I finally returned after reading more recent reviews that were positive. Now the restaurant operates in a food truck in the parking lot. The service I received here was 1000x better than my first experience! I ordered the #1 Rib dish with collard greens, cabbage and curry chickpeas. I thought the rib bone was sugar cane, but it's not. I'm actually not sure what it is but assume it's casava/yucca. What a nice treat to add more food to the plate. The ribs were delicious, curry chickpeas outstanding, cabbage really good but wasn't expecting them to be fried and collards were good. The toast was toast. Overall, I give my meal an A+. I was unable to eat it all in one sitting, nice bonus in today's environment. Now that they have a dedicated space for the vegan food and service was great there, I would return. So I've been stalking this place for the last few days while being down this way. Granted it was a 20 minute drive for me so still not really in the area. But I'm always up to driving a little bit for some great vegan food. Definitely missed the driveway, regardless of the reviews I read! Nothing a quick turn around couldn't fix. Came on a Tuesday around 1:15. One person ahead of me and it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. So I sat at the table and enjoyed the music from next door! Even with my stalking, it still took me a minute to figure out what to order. The Moxtails are what drew me in. Also knew I wanted to please my inner fat girl and order two plates! LOL Rib Trash Plate - 3 sides that are included. Ribs - liked the texture and flavor. You're mostly tasting the BBQ sauce, a little flavor from their choice of protein but I appreciated the texture. Collard greens - Love that they don't taste like the greens I make. They have mushrooms in them. Also have this sweet and savory taste to them. Not traditionally flavored but delicious! Mac and cheese - made with nuts as posted, I'm assuming cashews but didn't confirm. Pretty good flavor, I don't mind it at all! Quinoa and chickpeas - multicolored quinoa, good flavors. I'd order it again. Not a bunch of flavor but expected that. Type of side that I get for the healthy factor vs the flavor. Moxtails - 2 sides included. Let me first say that the flavor of the Moxtails was very good. I was expecting there to be something in it that resembled oxtails' texture, so it was lacking in that area. The dish has chick peas, potatoes, carrots, celery, peppers, and onions. With the amount of gravy, I would have expected more rice but it was like a small spoonful. Guessing the peas and corn were included in the rice but not for sure. Cabbage - I'm a fan. Gives me this stir fry vibe with an almost smoke/char flavor. I will say that it was pretty greasy after take a few bites. I looked underneath the cabbage and sure enough there was a good bit of grease. Okra was good as well. My husband and I stopped by The Vegan Side of Things, while heading home. The restaurant was closed for the day, but we were able to purchase two different flavors of the delicious vegan juices. I returned the next day and purchased the mocktails, with fried okra and collard greens for his sides. I purchased the veggie plate with Chick Peas and Quinoa, Fried Okra, Collard Greens, and Cabbage. The service was great! The food was delicious. The Vegan Side of Things, is a food truck, but seating is provided. The closest restaurant in the same shared parking lot, plays music that was pleasant to listen to. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of our meals and the other juice that was purchased, but I do have a picture of one of the juices. We will definitely revisit. read more

Blink and you'll miss it is correct! Lol I can attest to what other Yelpers say about this spot. But the owner frequently puts on music or you'll see the BBQ pit placed close by the road. I love food period so this food truck serving vegan was no problem for me. I had the oyster tacos and it was very very tasty! Even the fries were seasoned well. I'm not even vegan yet but this food had me thinking twice about it! This was best vegan food I've had thus far!! I got the rib platter with cabbage, curry chickpeas and mac n cheese. I was very impressed with how flavorful the cabbage was. Mac n cheese was perfectly nutty and creamy. No doubt everything was above average for sure . My partner got the Philly and mac n cheese and she enjoyed hers too. However we tried the Soul roll as a side those were okay, didn't wow me. But this review is really about our meals. We went to the Vegan Fest in Atlanta by the Beltljne and tried the food truck from The Vegan Side of Things. And omgggggggg the most delicious vegan Mac n cheese everrrrr. The perfect t gooey ness of the cheese with the perfect seasoning and can we say that it had FLAVOR! I loved it! We also tried the vegan ribs which were made of jack fruit. Ohhhh so much seasonings and the perfect bbq sweetness! We had collards and beans for the sides and everything had so much taste! Finally made my way across the country to try this amazing vegan food and it did NOT disappoint! The hardest part was choosing between the many options. Yippee..I finally found this place. It's off the beaten path kinda tucked away.if you'd blink you'd miss it. lol Anyway I was excited to finally get some real decent vegan food in Henry county without having to trek into ATL or other places. When I pulled into the gravel parking lot I met a nice lady and asked her had she ever eaten here before.She turned out to be the wife of the owner. I happily scanned the menu I couldn't decide.plenty of great choices. The service was great and the owner/cook was pleasant. Ignore the other reviews that don't give this five stars. This is a total gem and must go! My girlfriend and I are vegan cooks and planning on opening a café and the spot was just really incredible.
