Short: Not terrible. Good location but can be pricey and chaotic. Visited week of Dec. 12 '22 I'm happy this is near downtown Springfield and the Safeway. Location wise it is useful. Can be pricey. My interaction was about 5 mins, so relatively quick for the December holiday season. I handed my box to be scanned in, instead of sitting in the amazon returns section. Worker did oblige and eventually handed a receipt confirming it was scanned, since I asked to be relived of my worry. $2 for a singular shipping label to be printed. In my humble opinion, is pretty steep. You're better off going to the local library and printing it for about $0.15! YES $0.15 vs $2.00! (By the way, when you call the store phone, it is a robot. In which told me to print a shipping label would be $2.50/label!) Customer service still could have improvements. I did not appreciate being looked at crazy because the worker wasn't fully paying attention to what I was asking - so i had to repeat myself **three** times. read more

This place is great and super convenient! You can drop off Amazon returns and spectrum and Comcast returns here without even having a box to put it in! The staff is always friendly and helpful. When there is going to be a charge, such as printing extra label, or needing to purchase a box, etc., they explain what the charge is for and give you options. I always go out of my way to come to THIS UPS store, because the staff's customer service is always top notch, and I can't find nicer people. I sent a 35k check to a creditor and was told it would arrive on Thursday which was the due date. I paid for this service, received my receipt and tracking information. the following day my package (check) was returned to my mailbox at my home. The form letter attached stated it was in the wrong envelope for the service requested. Drove back to to town ( 50 mile round trip) and after waiting in line gave the envelope to the employee and stated the obvious. I paid to have this delivered by Thursday and now that you made a mistake my payment will be late. Employee told me that she could resend it "at no cost" or give me a refund. No acknowledgment of making a mistake. After again explaining the issue and the need to have it delivered by tomorrow she asked what I would like done. I said that my expectation was that you would have it overnighted at your cost as it was your mistake. I was laughed at and told to take the refund and go to the post office or resend it (at no cost to me). Nasty, rude woman. I will NEVER set foot in that business again and after reading other reviews I am not alone. read more

I have used this UPS Store quite a bit lately, for faxing and emailing. Today I went in to have paperwork notarized and faxed. I always get good service here, but today was extra special. A sweet young lady named Hazel helped me and while everyone there is very nice, Hazel was an absolute joy. She handled my notarization and faxing professionally and quickly, and she was so friendly at the same time. Another great thing about this store is that, apparently, everyone employed there has a notary commission, so anytime you go in, there is a notary available. It's a nice clean store, well stocked, and lots of friendly people working there. Especially Hazel. Her customer service skills are amazing. I vote that she be promoted and given a raise. I went in to mail a package out & I was ridiculed for not wearing a mask by the girl who was monitoring a new employee. I have asthma and I am exempt. The girl wanted to banter with me about wearing a mask. It is very unprofessional & illegal to criticize someone about their medical conditions. If this employee is so worried about masks, then I would have her work in the back away from customers. I went in here the on Monday to pick up a box and pack it up and ship it off to California. I had honestly never shipped using this store before. So it was a whole new experience. Lol. Normally I just buy the flat rate boxes at the post office and mail things that way. Unfortunately, what I needed to ship was far too big for that. So, off to the UPS store I go. I paid a whopping $12.99 for the box. It's cardboard, not gold. Not really thrilled, especially after I had gone to Wal-Mart a little later to buy a box I needed, but wasn't planning on shipping. It was $1.99. Felt a little robbed there, but whatever. It's like buying packing supplies at U-Haul, or popcorn in a movie theater. You'll pay far more than it's worth. That's my big complaint right there, the price of the box. I bought it, took it home to tape and pack it up. I sent a blanket and two pillows that I had made to a friend in California. I did learn that UPS insures their packages for up to $100, after they asked me the value of the items I was sending, which was around $60-70 with the cost of material. This is good to know. I'm not sure if that means you can buy special insurance if you're sending something of a higher value or not. This would be a question I have. I come back to the store with the giant box, which weighed like 6 pounds to have it shipped off. Which cost me another $44 and change. By this time, it cost me almost as much to ship this blanket and two pillows as it did to buy the material and make them. Which wasn't exactly cheap in the first place. So, not terribly thrilled there. The cashier claimed it was the size of the box that made it so expensive, not the weight. Next, I had to rattle off all of my personal information to the clerk at the register who was weighing my package and filling out all the necessary information for the shipping label. In my opinion, if they had some sort of system to allow you to do this yourself, it would be much easier. I hate ratting off my last name (it's hyphenated into two, so very long) and all the other info about myself, especially where other people can hear it. I hate strange people knowing where I live. Plus, the cashier made some pretty stupid spelling errors. My address has the direction of west in front of it. She writes "lest" instead. Really?! I've never heard of a Lest First Street or any other address before. I guess that's a new one? She then spells my bestie's name wrong as well, after I spelled it out for her. Maybe a hearing aid should be in her near future? I found these things to be annoying. I wasn't terribly impressed. Would I return? Maybe? I'm not really sure. If I could fill out the label myself so it's actually accurate, I may. But the price was a little absurd. I had several questions, like can I use my own box, or do I have to buy theirs? What happens if I'm shipping something over $100? Can I buy special insurance for those? I didn't really feel like the cashier gave me the option to ask these, it was more, get your shit and get out kind of attitude. She bordered on impatient. So if I have to use UPS again, I will likely go to a different store, that is more welcoming and helpful. That way I can find these things out before I spend the money to use UPS. Needed to mail a simple item. The item is a ring box size, and she's trying to get me to buy a huge box, packing peanuts that would fill several boxes and some roll of bubble wrap. When I asked if they had it where I could buy what I was actually using, she rolls her eyes and no. I know the UPS store in other locations offer that service. Won't be back here again. Very poor customer service. Reading other reviews, I was really surprised at how bad this place is. Lost my business. It's that time of year again. Have lots to mail, but guess who lost my business because of how I felt I was being ripped off last year. I brought my elderly mom in to get her healthcare wishes notarized. Shayla was very sweet and patient with my mom as we filled out the documents. The store had a counter that was easily accessible for my mom to sit in her chair and still sign the paperwork. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE HISTORY OF BUSINESS! I went in on Saturday to copy a document and then ship a package. The girl behind the counter (only employee in the store) told me to "use the computer over there". I went over and tried to figure out how to log on and she called out (from across the room, still behind the counter) to plug in my USB drive and swipe my credit card. I asked where to plug in the drive and she said "if you don't know how to use our computer, you should go somewhere else." I told her "or you can come over here and help a customer." She said I would have to walk to the counter and ask her to help me before she would help. She then told me again that I should go somewhere else if I don't know how to use their equipment. I asked if the manager was there and she said she is the manager. During this entire experience, she never even told me her name. I guess that is because she is so bad at customer service. I got so frustrated with her and said "this is ridiculous, you must be kidding." She then said I would have to leave and if I refuse she would call the police and tell them I swore in the store. I left this store and went to a FedEx store where I received outstanding customer service and had a very pleasant experience dealing with them. I finished my business and they were happy to get my business, especially after I told them about my experience in this store. I have done a lot of business in this store in the past and never had a problem until yesterday, until I had to deal with this employee. Copies, printing, photo printing, shipping, and I always had good service in the past. But with employees, and managers, like her, I will never use this store again. There are a lot of other copy and print shops in the area, even UPS stores, so I will take my business elsewhere from now on. I have since told many friends and business acquaintances about the terrible customer service in this store and it has only been one day. The lady said it was because the other store "couldn't hold packages forever" and my sister "didn't make an effort to get it".... her words!! Unbelievably rude. My sister was out of the country and couldn't sign for it. Went to the UPS store, was treated with the same apathy down there as here, told TWO DIFFERENT times the package was "on a truck" with no estimated delivery time. The third time she went in? Oops... it was sent back to Springfield! Are you kidding? And now I have to pay AND deal with an apathetic and extremely rude staff?? Do yourself a favor and head to USPS. This is what the BOLI COMPLAINT WILL HAVE IN THE FACTS SECTION Re UPS store #2576 owned by Jessica Mermis managed by "Tellman" will get the BOLI complaint they asked for after refusing service after we had the following conversation, about 2 hours ago: I arrived around 3:30 pm and waited less than 5 min.Tellman argued with me for at least 20 min about deaf telecom rights in place of telelphones, whether or not I was intentionally disrespecting him or "yelling" because I explained several times I am hearing impaired and cannot control my volume, telephone numbers given to UPS being used for undisclosed unauthorized marketing and my right to free expression, privacy and equal treatment under the law. He asked me several times to leave and go to the Post Office, which I ended up doing. He ordered his staffer to call the police but no police came. She stood with her cell on speaker pointed at me the whole time, which I told her I did not consent to. The CCTV was on the whole time. I did not use four letter words. I noticed I was the only senior citizen in the store, the staff and all other customers were younger than me. The final exchange was thus: Me: [Keep in mind that Tellman has refused service now for 20 min apparently because he does not like my conservative politics, but it could be age discrimination or discrimination on the basis of a disability, he said he did not like my "word choices."] "My [licensed by local police service dog] dog has diarrhea. If you take much longer he might shit on your carpet. I have no control over what he does. It's been quite awhile now that you've been asking me for the same information, which I have given to you repeatedly and I still don't see you typing a label...." Tellman/UPS: "I am refusing to serve you because you ordered your dog to shit on me." I then left the store and drove to USPS, your competitor where I was served by Clerk 11, a delightful senior citizen. I note that most of the customers waiting with me in line were also my age or older. I am 60+. USPS had me wait a total of 5 min and Clerk 11 was done with my transaction which is what I asked UPS for, EXACTLY THE SAME REQUEST, in 10 min in & out the door, including small talk and with tracking. Cost was $29.15 and that included a hazardous parcel containing a lithium battery. I told her what UPS had just done a few minutes before I had talked to her and asked for her services and she shook her head.
