This place is clean and the people are friendly. I don't go in that often even though I have rent a box there, but they still know who I am when I walk in! I like the fact that they will text me when I receive a package! Priceless! I also like that I don't have to use my real address! You know the USPS post office box will not accept FedEx or UPS, so this place is the way to go because they accept it all, and sign on your behalf. For some odd reason I thought UPS was a place that will help you pack and ship items. I had to return an item I purchased from Amazon. Amazon usually sends me to Kohl's (which is amazing) every now and then Amazon will have me return something through UPS. I walked into UPS and there were two employees. The employee that helped me was an older man with black framed glasses and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. I let him know I needed to return an item from Amazon, he told me the label had to be printed and the item has to be packaged. I told him the last time I had to return an Amazon item through UPS they packed it for me, printed the label and changed for the service. He seemed so annoyed by me and told me they don't do that and it must have been a different UPS. I informed him this is the only UPS I ever go to since I work down the street and YES, they have printed and package an item I needed to return. We stood in awkward silence for a minute or two until I asked if he had a box. He put a post-it down in front of me that had the UPS email address on it and said "email the label to print here." He printed the label, put my item in a bag and charged me $6. It's frustrating because it's UPS, I know packing and shipping is a service they provide. So why was the employee giving me a hard time over this? Amazon, PLEASE don't send me to UPS to return. Items anymore. It's not worth the rudeness. read more

Horrible customer service. The employee who assisted me was not only rude but down right cheated me. I came here to print one page in 2 days since my printer at home wasn't working. Yesterday, the female employee assisted me and was very courteous and I was charged 10 cents for printing a page. Today when I came and printed the same page as I needed one more copy, the employee first acted annoyed and then asked me to pay "an even $2". I thought it was a joke and laughed but he insisted. I told him I came yesterday and was charged 10 cents for the same thing, he just shrugged and said it's $2 (for computer use!!!). It's shameful when you hire employees who cheat loyal customers...it's not the amount of money as I will gladly pay any fair price but this is a matter of principle. He didn't even give me a receipt. I'm never coming back to this location. I hope management makes every employee go though customer service training and teaches them basic business ethics. Horrid experience!! read more

I am a fan! I needed to ship something and was crunched for time. The post office was close, but I knew that if I needed help sealing my box and making a label that I would get a bunch of long sighs from the workers and the customers. Somehow I remembered that there was some kind of shipping office in the Vons plaza and I gave it a try. I was immediately greeted by Lawrence at the UPS store, who was SUPER helpful, let me use some tape to seal my box, explained that insurance for $100 is automatically included and created a label for me. He allowed me to preview the label to make sure everything was right before affixing it to the box. A reasonable $14 later, I have a tracking number on a receipt and I'm all set. No charge for borrowing their tape or small air cushions to stabilize the contents. I'll be back for sure! Shout out to Lawrence! read more

I was one of those crappy customers who showed up to UPS 5 minutes before they closed, with 4 large Amazon packages to return, the weekend before Christmas... they didn't make me feel rushed at all, and kept the line moving steadily. I also noticed how the guy who kept coming out to check on the line knew a few of the regulars by name, and brought their mail out to them so they wouldn't have to wait in the shipping line with the rest of us, which I thought was really efficient. Very rude, condescending attitude from one of the older guys working at this location, can't remember his name. There was another younger guy who wasn't rude but didn't help either. I've been chasing my package since Thursday and the website said it was delivered at the south Pasadena location, i went in there and nobody seemed to know where my package was. My apartment complex has glass doors which can only be opened by a resident or manager, if nobody opens the door the UPS drivers don't even try to call the customer to let us know the package is here, they just leave a note and thats it. Very frustrating, I'll never use UPS again. read more

I have my PO box at this location, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I have had my box with UPS South Pasadena for probably over 5 years now. It has taken a lot of hassle out of my day, and it's really nice to have packages sent there instead of my home. Too many mail thieves. Plus, the staff is really nice and accommodating. I get text and email updates whenever I have a package, they helped me with a claim once, and I am able to sometimes call them to just confirm if there may be a new package or not. I now share my box with my husband, who also really likes the benefit of having a box at this location. One thing that people take for granted is the ease of access this location gives. Sure, there are times when they are busy and boxes of recently arrived items takes up a ton of space, but it is pretty rare to have to wait in long lines like you use at the post office. I like that I can walk in, they knew me, they go into the back to get my package before I even say hello. Dude, who does that nowadays? Not many, I bet. Anyway, long story short (too late), these guys are great and I plan to be with them for a loooooong time. read more

I rented a mail box from this location for quite some time. The folks who run it are the nicest people. They are very professional and will notify you when you get a package. They even accepted boxes from my organic produce delivery! I didn't need to worry about packages being snatched from my apartment doorstep or getting soaked in the rain. Their hours are good, so you can stop by on a Saturday or after work to retrieve your mail. They get bonus points for being pet friendly. I often walked my dog to their store and they were always happy to see her. Sometimes, I would stop by in my car and there is usually parking in the lot. This place is only good for serving as a package drop off and nothing else. We came to use the notary service and the guy who helped us quoted $20 per signature. A few days later when we came back again, the same guy quoted $15/signature. In addition, this guy said that the dates of the signature do not need to match. We were a bit dubious but went along with it. Turns out that the notary signatures were completely invalid due to the unmatched dates. But they refused to admit their mistake and notarize the same document for free. Lesson learned: do not use their notary service again!!! read more

I have had a box at this UPS Store for almost two years, and just renewed for another year. Alan, the owner, is fantastic, and is always so friendly and helpful. I opened a box here due to mail theft at my condo community (packages were left in the lobby and often stolen) and the piece of mind of always receiving my packages without any problems (or having to chase after the package if the carrier could not get into my building) is priceless. The UPS Store in South Pasadena makes it simple and easy for you. They even text you when a package has arrived! The staff is super helpful, and it is really convenient to go every week to pick up my packages as I do other shopping at the center (Vons, Beauty Supply Store etc) where the UPS store is located. I would highly recommend you support this small business (each UPS store is franchised). Everyone works very hard and fast, and their store is very popular on the weekends! That being said, they always greet me, are super professional, and I look forward to getting my packages every week. I used to come in here every once in a while either for copies or to mail something, because I live within walking distance. Unfortunately I won't be coming back. I agree with some of the other reviews that they are often talking amongst themselves and don't seem to notice you when you first come in and need assistance, but in general they were always really friendly once they did pay attention to you. It certainly wasn't enough for me to avoid the place. But last week I came in to send documents overnight, I told them I needed guaranteed next day by 12pm delivery. I was being helped by one person, but then he went to go help someone else, I think with a notary, and without really saying anything, another guy came over to process my shipment. He asked me to grab a manila envelope, which I did, and then he said that since the address I was shipping to was so close we would just do ground instead of next day air. I ask if that would still be guaranteed before noon, he said no it would just get there whenever they arrive. I told him it was time sensitive, and that it needed to be there by noon. Good thing I asked, because these documents are related to freelance work that I do, and missing the deadline would have cost me $100s of dollars. I was irritated that they almost made that mistake by being a little careless. I gave him my debit card, and he said it declined, which surprised and scared me since it was my bank account which should have plenty of money in it. I didn't have my phone on me to check online banking, and now looking back I wish I had asked for the receipt of the declined charge. I paid cash because it was important that I got this out ASAP. I checked my online banking, and it showed a pending charge. I called and spoke to Alan and he assured me that it did not go through and then it would drop off my banking. He suggested that maybe I had put my PIN in wrong, essentially that it had been my mistake. The next day, the charge had gone through. I called Alan again, and he suggested that I was mistaken, but that he would look into it. He called me back later that day and left a message saying that there had been an error on their side and they would fix it. I let it go over the weekend, knowing that it probably wouldn't process until Monday. Monday the charge is still there. I called Alan and ask him if he would just refund my cash payment since I paid once a card and once with cash. He said that the processing company was going to take care of it, and that he would call me back later that day. He did not call me back later that day. I came in on Tuesday morning, not because I want to put this much of my time and effort into something like this, but that I know from experience that if I let it go the company is usually not going to jump through hoops to make it right. Alan refunded my cash, but with an attitude. He would barely look me in the eye and he said that since it seems like a big deal to me he would just go ahead and pay me back. He was acting as if I was being rude about the whole situation. He added "The charge will stay there now, since I'm giving you cash." As if I don't understand that. That's really what bugged me from the beginning of the experience, is that he just assumed that I was wrong about everything from the start, and was not at all apologetic or concerned about the mistake. I told him that it did not need to be contentious, that I just felt like he was being dismissive to me over the phone and I wanted to come in. I can't believe they would treat a customer this way, as if I was being so rude to them by wanting them to give prompt attention to a double charge. I probably would have been more patient if he had seemed to care or listen more in my initial calls. read more

This is not my normal UPS store. The store that I usually frequent was closed due to covid-19. I was dropping off some Amazon returns. One of the workers was trying to expedite the line, so he went around to check for people that were dropping off with labels. As he got to me, I happily have him my packages. The strange thing about this whole ordeal was when I asked for receipts. The worker stated that they didn't do receipts at this location and walked away with my packages. The employees there are very nice but the owner, Allen is a bad tempered asshole. I've had a mailbox there since 2003 and if it weren't so inconvenient to change your address I would find a different mailbox in a heartbeat. Today I received an order of leather hides that came in a long, thin box. It was clearly marked "Do Not Stand On End" and when I arrived to claim it, it was standing on end. I immediately called it out to Allen and he "apologized" in the way that people do when they are not sorry. He then threw the rest my mail at me, which fell on the floor and was kindly retrieved by one of the guys behind the counter. I hope you read this, Allen. You are a rude asshole. I do have to acknowledge that shortly after posting this review I got a call from Allen. He said he wanted to make sure my order wasn't damaged. I told him I was more bothered by his behavior than the condition of my package. He begged off by saying he was under a lot of stress lately and again "apologized" in that not-sorry way. I'll give another star for the call but actual sincerity would be a bigger improvement. read more

This is the store I use to drop my return packages and up until today the service has always been great. I stopped in today to drop off a return package and get a receipt. There were two employees working, one helping a customer with notary services and the other trying to reach a customer by phone to notify them of an urgent delivery. Since I overheard the situation I decided to just allow him to finish and wait patiently. Almost 10 minutes went by and no one even acknowledged that I was there. A simple acknowledgment would have been great. I noticed the one employee that was trying to reach the customer was finished and proceeded with doing something else. Again I'm just standing there in plain sight. I finally said I need to drop off my package and get a receipt. The one employee called me over to the other side of the store to help me, but never even apologized or said thank you for waiting. This is the worst type of customer service ever. read more

So Pas, This was a bad experience from the moment I walked in. No hello's, no smiles, no help without me having to ask all the questions. As a first timer there, I realized that they really needed a 5 hr energy drink. To keep this short, I ended up paying almost as much as one of the items I was returning. I have come to this UPS Store probably 15+ times in the last 6 months for various purposes. With the pandemic, online orders (especially through Amazon) have increased which comes with increased returns. My experience each time has been very consistent. Alan is very friendly and asks what you are there for and tries to give you an expectation of whether or not you will need to wait, or whether he can help you take care of your needs from where you're standing in line. All Amazon returns unfortunately have to be done inside the store, but they try their best to expedite the line by bringing out packages to people who are there just to pick up items. The only downside is that this place often has a wait (up to 10 min) at all times of the day, compared to some other UPS locations I have gone to. However, customers all wait outside and people have been respectful about social distancing and wearing masks. read more
