First time visit was a decent experience. The servers could use some education in dining experience. We were interrupted almost incessantly. At one point our meal had just arrived, we hadn't even taken a bite yet, and we were interrupted to see if any plates could be removed. This happened about 6 more times. We were constantly having our conversation detailed by a lengthy story from the server or being asked, yet again, if we needed water refills. I am all about attentive service but this jumped way over the line into intrusive. Food and drinks were good. I agree with so many reviews that the prices are high for what you get. 4 ping pong ball sized croquettes for $17? Work on the experience and providing a comfortable atmosphere. Brought us beer samples from the area which was awesome because it's always difficult to choose a beer. The decor is classy, clean and accommodating. I highly recommend the crab cakes, potato Croquettes, crispy Brussel sprouts and truffle fries. I had the oysters on the half shell...we must have been near the sea because they tasted like they were just plucked from the ocean. The Flat Iron steak was one of the best I've had. In retrospect I should have followed my first impressions, which I shared with my husband under my breath as we were led to our table , " wow the lighting and decor say I give up" Our waiter was friendly ams Upbeat but our beet salad was an outdated arrangement of awkward mounds of cold boiled beets with stale goat cheese , not crème fraiche and three silly crispy leaves of Brussels sprouts sprinkled with sad canned corn. Stopped in with low expectations and was blown away--from the service to the tapas--incredible experience. We had the short rib grilled cheese, truffle fries, and the crab cakes. Came here with two friends the other night and was really impressed with the tapas and cocktails. We had: - Corn fritters (like a hush puppy... it was delicious) - Figs with prosciutto - done really well, the prosciuitto was really crispy too, which was a little surprise - Cheese and charcuterie plate: good selection of hard and soft cheese, a prosciutto, sopressata, and chicken liver. - The butternut squash soup was one of the best I've ever had, if not a little thick. The flavors were amazing. - Crabcakes - eh, I've had better. But then again, I prefer baked to fried. - Porkbelly - this was good, a little dry, but tasty. I was not a fan of the dessert we ordered. It was a brownie (which was fine), but then it had a chocolate ganache on top, PLUS caramel, PLUS fluff. It was just... way too sweet. I only had one bite and even that was too much for me. If you like sweetness overload, get the brownie. Not for me. My cocktail was delightfully yummy. stopped by for brunch, I had a tasty Bloody Mary and my husband had a mimosa (bubbles with a drop of oj, the best kind of mimosa). We split the fried burrata, creamy and delicious. 1 star is a gift of a review. This used to be my favorite restaurant and I would make my family drive 45min out of their way to eat here. For all those times, I publicly apologize. This restaurant also used to be 4 stars which now has dropped to 3 1/2.. hmm I wonder why? Sunday hours state they close at 8pm on website, I called and spoke with a "manager" at 7:30pm letting them know I was already on my way over and wanted to place an order to go. I was told I had until 7:40pm and I said I would call back with the order. I literally called back 3 minutes later, the order was going to be a salad and the burrata melon appetizer, I was then told the chef had closed the kitchen. It was 7:35pm. I was blatantly lied to by the same person I spoke to not even 60 seconds ago, I thought I was losing my mind. The food there was nothing special to begin with but I thought during COVID why not support a place that looked like it would for sure go out of business. Any other legitimate restaurant that cares and is appreciative of their customers who are keeping them alive during this time, could have said "the kitchen is closed but you can only order a salad or something not from the kitchen", as I've heard during normal times pre-Covid. By that time I was already in front of the restaurant watching food still being served. I literally sat there watching food be served until 7:50pm and ordered food elsewhere. I've NEVER ever experienced such disregard for customers IN MY LIFE! To have told the same person not 2 min ago that I was on my way, and be lied to and spoken to with a condescending attitude is just so disrespectful. A faithful customers business lost all over a salad that would have taken less than 1 minute to put together. Don't state on a public website that you are open until 8pm and tell customers you take orders until 7:40p when you really don't. If The Vault stays open for business past November I'll be shocked. I guess the chef will then have all the down time in the world to tell his ex-customers to go scratch.. until that day comes, I will never eat or contribute another cent as long as I live in Beacon! read more

First of all, they actually have a vault behind the bar which looks awesome (I wonder if this place was once a bank?) I took away one star because the waitresses were not very attentive and it wasn't even that busy BUT we were in no rush and still absolutely loved this restaurant (and will likely return). I went with 2 other people and we each ordered a drink (Black Thorn and 2 bloody Mary's) all very tasty and well presented. To eat, we each had a few small plates. The oysters and mussels were fresh and very good. The flatbread of the day (Brussel sprouts and bacon) was my personal favorite! We also had truffle fries, pork belly tacos, and corn fritters (need more corn and less bread but still yummy!) Had a beautiful valentines dinner here with my boyfriend! The service was insaaaaanely fast (maybe a bit too fast -- we didn't feel rushed but we thought we'd have more time to enjoy the meal). I'm sorry to say one of the worst dining experiences of 2021, which is a shame because it was the first time I had taken my mom to a restaurant all year. Extremely overpriced for portion sizes (crab cakes are 2 for $17, the size of half dollars) and that's coming from someone who is used to city prices. Beef tacos were unavailable, and when we ordered our burgers with a "cheddar béchamel sauce" it was clearly a single slice - when we asked our waiter he said he "just found out they ran out at the beginning of the week." This is restaurant - make another cheese sauce, or update your online menu. We ordered two burgers - which were clearly not freshly formed, prefrozen, and not angus beef; only one of us got our food and the wait staff were just hanging out chatting until we called one of them over. Despite being friendly and polite, either our waiter forgot to put one of our burgers in, or the kitchen lost the ticket. Management must be relying on cocktails (which were great, but why is my waiter making them?) to support this place. It's really a shame, the location and vibe seem spot on but something is definitely off. read more

This is the second time I have been here and unfortunately I am not a fan. The menu reads well but the food itself is not awe-inspiring, to say the least. Burrata fish came with some strange yellowish coating, and the promised crispy prosciutto was literally one inch square - if I sneezed it would have blown away! But the biggest problem with my visit was that the cocktail menu described my cocktail as containing Beacon Whiskey - the local spirit made down the street - yet I saw the bartender open a new bottle of Jack Daniels and use that for my cocktail!!! Made a last minute hiking trip to Beacon and found this gem when we couldn't find seating for our party of 8 at another restaurant, and we were so thankful we did. The space is nice and use to be a bank so they have really high ceilings and the bar is in the back in the actual vault of the bank that was there. The food is served tapas style and there are sooo many great options on the menu. lol There was not one thing that the people at my table had that they didn't love. They have very great pairings and everything is flavorful. Although it can sometimes take a while for your table to be waited on, it wasn't terrible and service was great otherwise. My family and I are visiting from California, stumbled on this little town and this restaurant, and we all love it. The tapas plate are just the right size. My wife and I shared the short rib grilled cheese and the brussel sprouts - both were awesome! The grilled cheese comes with a tomato soup sauce to dip it in - so creamy and delicious! And we ordered the red velvet cake cookie - to die for! They have a nice selection of beers from East Coast breweries too. The Black Hog beer was really delicious too. Our waiter, Brian, was so nice and helpful. He recommended our dinner and dessert and we were not disappointed. The bar, restaurant , and bathroom are clean, and they have a really good happy hour. I would come back and visit again next time we're on the East Coast. All in all, I really enjoyed spending time here. I didn't feel it was a tourist trap or a rip off. Really love this place. Can get really expensive as the portions are small. Went on Friday. Sat at the bar and had an amazing margarita served on the rocks by a lovely bartender named Kim. She made a better margarita then I get served in some Mexican restaurants and I told her! I had the hummus platter. Sounds boring but the pita was fresh and warm and the hummus was home made (or at least tasted that way!). My friend and I shared a caramelized onion mushroom and spinach dish that was out of this world! The drawback is they need to serve it with a basket of French baguette sliced bread because this dish is best served on a slice of bread then right from the dish. Came here around 8pm on a Saturday and it was packed. We planned to eat dinner after sitting down and realizing the crowd was so loud we thought we were in a collage dive bar. We couldn't even hear each other talk from across a 3 foot table. We got an appetizer and a drink and went to another local place with a more calm less college kid atmosphere. Yesterday my friends and I had a reservation for 6:30 for 6 people. It was raining out and got stuck in a bit of traffic so we arrived to the restaurant at 6:40 on the dot. I told the hostess we were here for our reservation and 3 employees stood together and whispered back and forth for 5 minutes before turning to us to let us know we were "15 minutes late" so they had given our table away. I looked down at my phone and it was 6:45 on the nose so I said to her, "well it's 15 minutes now and we've been standing here for 5 so we weren't 15 minutes late. She changed her answer and said the hold time was actually 10 minutes....which doesn't make sense since they had clearly given our table away before those 10 minutes because we got there at the 10 minute mark. Their only solution was that we could sit outside in the rain or to leave. Needless to say we decided to spend our $$$ down the road at restaurant that was far busier and still accommodating when we told them what happened. Poor poor POOR management. read more

This was exactly what we were looking for. A wide variety of flavors served tapas style. The arugula and beet salad was perfect. The oysters were nice and fresh. Also had the calamari which was good. I'm not sure what the yellow sauce was it was served with it. It could've use a little more flavor. But no major complaint there. Also have the crabcakes and the roasted brussels sprouts. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and service was very timely. The only lacking part was that the food wasn't quite salted to my particular liking. I think a touch more salt would've made some of the flavors more lively. But that's just me. And we actually carry a small little container of Redmond real salt when we go out to eat. Very disappointed in how my group was treated last night (11/12). We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and went in for a table of six at 7:45. We had some younger people with us and right off the bat we felt judged and not wanted there just by how the hostess and a server handled the initial greet. It was busy but not crazy and there were several 2&4 tops open. They initially said that they didn't have a table. We said we'd gladly wait, which I think caught them off guard. I asked how long and she said around 8:00. At this point that was only ten minutes away so I said okay perfect. Then, clearly disappointed that we didn't leave, she said "well it could be closer to 8:15/8:30". I again said that wouldn't be a problem and we'd put our names down and get a drink at the bar. When we saw the bar didn't really have enough space for us to sit comfortably we asked if they could text or call when our table was ready as we were going to go across the street while we waited, they said yes and we left our contact information. They never called us for our table so at 8:40 I called several times to find out how much longer and the phone went unanswered. 4/6 of us are in the industry and not only will we not return, will definitely deter our guests from visiting this establishment. Extremely unprofessional and discriminatory behavior. Don't judge people on their appearance, we tip very well. The Vault is my go-to in Beacon. I'm not sure if they're doing brunch now, but pre-pandemic, they had a really great eggs Benedict. My culinary mother is super picky about restaurants and hard to impress and she loved it. Great spot for meeting friends, getting a quick bite, date night, and the cute outside patio is dog friendly. The mussels are great, Brussels sprouts are fantastic, and I really love the charcuterie. But everything is good! Also, like a dummy, I didn't realize the bar is a bank vault until, like, last year.
