RUN DON'T WALK TO FEDEX OR USPS. Falsely claiming to be up and running (for 3 days) when no services available due to WiFI down. Employee claimed "the boss" made them take the notice signs down because he didn't want to scare the customers! How do I know? I SCHEDULED a notary appointment, gave them my phone number and email. When I showed up, they said they couldn't do it because the location had no WiFi. No connection to UPS system!!!! He (the dialated-pupils, goofy grinning cler) thought it was funny when I suggested he could have called and canceled the appointment; his colleague just stared while she sat there munching on something. Hmmm. Don't trust your documents, presents, and valuables to this location. read more

This review is NOT for the UPS Van Ness Store who have exceptional customer service, but for their delivery service. I paid over $25 for a document to be delivered to Owings Mills, MD. I sent it on Thur night, I was informed it would be delivered the following day. this did not happen the first time because unfortunately the recipient went out briefly after waiting in all day. The package was not delivered on Sat. The package was not delivered on Monday. The recipient left a note on his door EVERY DAY to say he was at home and to knock loudly. The UPS drivers never knocked on the door. Finally it arrived on Tues. The driver said they attempted twice before but no one was home. THIS IS A LIE. They never knocked on the door. DO NOT USE UPS FOR DOCUMENT DELIVERY THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND THEY LIE. Even the UPS store said the drivers don't always knock. Why? Isn't this part of your job? read more

The manager of UPS store #0535 near Van Ness Metro in Washington, DC, Thomas Davis, who is always cheerful, courteous, and service oriented, provided outstanding service on a job duplicating a large map (4 feet x 3 feet) containing my family tree, but on a smaller scale. It took some experimentation. Thomas wanted to make sure that the names of the ancestors on the tree were easily read and that the yellow squares segmenting the original map did not detract from the look of the entire tree. I could see that the job would not be easy. However, the 10 copies turned out very well, surpassing my expectations. I know my relatives, the recipients, will be very happy. GOSH Is this place night and day from USPS. They are SO friendly and SO helpful, the way they go above and beyond to help the old confused people there, and explain all the little details to customers in the NICEST way, and care for the packages and mail left with them, its astounding. I live on the same block as the USPS in Cleveland Park but I have to ship many packages a week for work and I will walk an entire mile up CT ave to engage with the UPS staff, even though it costs more. Today (March 2nd, 2018) was one of the WINDIEST days we've had in Washington DC for a very long time. Notwithstanding the intensity of the winds, I had an item from Amazon (with which I was dissatified) that I was determined to return ASAP. So, after preparing the package to be returned via UPS, I rode the Red Line up to the UDC/Van Ness Metro Station. The UPS Store at 4401a Connecticut Ave., NW (which I had known about on sight for years because I tend to spend a fair amount of time in the surrounding neighborhood) is only a short distance from said subway station. I entered with my package, walked over to where an employee was and handed it to him. He quietly placed it to be mailed and asked me if I wanted a receipt. I said "Yes", and lickity split, it was done. I went on my way. It was all so easy. I love service like that. read more

I shipped a package from DC to Los Angeles 1 month ago today and still have yet to see it. The clerk at the store admittedly entered my address incorrectly, and after many calls and tracking headaches, they have made empty promises re delivery, to no avail, and have not offered to reimburse me. After filing a formal complaint with UPS -- I'm hoping to recover my costs and my belongings before another month goes by. I will never use this store again. read more

Amazing!! Thomas helped me as well as a few others while I was in the store on Monday, 28 February! He is amazing. Not only great at his job, but super helpful and efficient. He really seems to care about providing amazing service regardless of the type needed. I just needed a few documents faxed, and he offered to make copies. While waiting to confirm my documents actually faxed, he assisted a few others get passport photos and tape up boxes to be mailed. He truly seems genuine and like he enjoys what he does. I always come to this UPS location for my shipping and copying . All the gentlemen that I have had encounters with including Yani, Thomas, and Tyrone, have all always been very nice , professional, and genuinely willing to help. I have always had great confidence and my packages have always gotten to their destination safely. The store manager, Yani, has always helped me; him go out of his way to help me and other clients. I have also seen him and other colleagues all happy and always very helpful towards other clients, you can tell they all take great pride in what they do and provide exceptional customer service. I recently dropped off a return package to this location. A week later, there was no tracking updates. Package was not scanned. No proof could be provided by the local franchise manager, who was uncharacteristically unhelpful and rude, and he simply said "we are not UPS, call UPS." Not a great image for someone whose business operates as a UPS Store. There is no way to determine if the package ever left the store and UPS dragging its feet on a claim, instructing me to go back to the store. Just note that UPS Stores are franchises and could not give two flying F's about whether your package actually arrives. read more

During the pandemic, I cannot go into stores, because I am high risk. I called the Van Ness/UDC UPS store to ask if I could bring my boxes of holiday gifts that I wanted to ship to the front door and have someone take care of them while I waited outside. I spoke with Thomas. He told me he could take care of my request and gave me all the information I needed to provide for him to do so. When I got to the store, he came right out, picked up the packages, processed them, and brought my credit card and receipt back to me outside. I so appreciate Thomas' assistance and his professional, service-oriented manner. He is definitely an asset to UPS. read more

The staff is laconic and apathetic. Not particularly helpful either. It's unclear what the pricing scheme is here, although scheme seems like the right description. They charge $1/page to print and there is a minimum charge of $5 to use a credit card. There's a chance the staff may have messed with the contents of my box when I was checking on my print job. Two tales to tell about this store's horrible customer service. 1. UPS Stores are supposed to accept UPS packages. One day, our office pickup was missed and we had to take about 15 packages down there. They accepted them but called us the next day and told us we could never do that again. 2. The name of the store is the UPS Store. For two months, they've had a sign that says no UPS service. I asked how packages would be sent. "Fedex". They had some sort of spat with UPS that he wouldn't get into. It was very shady. Refused to take my prepared UPS box. I expect little of these franchises. I visit this store a lot in the past 2 years, I must say the customer service now compared to May of this year is excellent. The new ownership and leadership at this store are really doing a wonderful job catering to customers needs. The new owner has bought me a poster from his other location, the store manager is always nice , and a employee he is fairly new is always helpful and makes the customers feel welcome. They are doing a great job building the trust of a lot of former customers that wouldn't come to the store anymore because of bad customer service.
