Wow! What can I say? We stopped here as a recommendation from someone else and I have to say that the food delivers! The Birriq's Cousin (tacos) were amazing! I thought they were going to be crispy tacos but they weren't and I'm not upset about that. The flavor of the meat was incredible and it was stuffed with meat. Consume to dip it in was delicious. We also ordered the Birria Quesadillas and I have to say that was my favorite. The weight of the quesadillas cause of the amount of cheese and meat on it - woah! I also had the Thirsty Turban drink which wasn't something I've ever tasted before, it was limey but I can't put my finger on the other flavor.

I wound up having fam in town so we decided to give this place a shot last week. We placed the order online for pick up and headed that way. The wait time had said it would take about 25 minutes. When we got there, we were told it would be about 30 more minutes (so basically an hour...) We ordered quite a few of their items: Burris's Cousin, Chicken Tikka Tacos, Chicken Tikka Quesadilla, Chicken Tikka Cheesesteak, The Thirtsy Turban, and the Iced Frappa Chai. The food was solid. Really enjoyed all of it, but the sauces they give need a little work. They give you ranch, franks hot, and generic green salsa from the grocery store. If they start making their own fresh sauces, that'll be a game changer.

Took a to go order from The Urban Turban. Chicken Quesadilla was good, not a big fan of the tacos. Both had the same filling and taste. But what I wasn't a big fan of was the oil seeping through. Both the Quesadilla and Tacos were drenched with oil.

After hearing about this spot online me and my boyfriend had to try it! We ended up ordering the birria quesadilla and the chicken tikka burrito through the ordering portal on yelp on our way here. That ended up working out very well and our food was done within a couple minutes after arriving. Both items were super good and had so much flavor and fresh ingredients! Only wish was that the burrito was bigger. It looked like a much better size in the pictures on the menu but it was still very good. Overall, I definitely recommend this cute little food truck!

Wanted to try this place out due to seeing that viral foodie video! Tiny food truck with plenty of yummy food on the menu! The lime cream soda was sold out, so we got the rose soda instead and it was a very good replacement. Everything here is homemade and fresh! I will say you will have to wait a bit to get your order, so patience is key here. People ordered ahead of us had their food before ours...hence the 4 stars here. Didn't make sense, but again the food was worth waiting for and the guy thanked us for our patience in the end.

Finally got to try this place after seeing it on Instagram. Tried the shawarma, birria tacos, chicken tika tacos and the turban cheese steak. Everything was delicious.

Honest opinion: The food was just okay. We had to wait for 40 minutes due to orders ahead of us. The expectation of a longer wait was set during ordering, and I appreciated the upfront communication. Additionally, I liked that they prepare everything fresh, choosing that over prepackaged options. However, in terms of whether it was worth it, I would have to say mostly no. Here's what we tried: 1. Turban Cheesesteak and Chicken Tikka Cheesesteak: The meat on both was good, but something was missing, and it felt dry. Cheesesteaks should be gooier and less dry. The description mentions white and red sauces, and visually, there seemed to be some white sauce. However, it probably needed more as it didnt really add anything to the taste, and I couldn't discern if there was any red sauce. For the beef one, the steak pieces should be smaller to allow the cheese and sauces to dig deeper into the meat to enhance the flavor. I appreciate the experimentation, but it doesn't make the best cheesesteaks list, so let's not overhype it. 2. Birri's cousin (beef tacos): This was pretty good, but the fennel taste was too strong. I plan to give them another try, but next time, I'll order ahead to enjoy the food in the comfort of home or somewhere indoors since there's no available heating outside. I highly recommend adding one or two patio heaters, as it would significantly improve the in-person dining experience. There were other food trucks with heaters but unfortunately, they were closed at this hour. I'm leaving it at 3 stars for now, hoping to rate higher next time.

The Urban Turban elevates the food truck experience to another level. The food is absolutely amazing, and made even better by the sauces! We had the Birria's Cousin Tacos, Tandoori Tacos, Turban Cheesesteak and Turban Quesadilla. All of them were top notch!

W O W for a food truck. My goodness, the reviews that say HIDDEN GEM are NOT lying. Located in / near Round Rock, this place is a MUST GO if you are in ATX. I was hesitant recommending this because of its limited menu, prices, and the fact that it was a food truck but MAN was I mistaken. We went on a Friday evening around 8:30pm and there was another party of 3 sitting at their limited number of tables right in front of the truck. Parking was relatively easy as there weren't too many patrons but it was a dirt road. My husband went to order the birria quesadilla ($14) for me & a chicken over rice platter for himself ($13). I would give the chicken over rice a solid 3 out of 5, but it really reminded me of The Halal Guys and that's just something too familiar w/ my taste buds. BUT, when I say the birria quesadilla was OUT OF THIS WORLD, I freaking mean it. The meat was beyond tender, the flavor was rambunctious, and the simplicity of the quesadilla makes me really wonder "why the hell didn't I ever think of this?" I would drive the TWO hours from my home to come to this establishment and I rave about the quesadilla more often than I'd like to admit. I'd knock off the review from 5 to 4 star because it was quite the wait for these two items (20+ minutes), but I just can't. I believe there were just two gentlemen working in the truck and my food came out piping hot...so it was absolutely fresh.

The food is PHENOMENAL and so is the customer service! I can't wait to bring my friends here to experience this amazing fusion cuisine! 10/10! I had the Birria Quesadilla! It was the best quesadilla I've ever ever had!

Went to the Urban Turban the other night and it was delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked and our food was ready pretty quickly. My only complaint is that I really wanted to get mango lassi, but $6.99 seemed a bit overpriced. The rest of the food was fairly priced and I left very full. I will be returning!

These are the worst Birria Tacos I have ever had in Austin. And I'm not being extra. The tacos taste nasty!

These tacos were sooooooo bad. Like I'm not being extra they where extremely bland. The only thing that saved these tacos were the sides. If you want good tacos go to NoNo's or the food truck that's south by the bridge but these are so nasty!

This is how fushion food should be! I got taco birria and Tikka over rice. Both are really good. They got some kick packed in them, so if you're not able to eat spicy food, this is not for you. But if you're willing to indulge into the realm of spice, go for it! I ordered online, but the came still fresh!

Mango lassi felt watered down and my urban turban cheesesteak was so spicy I couldn't eat it. This place isn't for me.

With so many Texas Monthly Top 50 joints and honorable mentions nearby, it's easy to forget there's a BBQ joint right in your own backyard. BBQ Fiends is a food truck in Hutto that recently received an honorable mention from Texas Monthly, so it immediately moved to the top of my list. On an early Saturday morning, I stopped by Adam Orgain Park for the Catfish Derby. When that wrapped up, I parked at Rockabilly Brewing and was third or fourth in line at BBQ Fiends just before they opened. I think the best way to judge BBQ is by trying the brisket, pork ribs, and whatever sausage includes cheese, jalapeño, or chorizo. Their Texas Trinity plate, priced at $33, covered all three and came with one side. I went with the street corn. DANG. This holds up against some of the best BBQ I've had in Austin. If they keep up this quality, I can easily see them cracking the Top 50 list. The brisket was juicy, just like it should be. The sausage was bold and flavorful without being overly spicy. The ribs had a sweet, candied flavor. They were probably the least strong of the three, but still very good. The street corn was a standout and might be my favorite version I've had anywhere. I really appreciate when BBQ joints lean into their cultural influences, and the Spanish fusion here is excellent. Pairing the food with drinks from Rockabilly made for a perfect afternoon. You really can't ask for much more. I'm already planning to go back. With BBQ this good just minutes from home, there's no reason not to.

I reached out to them ahead of time to let them know we'd have a group ordering meals, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The owner went above and beyond, personally walking each order to our group one by one, which I truly appreciated-it's a lot of work, and it didn't go unnoticed! The food was phenomenal. Everyone in our group raved about how delicious it was, and even the pickiest eaters (including kids!) cleaned their plates. I ordered the two-meat plate with turkey sausage, rice, and potato salad, and everything was bursting with flavor--no complaints whatsoever. I had a bite of the the tacos and chopped brisket sandwich. They are not shy with the meat and the it was chef's kiss. This BBQ truck is a gem, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend them for great food and outstanding service!

I had the jhol momo, chili momo, chicken chowmein, fried rice, and chicken thukpa, and everything arrived warm, fresh, and perfectly packaged for delivery. That's important since I did not want a mess all over the other food. The chicken thukpa soup was exactly what I needed-flavorful, spicy, and comforting with tender chicken and fresh veggies. As a soup lover, this hit the spot and quickly became my favorite item. The chicken chowmein, which I requested to be non-spicy for the kids, was packed with flavor and got their seal of approval. I decided to try the fried rice (mixed with meat, shrimp and veggies). I really liked the flavors and it's definitely different than other places who just throw soy sauce on it. Will get this again. The momos are always a winner here, but my personal favorite remains the chili momo-crispy, spicy, and just incredible. This food truck has earned a spot on my go-to list, especially for that amazing thukpa soup. If you're looking for bold flavors and warming dishes, you won't regret giving them a try!

This food truck is located out of the way on an access road in between industrial businesses so you must actually be looking for this truck to find it as you wont just stumble upon it. Lets get to it! Chicken Tikka Masala Generally, tikka masala is made with yogurt marinated chicken. The chicken is then skewered and chargrilled, giving the meat an incredible charred flavor. A tomato and coriander sauce is common, but no recipe for chicken tikka masala is standard. Chicken tikka masala is similar to butter chicken, both in the method of creation and appearance. What is served here is a tikka masala sauce that is reminiscent of a classic curry-stand recipe. This is not haute cuisine; it's the kind of nuclear-orange tikka masala you crave when you stumble out of da club at 3 A.M.This dish has a punch that comes from a mildly spicy heat, but it's not extremely hot due to the creamy tomato sauce that balances out the spice. Butter Chicken Butter chicken is a type of curry made from chicken with a spiced tomato and butter (makhan) sauce. Similar to chicken tikka masala, the chicken is marinated for several hours in a mixture of lemon juice, dahi, Kashmiri red chilli, salt, garam masala, ginger paste, and garlic paste. The marinated chicken is cooked in a tandoor but may be grilled, oven-roasted, or pan-fried. The chicken on this dish is grilled. The butter chicken presented here has a velvety smooth texture and a slightly sweet taste. This is ideal for someone who is adverse to the spice of a tikka masala. Paneer Chili Momo I only had momos once before having them here. If you are like me the first time I tried these and want to know what the heck momos are: Momos are a traditional delicacy snack (Asian steamed filled dumpling) from the Nepali cuisine. Generally, momos are made with finely chopped freshly harvested vegetables with an option of minced meat. A momo is similar to Chinese baozi, jiaozi, and mantou, Mongolian buuz, Japanese gyoza, Korean mandu and Turkic manti. These momos are tender and have a bit of heat from the chili and a light crunch from the bell pepper and onion. Drunken Noodles These drunken noodles aren't spicy like the traditional Thai drunken noodles but yet more mild in flavor, which is surprising as the reason they are called drunken noodles is due to the dish's reputation for being a popular late-night street food option that packs the heat. There are variations on the recipe, but there are some ingredients that are usually included such as Thai basil, vinegar, chili peppers, and peppercorns. This dish had all the standard ingredients but not the heat. The dish is filling and flavorful and will pair well with a nice cold beer. For those who do not indulge in libations, a mango lassi will do. The people working at this truck went out of their way to make sure that Thing Two and I were pleased with our meal and offered the momos for free because of the extended wait time for the food (color me impressed). There are tables in front of the truck where customers can wait for their food. Thing Two and I enjoyed our mango lassis at one of the tables while we waited. Overall, this truck is a great addition to the Pflugerville area and should be visited if in the area. #supportlocal
