I used to love this Amazon store but not any more! I started a return through Amazon and selected the option for UPS to package it and return it. I showed up with the package and my return code. They scanned the item and said that it needed to be in a box to be returned. First off, that's not the option I had selected. They tried to hustle me into purchasing a box from them and when I explained that I had left my wallet in my car, I asked for my package back so that I could box it up on my own and bring it back. Then they refused to give me my package back! I immediately called Amazon and told them the situation. The customer service rep confirmed that is 100% not right and issued me an immediate refund in addition to filing a report against this particular UPS location. Just for the record, according to the Amazon rep, "Your package is always yours and when you return it, it belongs to Amazon. It NEVER belongs to the UPS Store, and they don't get to make up the rules." read more

UPS Stores can truly be hit or miss. This location is definitely a hit. They are very smooth and efficient. They understand that many of the people who are visiting the location are there to drop off boxes that already have labels printed. They don't even really make you wait in line if they see that that's what you're doing. It literally takes 30 seconds to drop of the box and be on your way. I appreciate that. Not to mention that all of my interactions with the employees has always been very pleasant. When I did have to wait in line to send a gift to a friend it didn't take very long and they were very quick. I would definitely go to this location for any of my UPS needs. read more

Huh. Website says this is the only location open on Sunday, so I drive all the way across the city to drop off an important package. Supposed to be open until 3:00pm, and I get there at 2:00. Place is barred up. There's a sign that they're closed on Monday for Memorial Day, but the Sunday sign says 11:00-3:00. Just ridiculous, and a huge waste of time. read more

EVEN THOUGH we discovered right that when the label was emailed, it wasn't with UPS company. They went out of their way to help print it out, and help me out with what I did need to do it correctly. SGN Nutrition in Carlsbad was sending me a 12 pound package for my job. This review is about the UPS service from the company and , "MY CHOICE" to have your package delivered to a UPS store nearby. On 01-28-2015 I used "My Choice" to move a package from my home in Eagle Rock to this UPS store at 1107 Fair Oaks. E-mail from UPS told me it would be there on 01-29-2015. I arrived on 01-30-2015 in the afternoon and they did not have it. The employees seemed clueless. The guys and gals have no method of looking up tracking numbers there? They have no method of finding information from UPS. So on 01-31-2015 I called them. They told me the package won't be there till at least Monday 02-02-2015. So now it is going to take at least 5 days, if not longer to receive this package. UPS service sucks all way around their systems. Did some one really screw up here? Routing number: 1ZY7834WP253024139 I called them tonight, could not send them an e-mail. The woman on the phone could not tell me where the package is at? I think she insinuated that someone really screwed up at UPS. She didn't tell me exactly what transpired. But someone at UPS screwed up and they did not receive the package at Fair Oaks UPS store. I walked in today and brought in 4 big packages and Alan Uehara, the owner, wanted to charge me an additional $10.00 to tape up my boxes. I've been to other UPS stores and they had no problem taping it up with no charge. A full roll of tape runs $3.00. I know he was going to pocket the cash and not give any of it to the kids that he hires. I informed him that there were plenty of other UPS and FedEx stores that I could take my business to since I do a lot of shipping, etc. He didn't seem to think my business was important and in the middle of taping my items, he told the workers to pack my things and take my business elsewhere. Being that I was just a number and his utter disconcern with my business, I was happy to go to the UPS store on Fair Oaks and California in Pasadena. I told them of the situation and they told me that they do not charge for using tape. Didn't happen because the folks there are not paying attention and the place is such a mess with packages and trip hazards all over the floor. This UPS store has the absolute best staff anywhere. My husband and I have been using their services for over 7 years. Their mailbox rental is great for people (like us!) who do a lot of online ordering and who get a lot of mail. We get tons of mail and never have to worry about being home for deliveries. They have convenient hours and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They either call or email us when we get a package or anything that looks important and they never sound annoyed when we call to find out if a package has arrived. !!! Aggressive EMPLOYEE Looking For a Fight on Duty!!! I have filed a complaint with the store and the corporate office. This store is privately owned which means it's not a REAL UPS store so when I called the corporate office they will let the owner know what happened. I walked in the store with my prepaid label and box- my box needed to be sealed, I was returning a very expensive handbag. The clerk said you mailing out? Yes, can you seal it for me and put the label he said anything else? No, he went to take the box and label, I said can you seal it now and put the label on? He screamed at me: I WILL DO IT!!!! I said forget it I don't want you to help me! I went to grab my box off the counter and he grabbed it out of my hands and said I WILL HELP YOU!!!!! I said NO, you are rude with a bad attitude! I had some time-sensitive documents that I had to get notarized so I took them to my bank (who had assured me that a notary was part of the "Premier" package I'd chosen) and they could not provide the service. So... I Googled "notary, South Pasadena" and the UPS Store came up. I was only a few blocks away, butI didn't have a lot of hope because it was a Saturday morning, but I called and asked anyway. YES! They had a notary available right then. I was there within ten minutes. Notary Thomas Ramirez II was efficient and pleasant. They printed my 11x17 prints wrong and they said they couldnt do anything about it. They said their printer adds a "border" to everything they print.... but they shrunk my print to like half the size... that's not even a border anymore! its just shrunken! and so i wasn't able to turn in the correct size for my homework. what a waste of time and money! other UPS locations have printed the 11 x 17 at the full size before, so doesn't make sense that they couldn't do it here. They didn't even offer me a refund or anything to help! they just said they couldn't do anything about it. Never coming back here again!! read more

Had a package delivered that we missed; the UPS guy left a sticky note. I called the UPS store (1107 Fair Oaks location) to verify if it was the correct location to retrieve the package. Guy on the phone says yes and to bring an ID. The following afternoon I drive my wife to get her package and Tom, the UPS store guy, won't release it because the address on her license does not match our current address (which is the address on the package) since we just moved. Unfortunately, we also lost the sticky note the driver left on our door. She comes out and explains things to me. I take her license, my license, and a new insurance card with both our names and the new address on it to prove that we are who we say we are. Not good enough for Tom. Tom is adamant that he needs our license address to match the package address. Tom was giving us a very hard time despite us following the identification protocol found on the UPS website: Option 2: Present a government-issued photo ID where the last name matches the last name on the package. If the address on the ID doesn't match the address on the package, please bring proof of residency that matches the address on the package--for example, a current utility bill. https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/sri/access-point-id-requirements.page Tom then suggested we have the sender of the package reroute it to another location which was a ridiculous suggestion. Even still, we called my wife's sister (sender of the package) to ask her to call the store to provide to them any form of verification necessary, like a tracking number or whatever. This place is as good as a Mail Service place can be. We've had our box here for the past two and a half year with no problem. We have most of our home renovation supplies and heavy tools mailed here non-stop for the past year or so and they are mostly bulky and heavy. All of our stuff have been safely stored. They help carry and load stuff to our cars and recycle boxes EVERY time. They also text us daily of how many package we receive and from whom. Alan and his crew are among the nicest people in business, always prompt and helpful. Trust me on this, I've helped my boss run 5 companies with all other mail services all over LA.
