A few weeks ago I went to this store to ship some items using their pack and ship service. I arrived a few minutes after 6 because I thought they were open until 7 and not 6:30. Instead of asking me to come back the next day, the employee said to me "it was really stupid of you to come at this time." She quoted me $800 to ship my items. I went to a different UPS location the next day and they shipped it for $130. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I left feeling very humiliated. read more

This location is FAST. I've stopped by here 2-3 times now, always with my package and a prepaid label (returning clothes to online retailers), and I'm literally in and out within 2-3 minutes. I go to this location often for photocopying and other services. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and if there's a line it moves fairly quickly. Recently, I had to take my disabled husband there to have a document notarized. It was closer than our credit union. The staff were amazing! If given a choice, i will not even give a star. Worst customer service. Rude shipping clerk. I had to return 2 pairs of shoes i bought online. The instructions was for me to use 1 label for each pair. I wanted to use 2 labels, but the clerk ignored my concern, and said 1 box and 1 label will be fine. After typing and flipping the box, she looked at me with a stern face. She asked me why I'm still there. I told her that I'm waiting for her to close my box with tape... duh! After all her bad service, I just can't leave her with my box open. She ruined my day. Even worst, after a week of waiting for a refund, I had to call the shoe company for follow-up. I was told that I should have used 2 labels for the return. Because of the missing label, my refund will be delayed. I was stressed, instead it would have been an easy return experience for me. The employee I worked with was incredibly rude. She kept talking over me and it escalated quickly. I didn't know that I was supposed to have the Amazon returns all set up before getting to the counter and when I asked how I know if there's a different code for different items, she said "how would I know that?" The parking isn't great (the lines seem closer which makes the spots smaller) but the friendly & helpful staff make up for it! This is a decent store. They just try to gouge you sometimes with pricing. So just beware and ask lots of questions. Worst experiences are with one clerk who always tries to upsell you and instead of finding you the best price options to ship your package like the others do, she acts like she can only sell you the most expensive option between USPS and UPS. I looked for a place on the website to leave a review and couldn't find one. I needed to notarize a letter, something I've never done before and the transaction started off rocky. When I approached and stated I needed something notarized the guy turned around and asked the other worker if she could do it. She said yes. Then he did not acknowledge me any further and was proceeding to acknowledge the person behind me (as I'm still standing at the register). So I go "oh do you want me to move over here?" He never said she'll be right with you or anything. Initially I felt the lady was rude but she turned out to be helpful and identified mistakes and issues with my letter which was very helpful. She then walked me back to the clerk and said charge her for notarizing 3 letters, 3 color copies and mailing 3 letters. The guy rings me up for 2/3, and proceeds to blankly stare at me. So I go ohh I'm mailing these also and he goes "yea" so I'm like okay is that included in this fee? Are we mailing them?? I'm confused you only charged me for 2 services. So then he looks to the lady like he doesn't know what I'm saying and he goes "what does she want to do?? (Or something to that effect). So I repeat "I want to ship them" and the lady said yes she's shipping them..."so what's the question???" It was very confusing and unprofessional. So I go "well he didn't charge me for shipping that's why I'm asking" and she goes to the guy "right, she was expecting that you'd ring everything up at once". Then the guy turns to me and asks what am I shipping. Perhaps their system doesn't allow him to ring all 3 at once I'm not sure. But he never communicated that to me which contributed to the confusion. I will opt out of returning here unless I'm pressed for time as it is a convenient location. Overall poor customer service. I felt stupid from beginning to end of the process and not valued as a customer. read more

We went to UPS as we had a box of crystal glasses that our daughter had just inherited from her grandmother and needed shipping to our daughter's home. The clerk was so helpful and supportive. She explained she was the best at this type of packing and never had a glass break. (This turned out to be true.) We left the glasses with her and paid the bill as we had other obligations. When the package arrived in Las Vegas, indeed every glass was intact. But more amazingly, there was a note from the clerk who wrote that she had a "compulsive moment and could not resist cleaning the crystal before packing." My daughter and I were overwhelmed. If service workers everywhere had such care, the world would indeed be a better place. Our complete thanks to UPS for having such a wonderful front line employee. read more

Very disappointed at this UPS location off Maple/ Orchard Lake... I had samples of fragrace with lotions and makeup to be sent to California .. the lady would not do it because she thinks it's going to explode on an airplane.. she repeated that twice to me and looked at her co worker and said do you want to go to jail if the plane goes down? Seriously lady!!!! I asked for ground first of all, she seemed like the knew what she was doing but too lazy to put a sticker on my box to explains not to put on an airplane.. ground only!!! She said they might take it from ground to airplane, if she did her job and just put the sticker on it and sent it ground would've been fine. Inconvenience for me on Monday morning before I had to go to work. She embarrassed me, will never go to this location again and I can walk there from my house. Went to the post office, no problem there on , my box will arrive on Monday..Will have to stick to places that are easy, happy, and know what the rules are.. for sending fragrace from MI to California !! read more

I had used the store many times in the past but at my last visit they insisted on repacking my item. They then put someone else's package address on it. They admitted to losing my package but refused to reimburse me for their mistake. I called and emailed multiple times and the owner Sharon refused to compensate me for my loss even after her store employee admitted the error and said they have insurance for mistakes like this. I review only when I can write stellar comments about a business. I cannot understand how some people receive a package from Nordstrom and the box has a dent and they give the shoes in the box one star because the shipping box has a dent. WTH? You should be required to provide some documentation of education to be able to write a review. Clearly, the people who have written poor reviews about this UPS store have either miscommunicated their needs, or don't understand the law of the land, regarding mailing packages. The only negative thing I can say about this store is that I hate Orchard Lake Road, and probably all of Oakland County agrees with me. About 3 times a week I shop at Plum Market and then head to this UPS store. Every person working here has an exemplary work ethic. Most importantly, they all know their "shipping stuff." I have 2 daughters who live in Chicago and since they allegedly don't have good baked goods in Chicago (oh please!) I often mail them my incredible creations. I receive an email indicating "Your package is on its way" and one the next day (always, no problem getting to Chicago in 1 day) relaying that "Your package has been delivered." Nordstrom, Zappos, Amazon, Nespresso - the employees politely take the package and issue a receipt so I am able to track my return. I usually have an email when I get home that it has already been recorded on Zappos or Amazon, and my refund has been issued. UPS is not the cheapest way to deliver, but I have mailed a simple Priority Mail envelope to Chicago and it has taken 3 days. I could ride my bike there faster than that. UPS has great options for overnight delivery for many locations and the staff knows when it is worth it to use that option. Lastly, my absolute FAVORITE employee, Tiffany, allows me to email her documents or articles, and she prints them off, binds them for me and emails me that they are finished. Are you kidding me? 15 years of teaching, and had I known I had this service at my disposal all those years, I would have been in heaven. She is getting me through my dissertation - yes, Tiffany is the living end, as is this store! read more
