them (in general), how he refused to address the biohazard, and how it wasn't their job to do so. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner myself, who was so incredibly unprofessional and rude to me that another customer actually stopped me outside to apologize for his behavior. It made me miss the dog vomit and masterclass in patience. I'm actually grateful for today's unpleasant interaction because it led me to this particular UPS franchise (very close by, in Mill Valley). There is ample parking (that fits a whole car). When I walked in, I was in shock by how absolutely clean it was. I literally stood in the front door in awe for an awkwardly long period of time. The gentleman at the front desk (manager and brother to the owner) was so pleasant and personable. It was like being upgraded from coach (more like the baggage compartment) to first class. We're getting transported with the chickens over here in Sausalito on a stakebed truck full of hay, and you Mill Valley folks are doing high tea with the Queen. This whole time!? How did I miss this place?

I sympathize with parking lot owners, as it must be very frustrating, in the words of the woman who answered the phone when I called this morning, that people "get away with" parking violations in clearly posted areas. I mean I can read, and yet I chose to violate their posted regulations, because I'm really self-entitled, right? On the 'subject to towing' notice it said I should call the number if I had questions, but what question could I have? The thing that she didn't seem to get, however, was that the problem is not a nearly every day customer who sneaks in a quick visit to the post office or the bank nearby after grocery shopping when the parking lot is 3/4 empty - it's the person who parks their car there and then carpools away for the rest of the day, taking up needed space during prime times. But as is typical of this type of person, frustrated by a larger problem and not knowing how to deal with it, goes for the low-lying fruit and targets people who assume that a sign that says "parking for customers only" couldn't possibly mean that 1) the store owner wants you to park on the street and haul your groceries back there when the parking lot is empty but you might want to drop a letter at the post office about 30 meters away, or 2) it's reasonable to expect someone to repark one's car about 30 meters away to mail a letter after shopping. This type of person also doesn't seem to get why you would be annoyed that she would make these suggestions, or that you only get one hour (posted nowhere), when after all, you "got away with it" and your car wasn't towed. I told her I was unlikely to shop there again if they put that notice on my car in a grocery store parking lot after 60 minutes, that's not being proactive, thats turning off customers. She said she didn't see the point of our conversation. Exactly.
