This place is waaaaaay better than before. I'm not sure when they switched management, but it's like night and day. I didn't have such a great experience when I came here about a year ago and vowed not to come back. But... I really needed to mail something out and it is the closest place where I can go on my lunch break. The new staff are all so friendly and it was no hassle. If I could give them no stars I would have! I went in with a mountain bike that I needed packaged and shipped. I was told that although it was an XL frame size, they could get a box ordered that would fit if I brought the bike in that day (Friday). They would package it , ship it on Monday and email both me and the recipient the UPS tracking number. I called Monday afternoon to check on the status of the tracking number. I was advised that the bike had not been boxed yet. I had to ask "why?" before I received the reply that the box did not come in today. After asking if the box would be arriving tomorrow, I was told by the employee "I don't know". The entire conversation had to be pulled out of the employee as he offered no explanations or apologies on his own. The general gist came down to the fact that he didn't know when the box would arrive and even when the box did finally show up, he didn't know when the bike would get boxed up because "they have a lot of other packages to box up first". Essentially, customer service means NOTHING to this location! The fact that they had my bike since Friday and promised to have it shipped on Monday means absolutely NOTHING to them. It doesn't matter that time is of urgency and that someone is actually waiting to receive the bike. They could have called and explained the situation, but instead I had to seek out all information regarding this transaction. I made the decision to pick up my bike and go elsewhere to have it shipped. As I walked into the store (which was empty of customers), the employee that I was just speaking to on the phone was sitting in a chair reading a magazine. So nice to see that he was working hard on getting all of those packages boxed up for their customers (said VERY sarcastically)! After I asked politely for the bike and all paperwork back, he silently got up, brought me the requested items and handed them over. Not even an apology was made. THIS IS EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will not only never go back there again, but I will also tell everyone I know to take their business elsewhere where they might be treated as if their patronage is valued and appreciated. I suggest taking your packages to be boxed at The Packaging Store on Ave C and PCH in Redondo Beach. Now they know how to give proper customer service! read more

I will add to what everyone else has noted about the older woman who is the "manager". She is beyond rude, will not make eye contact, and absolutely refuses to be helpful. I came in with a package and when she quoted me the cost, I said it was too much. She said she would send it for me via the Post Office and prepared a label - Priority Mail. It is now eleven days later and the package has not been received and the Manager informs me that it has nothing to do with her - to check with the Post Office. The Post Office tells me they have never seen anything like this. All they can see is that a label was prepared. Nothing more. I am so mad and frustrated and urge everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS UPS STORE. read more

When I called and spoke with Patty, she was very knowledgeable and helpful, but spoke so fast that it was clearly communicated that I was a nuisance. When I arrived at the store, I was one of two people in there (so it wasn't that busy), and she was still talking like the micro-machine guy, only this time it was whilst correcting and ordering around her employees. She was so rude to those guys that I felt embarrassed for them and it made the whole experience awkward for me, but that wasn't the worst of it. The price was outrageous. Online, I was quoted $38 for shipping, $2.50 for fuel surcharge, and $11 for insurance ($0.80 for each $100 over the first $100). In the store I was charged $62.58 for shipping, $5.32 for fuel surcharge, and $28.55 for insurance ($2 for every $100 over the first $100). I understand that the franchise can markup their prices a bit, but this was about a 100% markup on the whole transaction ($51.50 vs $96.45). I was too shocked, embarrassed, and rushed (see above) to halt the transaction. I only looked up the prices online afterwards to verify my suspicion that I had been taken advantage of. I certainly won't be back. read more

I checked it out on Yelp and i was a little hesitant, but when I got there, I was really happy with the customer service. Kelly is the new owner and she was so friendly. Got here at 8:20. Sign says they open at 8:30. It's now 8:50. An older man walked up to the door, unlocked it, ignored me standing there with my package. When I asked if they were open now, he shook his head and got into his car. That was 15 minutes ago. He's still just sitting there. I'm only here for a package dropoff for my boss, but I can't even do that I guess. UPDATE: The older lady that everyone complains about is most definitely on something. She skittered up to the door, freaking out at someone on the phone about how she was going to be here for a little bit and then go "back up to the place", speaking really fast and throwing her hands everywhere. When I walked in to drop off my box, she had a broom and was "sweeping" styrofoam bits, aka flinging them wildly around the room and huffing like it was a marathon. The guy who was actually sort of working the counter wasn't off his rocker, but he was far from competent. Never again! read more

Avoid this business. Period. I went here to get a data bank self-query document notarized in order to process getting my pharm tech. licence at a later date. The older woman at the desk turned me away because apparently the document did not say what "type" of notary signature was needed for the form. Then she said I was not even authorized to get this document notarized, and there was no "signature line". None of this is necessary to notarize a document! You just need your ID, the document (and a copy), and to sign it before a notary who will then sign and stamp it. She then said it would cost $40. Ha! I went to my bank, no fuss, AND the service was free! Please stay away from this woman, she had all the signs of a drug user--erratic behavior, shaky hands, dry gaunt face, and aggitated. read more

I usually pack my own stuff so when they packed my items I kept a watchful eye, they were very careful and did a great job! They even cleaned it one more time before wrapping. They are supposed to open at 8:30am. I was there a few minutes after 8:30am, the front door was unlocked but no one was there, all the lights were off and the gate was down. Very unprofessional. If your hours of operation are posted and supposed to be one thing make sure you hire credible and reliable employees who are able to be there during those hours. Nathan and Kelly were superstars on a Saturday afternoon, staying after closing to help me get 36 boxes shipped for my company. I didn't even realize the store had closed until half way through. They never mentioned it ... just kept plugging away at my shipment. I was already annoyed to be working on a Saturday so their helpful welcome was such a relief ... especially after I was turned away from the UPS store on top of the hill (Peninsula Center)! Apparently there was only 1 person working up there and he said he couldn't help me because my shipment was too large....! New favorite UPS store found. I'm currently planning a move back to Los Angeles, and wanted to get information in regards to shipping some items through UPS. I was in town, so I decided to go to the local UPS store to get some quotes. The store manager Kelly was incredibly polite, friendly, and answered all of my questions. She gave me accurate quotes, and advice in regards to what boxes I should purchase to fit my all of my items. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use her store to ship the goods as everything is on the east coast. I even told Kelly at the beginning I couldn't use her store, and she still gave me an incredible amount of her time. the old woman who is either the manager or the owner has horrible customer service. they do not want to help you if you are dropping off a pre-paid package. i had a return box to amazon with and the ups label on the return box was not secured 100% they wanted to charge me for piece of tape. a piece of tape. the worst part is the attitude they gave me which was poor customer service. i would not recommend this shop to anyone. do not go there. read more
