I've gone there twice to drop off packages and they have been closed before their posted hours. Today it was due to "excess heat". It did get to 90 here, however if the Thai restaurant and other businesses next to them can stay open they should as well. It's a retail store, not a hot kitchen. I went into the Game Stop next door (same building) and it felt like there was air conditioning so makes me think it was just an excuse for someone to leave early. I'm seriously considering not using UPS anymore to ship packages, I need a place that stays open until 6 or 7 (or at least has a package drop off box, which they do not at this location) read more

UPS = Unbelievable Poor Service Customers are always wrong with UPS. This review is based on UPS corporates poor handling of a claim. We sent a care package to our son living in another state. It was carefully packaged, well taped, with airbags to ensure that it was tight. We attached one of the pictures that shows the box before we shipped it with all the items in it but before we had organized it put in the air packs and taped it well. Unfortunately we didn't realize that we need to take pictures of the package as it's being packed so that we can prove that it was packaged well. Another lesson learned. Unfortunately when it was delivered to him it was beat up, torn up and half of the items were missing. The interesting thing is that all of the items missing were the ones of high value such as a really good insulated cup, shirts, and almost $100 worth of gift cards. We were told after the fact that UPS will not insure any gift cards. So basically if you send any to someone and it is lost or stolen, it will not be covered. In addition when we filed the claim after the package was delivered, late and in beat up condition, we had to spend hours filling out all of their forms and sending them all sorts of pictures, receipts of items, etc. After going through all of this their final determination was to deny the claim and say that it was due to poor packaging. We could understand this if it had actually been packaged poorly, it wasn't. And when you look at what was taken it's obvious that someone took all of the things of value out of the package taped it back up and then sent it back on its way. It was theft, clear as day, and UPS didn't care AT ALL that their employees were stealing from their customers. This is the most egregious example of poor customer relations we have ever experienced. The only positive in the whole experience was the owners of our local UPS store helped as much as possible and even refunded the cost of the shipping. Unfortunately they were not able to help to get the claim approved and now we're simply out of money and our son did not get the items and help that we were intending. Lesson learned, next time we need to ship anything we will never turn to UPS. We shipped the package on August 13, 2021 and it was supposed to be delivered on August 20th but wasn't delivered until August 23rd. read more

Today I went in to get 20, 29 page employee handbooks copied and stapled. To my horror, the price was over $300.00. The paper was your standard printer paper, nothing heavier nothing nice. The attendant told me the machines were not capable of stapling and he would do it manually. I watched as he brought out an old stapler and attempted to staple 29 pages together with no success. He then started to tear the staple out of the top page of the manual and try again. I finally had to ask him to stop. I walked out of there with a stack of 580 pieced of paper not separated, not stapled that I had to do on my own when I got back to the office all for the price of $311.00. So, I've ventured into an app based selling program to start consolidating my collection of collectibles. At first, I was leary of using anything but USPS. But, sometimes, shipping with UPS ground is cheaper than they alternative, so I ventured into UPS. I specifically use the 72nd UPS store cause they aren't as swamped as the 38th. 38th St peeps have customers, and lines. This makes the experience of dropping off stuff it 72nd much more pleasant. read more

Stopped here over my usual cause it was on my way for an Amazon return and I needed the label printed, they don't have a email the receive it for "safety reasons" and to use the public computer to print its a 3$ charge plus extra for every piece of paper used, I've never had any other ups store do either of those lol what a trash place this is. read more

CONS; In a completely bad part of Tacoma. Very unsafe day and night. Driveby shootings to middle of the day car-jacking (speak from personal experience). That being said, this is a very nice and convenient UPS store to use. It's rarely crowded and it's they have everything you need to ship your items. It's very clean and the staff I've worked with has always been very helpful and friendly. 4 stars is due to the location and lack of safety from the neighborhood it's in. read more

I found out the hard way that these UPS stores are individually owned and that some owners are super greedy (such as this one on 72nd St in Tacoma). In photo 1, witness these two receipts side-by-side for the same job; Scan 2 multipage document to PDF and email them to the customer. (I had had a similar job done at the UPS store at 2302 S 38th St and thought they all shared universal prices.). I found out AFTER the pdfs were emailed to me that the price for the first page is $2.50 and every page after that is $1.00! Outrageous! It cost them absolutely no paper and no ink, but that is their price. (Perhaps their ISP doesn't provide unlimited data?). The total bill was $37 for 30+ pages!!! If they had tried to charge me BEFORE sending the PDFs, I would have refused and walked out. On principle, I returned to the UPS STORE at 2302 S 38th St, where they tell you up front that the first page is $4.00, but each successive page is only 10 cents! The same job at 2302 S 38th St cost $8.59. To make matters worse, the 72nd St. store has cheaped out on photocopying machinery, using a small desktop business copier compared the gigantic floor model costing probably 10 times as much at 2302 S. 38th St. Look at the same document page side-by-side (photo 2). The $1.00 one from 1625 E 72nd St is unusable! You can't do OCR from that and I've seen faxes that looked better. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this low-quality, outrageously-priced printing store. I will always go to the UPS store at 2302 S 38th St from now on. [Note: the original document was also little soft, but the $.10 one retains all of the originals quality] read more

This is such a great UPS Store! Any time I've gone in the staff has always been very nice. Today I came in with a couple boxes and the staff member greeted me and held the door open (I was still over 10 feet away when she made sure the door was open for me to come in). I can't tell you how many other locations I've been to that let you struggle on your own to enter the building when your hands are full. They charge you for at least $2 (no tax) for using the computer and $3 if you send your documents to their email!!!! Their colored print sucks!!! If I could give them 0 I would!!! Go to FedEx or somewhere else to print. Never use UPS!!!! I just wasted $2.21 for NOTHING. read more

Fantastic! The postage machine broke at my work and we had to bring in hundreds of envelopes to be stamped and sealed. They were more than helpful and friendly. Jamie was wonderful! Awesome customer service and just a fun person to be around. I also thought it was great that the owner was there working in the store along with his employees. I placed an order on Amazon and UPS delivered it damaged. I followed the return process on Amazon to get a new order placed and they wanted me to take the damaged box and item to the UPS store for return shipping. I didn't tape up the box ahead of time in case the item needed to be inspected for the claim since UPS had damaged it. The staff was snippy about not being reimbursed from amazon on tape and charged me $3 plus tax for the 25 cents of tape that would be needed on the box. There was no consideration made that I was having to waste my time visiting them to return an item that their company damaged while shipping. The least they could have done was to try and not profit from the situation that their delivery team created and be respectful of the fact that their negligence in the package handling was taking my time. I don't think pulling this over 25 cents worth of tape was good customer service. I only hope that my replacement package ships with a more responsible delivery service so I don't end up back in the store with another damaged parcel....... now that I am aware of the price gouging I'll be sure to take my own tape dispenser though the next time UPS wrecks my package. read more

What a great Family owned franchise! I wish all the UPS Stores in Tacoma were like this one. I needed a quick print job on Saturday afternoon for my kids team and man were they fast. Literally walked in and out in under 10 minutes and the quality was great. Experience and caring people make this store different from the other UPS Stores. Sure beats a corporate FedEx store any day. Hopefully this family buys another store and makes great like this one. Go small business owner! read more
