I ordered cheese curds, catfish with red potatoes and salad bar. Cheese curds were crispy in the outside, buttery on the inside, and served with a homemade ranch that accompanied them perfectly! I was full after eating way too much salad so I took everything home, wondering if it would taste good reheated. Not to mention, it took about 30 minutes to get our food so we were just ready to be at home after working all week. We didn't expect the wait to be so long. The next day, I placed the fish in the air fryer and potatoes in the microwave. Potatoes needed butter and seasoning as they were dry and not much flavor. The fish...woah! Even reheated and crispy again from the air fryer, it was wonderful. I squeezed some fresh lemon on it and a little salt...wow! We'll go again but not plan on wanting to eat right away in case it takes as long to get our food again. If it's as good fresh as reheated, we may have finally found our favorite location for Friday fish fry.

The hotel and the restaurant have been thoughtfully redesigned and renovated. I understand it was completed about two years ago. You can tell a lot of time and money went into updated 17 rooms and a restaurant so I can appreciate the dedication as small business owners. I also think it was very smart to make it dog friendly as I know from owning air bnb you will book twice as fast as if you don't. Any dogs we have encountered were well behaved and better than most kids these days. We went to the restaurant last night but had to sit inside because of the Canadian wildfires which I must say diminished the ability to enjoy the area and I'm sure they ended up with a lot of cancellations because the hotel was only about 1/2 full but the restaurant was doing a decent business. The restaurant was good. A few things a miss but overall I would return and may do so tonight if the smoke lifts to be able to enjoy the outdoors in JULY! My only criticism is if I ask for bread like a bread basket don't tell me you have one when you don't but still appreciate the effort. The bartender was very sweet and I would say the Alfredo was better than the bolognese because I got a pappardelle noodle when it said tagliatelle and the sauce was not a true bolognese and had a lot of big chunks of Italian sausage. Yes it was the chef's spin on it but was pretty tasty and I could tell homemade. The Wente Pinot could be improved upon but the brownie was outstanding. Chefs kiss. Give them a try and I think you will enjoy. Yes it's not in egg harbor but for us worked well because we're leaving for Milwaukee to see friends so being on the south side worked for us. The town itself isn't much and honestly if it wasn't for this hotel there wouldn't be anything for about 15 minutes in any direction for other food options. Kudos to the owners for turning around an old run down place and giving it new life! Your beds are comfy your lakefront is great and your efforts are clear.

The Supper Club is run by Mathew (not sure if it was his first or last name), an old Canadian hockey player who also mans the bar. When you walk in, you usually start out in the bar where Mathew is a wonderful host. He makes a wicked Martini and the stories of his days as a hockey player are great. One thing Mathew will tell you "Whatever you want, you can have." He means that too. I wanted a different cut of steak with the Surf and Turf, he made it happen. No fuss, no huge extra change charge, just said let him have the strip instead of the filet on his surf and turf. That is service. As we went into dinner, he made sure to tell us to come back to the bar after dinner as he had something special to share with us. The dining room was pretty simple Midwestern steak house. Nothing amazing, but very comfortable on a winter night. The starter was a homemade tomato bisque which was to die for. I think we had two bowls each it was that good. The steaks were flavorful, juicy and cooked to perfect order. One thing to know about Wisconsin steak houses, your steak is usually going to be topped with a little butter, so if you don't want the butter, let them know up front. The sides and salads were also of the freshest. Mathew informed us that he gets all the stuff locally sourced and it is all processed and made on premises. We finished dinner and went back to the bar. Mathew presented us with a Butterzoid, a concoction of his own design. He shared his recipe with us, but I don't want to give it away. You'll have to go see him. Imagine an alcoholic Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and you have the Butterzoid. Served in a large glass and big enough for two to share. It was the perfect end to a wonderful night. If you find yourself in Green Bay, make the 45 minute drive out to Clintonville for a dinner at Mathew's. You won't be disappointed.
