The Yelp community continues to lead me to wonderful new experiences that I may not have found otherwise, and for that, I am grateful. The reviews on this place hit the nail on the head, and I'm wondering why I hadn't stopped into The Vault sooner. Walking in with a couple of friends, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly waitress. We opted to go belly-up at the bar, as a couple of drinks were in order. The bartender, John - who was also the owner - was exceptional. He was engaging with his conversation, treating us as if we had been sitting in those stools for years, which made for a very friendly experience. We took down a couple of drinks (I could've taken a bath in a vat of a giant Root Beer Old Fashioned they were so good), then I ordered a Meiller's Farm Pork Chop and wasted zero time ravaging the meat down to the bone. The meat damn-near melted in my mouth it was so tender; excellent. While this was my maiden voyage to The Vault, it will most certainly not be my last. I highly recommend this place, and am now looking for an answer as to why I had never been here before. read more

We arrived and were seated promptly in a not-crowded place for a Friday night. It soon filled up and quickly became convivial. Our drinks - cocktails and beer - were served quickly and were TASTY. The beer selection was not huge but good quality. The cocktails were unique and good selection of spirits. Now the food - EVERYTHING we ordered was DELICIOUS. The figs - oh those figs- you must get the figs. If not as a small plate - then as dessert. They were deliciously crispy, sweet a bit salty and juicy. Don't leave The Vault without trying the figs. My handsome date had the Tuna with Soba Noodles. It was ok, the noodles were cool and the Tuna was warm- a little more cooked than we expected. It was still good (not as good as the figs). I ate the Spanish Pulpo, the tentacles were cooked to perfection. The outside was delightfully charred and yet the delicate insides were still tender and juicy. The accompanying watercress salad was quite bitter and too overpowering for switching back and forth between Pulpo and salad. Soooo- you guessed it - I just kept eating those fricking figs. So good. Really enjoyed our tapas at The Vault. We shared the charcuterie plate, quail and foie gras. The waitress was pleasant. The charcuterie was a large sampling of sliced meats, cheese and fruit. We had to ask our waitress to identify the cheeses as nothing was said when it was first brought to our table. I thought that was a poor move it wasn't very busy. My recommendation of The Vault is based on the quality of the food that came out of the kitchen not the service. The quail was served on butternut squash and with a wonderful gravy . Place is really nice and I would go back. Bathrooms were clean just a bit dusty as were some of the tables when the sun comes in those big windows you can see a lot of dust. My friends and I stopped by the small town after a short hike at beacon mountain to grab a bite before visiting Dia Beacon. We were wandering on main st when the live music caught our ears, so we decided to have lunch at this pleasant restaurant. The meal was surprisingly good. The portion of tapas is small. We got a few tapas for share: pork belly, New Orleans oysters, grilled beets, and mushroom; for main dish, we got rabbit with potato gnocchi and duck breast with rice for share. Everything was flavorful and well presented. Pork belly (4/5) has a crispy skin and juicy meat. It is well flavored. The New Orleans oysters (4.5/5) covered in spinach are creamy, fresh, and juicy! The natural sweetness of the oysters are also well maintained. The main dishes are solid too. The rabbit dish is well flavored. It's a great idea to wrap the rabbit meat in savory sauce because the meat is very lean and a bit dry. Potato gnocchi is soft and chewy. The duck meat is well executed too. Flavorful, crispy skin, goes really well with the chewy creamy rice. Only thing to complain about is that they are too slow... Overall, very decent place. read more

Very quiet lunch. I wonder if people are as intimidated by the pricing as I was. I didn't think my two tapas plates would fill me up but was pleasantly surprised. It was a perfect size lunch. Spoke with the owner who told me my calamari came from india. The crushed roma tomatoes with garlic slices to dip the squid it was good enough to eat with a fork. The heirloom tomatoes & mozzarella plate is a nice snack by itself and the balsamic reduction is made in house. $14.06 is about $4 too much for me to make this my regular lunch place and not have a "doggie bag" but the decor is nice (they didn't change much from when it was DimSum GoGo) and the food tasted good. I'm trying to think of an appropriate excuse for spending $60 on dinner. (I want to try the crab cakes "exchange plate" $12, the cheese & charcuterie "trust" $17, & the smoked crispy duck "deposit" $26.) read more

All the food was good but small portions hence the tapas label. I had the roasted beets, figs, scallops, shrimp rolls, mussels, and mushrooms. I went to lunch at the vault today, after calling all times of the day the week before for reservations. Luckily it was open - had its own parking lot and we were able to secure an out side table. The hostess was pretty harried answering the phone, seating people, then being the server as well. Sadly I received my short rib sliders with a side of brunette hair. The meat tasted good but was not hot, the slaw tasted good too. I didn't have the heart to complain about the hair in my plate because a half hour later a disheveled busboy shuffled in through the door. This woman was by herself with the sleepy cook until hung over busboy came to work. Dessert was pre made bomba and warm churro's. Not sure if churros were raw inside or if it was melted cream. So far no stomach issues.... I understand that restaurants and their workers are feeling the effect of our horrible economy. I feel for them and now when going out my expectations are extremely high. A fifty dollar lunch should leave me satisfied and happy. Right now I'm pretty disappointed, and kicking myself for not spending the fifty dollars on groceries and making myself and my friend a nice lunch, but I really needed to get out on a beautiful day. So I count my blessings and send them to the hard working staff in the front of the house at the vault. read more

My friend and I were there last Saturday. We ordered the baby ribs. The presentation was good but the ribs were so cold. They did not wanted to to replace them only heat them up. We doubly accepted and of course it was horrible. Meat was dried and so hard. It was like they served us a few days old food. Totally waste of time and money. read more

Interesting experience in not a good way. Wine at $11 a glass was a mere tasting, crusted salmon still had skin on it, given rib eye tacos instead of chicken we ordered. When the correct tacos came to the table they didn't put them down and explained they needed clarification in kitchen. They came back out once again and asked if we really wanted them as waitress held them up high. Bottom line the restaurant didn't want to correct mistake and I am sure they were given to another table. Speed of food delivery made us question the freshness. Would not recommend. read more

It was a nice sunny day too and we were able to sit outside which was a treat, although the bees kept trying to eat my food! Can't blame them, it was really good! I love tapas, so I had a few that were delicious! Also enjoyed a couple of their cocktails which were great! Our server was very friendly and made a few recommendations that didn't disappoint. First of all, the host was super friendly, accommodating, and thoughtful. It's always a little hard to seat 9 people and esp in the middle of the social distancing rules. We were able to get seated almost right away outdoors. The menu was varied and ranged. We had the short ribs grilled cheese, brulee figs, mussels (white), the tuna, calamari. These were phenomenal and so tasty. The pulled pork tacos and the chicken were too dry. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, we shared a few tapas, the mushrooms and garlic shrimp were excellent, thai mussels were ok, beef sliders were awesome and the main dish - chicken/asparagus was amazing. Had a lovely Easter brunch here with my wife. It was our first vacation after battling the COVID pandemic as two healthcare providers. Honestly, everything was just "fine" or "okay." It was good for the night, but I wouldn't go back. The hostess was super sweet and accommodating. The staff seemed very stressed and running around like crazy, literally walking into things. The food was meh, definitely overpriced. I think the ambiance killed it for me. The bar looks super cute, then the rest of the inside looked like a fancier diner. Took awhile to get our check so we asked the runner who then asked the bar. Would I say stay away? After you get past it and place your order, be prepared to wait. Hopefully you aren't hungry because once the food does arrive, it's a major disappointment. Apps: hummus (lumpy) and the greek salad flatbread special -- spicy peppers, feta cheese, and lettuce laid across cold, supermarket-esque "flatbread." It was sad. Dinner: burger and fries to play it safe. The burger was either frozen meat or old and so overcooked that it was inedible. Certainly not medium nor fresh (or beef???). The wait was horrifically long and they weren't packed. We waited almost 20 minutes before a server came. The food had such potential. One of those places where everything reads delicious on the menu, but it doesn't deliver. The special wings of the day were some of the worst wings I have ever eaten. The hummus was good enough. Lastly, the sliders weren't ground beef, but possibly prime rib. Anyhow, there was visible, unappetizing chunks of fat. Based on my research, I thought this was going to be an adorable speakeasy. It felt sort of like a Cheesecake Factory? We enjoyed sipping drinks by the bar, but the cocktail menu felt dated / run-of-the-mill, and the food menu positions itself as fine dining but just seemed very average. Had dinner there yesterday while visiting town. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but we had a frustrating experience with the hostess and found the social distancing policy was applied inconsistently. When my boyfriend and I arrived we were told we could have a corner table on the porch. It had been raining and so sitting on the covered deck was important to us (plus those seats are more scenic). After we were already offered that table, the hostess instead sat a party that arrived after us and told us we couldn't take a nearby two-seater on the deck because it would be too close to the party she just seated. I said something to her and she wouldn't budge; she should have just asked the other people to wait or offered them a seat elsewhere in the restaurant. Instead, we had to sit under umbrellas in the lot which again, was an issue given it had been raining. Soon after, the hostess sat other guests right next to us, just as close as we would have been to the people who cut the line and were taking up space on the deck. tl;dr: we lost our table to a party that arrived after us; were seated in a less comfortable, less desirable part of the restaurant; all in the name of a social distancing policy that wasn't even being enforced consistently. read more

Went here for lunch because the cafe down the street had a very long wait time and this place had not a single person. I'm not sure why though. They have very nice outdoor seating which we sat in and a very extensive menu. Perhaps the steep prices turn people away? I had a cup of coffee, burrata and a veggie poke bowl. Everything was wonderful. The burrata was especially delicious. The poke bowl was lacking a variety of vegetables but I don't have anything to compare it to since it was my first bowl and I enjoyed eating it. I would recommend this place! read more

We ordered the following: Parmesan and shrimp fritters- these tasted good, but we couldn't get past the fact that they tasted like pepperoni flavored Combos. Combos taste good, but not nice-restaurant-good. Pork belly- some parts were inedible (either too fatty or too tough to cut through). Not cooked well, but the flavor was ok. Beef sliders- good, not great. I liked them better than my fiancé, who was unhappy with the quality. Manhattan clam chowder- salty, and again, just ok. I had the Shrimp Skewer (a little undercooked), and the Hummas and Pita Bread (nice mix with onion and olive, perfect texture. Also had the Shrimp Spring Rolls, very good, but had the "rice skin" wrap, of which I am not a big fan. Also ordered Roasted Beet Salad, very nicely balanced with shaved ricotta and properly dressed with a light vinagrette. Add two nice draughts and a cocktail, for a total of $68 plus tip. The entire Main Street of Beacon, NY is a wonderful destination with shops, galleries, and a beautiful two hour pub crawl naturally created by the flow of the town.
