This used to be one of my favorite KBBQ spots in the south. It's gone down tremendously, but the prices continue to rise. The meat quality isn't the same anymore. The seasonings aren't as good. The worst part is that now they charge you for the appetizers you order. We wont be going back. read more

We came here when they first opened years ago and it was good for McDonough. We decided to come back recently to see how it held up, and after this visit I would not be coming back. Food is expensive with horrible quality of meat and everything is overly marinated/seasoned. Everything tasted too salty or too sweet. The best thing was the meat without any marinade, like brisket. The service is always horrible. Didn't get our sides, drinks, and meat till like 10-30 minutes in with us just waiting there, no drink refills, server barely came to check on us throughout, etc. The table next to us who got sat after us even got their meats and side dishes before us. read more

I went there last night. It was my first time having Korean BBQ and it was such a great experience. We had the Cajun shrimp, chicken dumplings, calamari, short ribs, seasoned chicken, mushrooms and onions, broccoli, spicy radish salad and all tasted great (quite the experience). We ordered another round of Cajun shrimp, calamari and chicken dumplings. We could've done without the kimchi, egg soufflé and corn cheese. It was okay. And the tropical mojito I didn't care for either, but the server was able to add more puree and soda since drink sales were final. I had an amazing dinner experience with my family yesterday at KPop BBQ and Bar - McDonough. I made a reservation for 6 PM in advance for a party of six. I recommend a reservation if you plan on dining in on Saturday evening. There will be a wait without one. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated on time. Our server Kandi was AMAZING. Not only was she knowledgeable about the menu, but she was kind and funny. Kandi did a great job giving us an overview of what to expect during the experience including the dinner pricing ($35 for all you can eat per adult and a price of $9-11 for the kids under 12) and included food options. KPop BBQ & Bar also had a vegetarian option for my mother in law, who opted to enjoy veggies only! The staff really worked together throughout our experience and everyone seemed to enjoy being at work and helping us. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. We opted for the dinner options which included a variety of meats, appetizers and side dishes. My favorite appetizers were the dumplings, spicy Korean fried chicken and the salads! My favorite meats were the beef bulgogi, short ribs and ribeye. My family loved the rice cakes too. The birthday guy enjoyed a tower of Sapporo (Japanese beer) and I enjoyed the Dream Glow (which was a strawberry lemon drop). The Dream Glow was so good! We also chatted with another employee named Aley who was so sweet and recommended the soju lychee shots! It was my first time trying them and they were so good (sweet and no burn). First and easily the biggest thing that knocked them down a star...They clean the grills with WET PAPER TOWELS after each use....and unless you stop them and ask them for a new grill they will just slap meat on top of the little bits of paper towels chud left over from scrubbing the grill plate down. Whhyyy.... Moving on... This place is alright, other than what I said above, when compared to it's competition. It's a step up when compared to other options in the immediate area. The service was polite, but I feel like they avoid the tables after the first initial request for meat. Almost as though they stall so you don't order as much food as you would if they were around and actually visible. Could just be that I came in for lunch, but...something tells me this may be part of the business model..but I haven't been to their other location to compare. I have eaten at plenty of K-BBQ places to compare this place, with others though. Place was tidy and I will admit the flooring was a lot cleaner and less greasy than most of the places I have eaten at. I was fully expecting it to be slightly slippery, but wasn't at all...so kudos to their cleaning crew! Food, all the Banchan was tasty and well prepared. I really liked the citrus dressing on the salad. That was a nice change from the other places I have been to. The extra dressing made an excellent dipping sauce for the spicy beef bulgogi...they should offer that instead of the "yum yum" sauce. I realize "yum yum" sauce is easier for SOME to wrap their heads around rather than the more traditional options...not a fan...I prefer the classics. The Smoked Pork Belly was my top pick out of the meat selections. I was a little disappointed in the portion sizes. It's not a deal breaker but they are smaller than most. Steamed rice was average. Little on the dry side and wasn't fragrant, but it wasn't bad. Rice sticks were really good. They had a slightly crispy aspect to them which I wasn't expecting but totally did them service. I would have ordered more of those. All of the pickled veg and kimchi was as to be expected, I ate every bit of it and asked for more salad because of the dressing! I like the menu set up and being able to order pre-selected appetizers with your meal, that's included with the meal. Nice touch. This is a nice place with great customer service. It is your typical Korean bbq place with a twist! The food is good but very pricey. It's an all you can eat place only! The price on the weekends is $38 for all you can eat but does not include a drink. $38 is bit steep if you are not extra hungry. Plus they add a 20% gratuity charge on all parties. The bill for 8ppl was about $350 which the place is not a fine dinning restaurant. The only veggies they have on the menu is onions and mushrooms no variety. Not sure if I will go back due to price and no variety in veggies. read more

So food is always amazing, I have been coming since it opened right around COVID time and the music and service is usually great. There was one time where they said they would text/call us when our table was ready and gave us an estimate so we sat out in the car since it was busy in there and waited till right around the estimate before going back in without a phone call to get an estimate of how much longer and they said they called and left a voicemail when we didn't even get a call or voicemail. They were turning us away, but my husband asked for a manager to explain the situation and they sat us. I felt bad that we had to get management, but they were understanding when i showed them we didn't get a call/voicemail/text. read more

One of my best friend decided to treat me to a Birthday dinner at this spot. Based on the photos & good reviews we were both convinced to give this place a try. On the weekends make sure you make a reservation, if you don't the wait time will be close to an hour wait. Upon arrival, the young hostess at the door was very nice and hospitable. When me and my friend decided to go to this spot a huge storm was under way making the place more crowded. There was times the power briefly went out however business was still going. Once seated, our server came over to take our drink menus. Since the place had a surge of people our server for a moment appeared overwhelmed but professional. It took him a "good minute" to give us our drinks we ordered. Me and my bestie are devoted tequila drinkers meaning we want top shelf patron. The server came back to our table to let us know they didn't have it. As a default we got the watermelon Rita which was really weak drink. Like it literally tasted like juice so we got two tequila shots. That helped tremendously! Now on the food portion which was my favorite part of the service. You get to cook your own food on the grill and can get unlimited protein and sides. When you get to the table there are sides lay out for you. Those sides include two types of salads, kimchi, sesame broccoli, sample of pasta salad, pickled radish to eat with your meal. One person orders their two proteins and they bring the raw meat out for you to cook. I got bulgoli beef and teriyaki chicken. To eliminate cross contamination the beef was cooked first then the chicken. After each meat is cooked it is sanitized by the server. My friends choice of meat was pulled pork belly and spicy beef bulgoli. We thoroughly enjoyed our protein and there was endless of sides you could order as well. The sides range from corn cheese dish, ramen(which was kinda watered down), Korean fried chicken essentially was mini chicken nuggets, fried chicken dumpling and my favorite spicy rice cakes which by name sounds weird but it's amazing. I got seconds of the rice cake and kimchi. There was periods when we didn't see main server due to there being large parties in attendance. We had a second server who gave us our sides for our protein. The ambiance honors the KPOP music and Asian flare in the restaurant. By the photos and furniture it gives off an Asian vibe from the door. The TV overhead plays all KPOP music videos from various artists. It definitely complements the restaurant & sets them apart from other Korean BBQ restaurants. read more

I've always wanted to come to a Korean bbq spot. This one was pretty decent. The vibes were there, the food was great, and the waiters were extremely attentive and helpful I tried so many different things. The marinated pork was so flavorful! This was such a great birthday experience. My waiter or even a waiter walking by would always ask if I wanted more or needed anything and help me with my grill if I needed it. They took very good care of my family and enhanced our experience by being so nice and helpful. The bathrooms were nice and clean so that's a plus. There's also large tvs above to watch kpop. I'm so happy that we're getting a more diverse food selection in the area besides your typical fast food restaurants. read more

What the south has been missing, it's so refreshing to see diversity in the Asian food scene down south with more boba spots and places like Kpop bbq emerging. Let's be progressive and really open up palettes to foods beyond that of house fried rice or pho. Kpop is set up nicely, each seating section is separated with glass for safe eating environment (keep your coughs in your section! Or don't go out to eat publicly...) seating is really spacious and comfy, and the overhead vents are not too obtrusive to dining experiences. It's not loud and it clears the smoke well, unlike some other places I've visited before. Televisions surround the entire restaurant playing upbeat Kpop music. The bar area is very nice too and clean. For the food, you have your typical freebies, I enjoyed the steam egg and the Korean fried nuggets. They have an unlimited lunch and dinner menu with dinner offering additional items such as shrimp, calamari, and steak. There's a variety of marinated meats so either way, you can't do wrong. Hi everyone! Not sure what happened this time around but service/food was much worse than my last review. We came out here for a date night and I kinda wish we didn't because we traveled so far for mediocre dinner service. We had no problem waiting an hour for a table- however when it came time for the host to call out our name she didn't... and our table was given away. Host seems like she doesn't know what she's doing, she calls the name of people that come after you while people who were here before you are still waiting for a table (all parties were waiting at the bar for their tables). Everyone was confused. Food: The meat is good don't get me wrong... but everything else.... Every other appetizer would come cold. Korean fried chicken ? Cold, corn dish ? Cold. As a restaurant this is really unacceptable, there's no reason for food to be cold when you have the proper heating elements. My waiter gave me the wrong meat unfortunately so to make sure this doesn't happen to you pay attention. Best part was the bulgogi beef which you cook in front of you, if you get any meat get this. We come out to spend money on good food, I work like most people for their money so when I spend my money on things like this I think about all of the time and money I have wasted on this bad experience. Very sad because I love Korean food but this was not a good example of good Korean bbq. I don't even know where to begin! First let me say this, we were disappointed to see a sign that says "we're out of kalbi short ribs". Me and my little sister was so sad BUT there is always other cuts of meats! That's the best part of KBBQ. When we walked in, the Interior blew us away already. Everything seemed new and clean. During COVID, it definitely makes you feel at ease dining out. Each table were separated by plastic glass shields. Me and my little sister arrived once they were opened. We checked in and was told to wait 5 minutes for the servers to set up our table. 5 minutes went by and we were walked to our tables. Upon arrival, me and my little was like "damn!" This set up is legit. The sides were amazing. My favorite was the macaroni salad! It was so good! They even provide wet clothes to wipe down the grill so we don't constantly replace it. This was a GREAT IDEA because changing it back and forth causes idle time for the grill to heat up. We tried pretty much everything! The corn cheese was amazing. The Korean fried chicken was fried perfectly. I love the fact they served thin sliced scallions so you can include it in your lettuce wrap. Both beef and pork brisket is always a must. It's always my go to first. Because it cooks the fastest ! Then the Beef Bulgogi, I must say it's probably the best I ever had. The owner was nice enough to go around and check up on her customers. I believe her name was Jae. She was super nice and super chill! I love it when owners pay attention to their customers. That just means they're about their business! Kudos to her. Confession - I was just in town to visit my grandmother . I went to KPOP BBQ TWICE. TWICE. Haha me and my sister loved it! Overall, Jae have numerous locations where you can try her lovely restaurants. I must add this in too. We went Saturday Morning and we had the best waitress. She was VERY attentive to us. All you can eat Korean BBQ close to I-75, sweet! Hit some heavier traffic in Atlanta and was getting quite hungry. They have some k pop art paintings all over the place. The ladies at the front table took down our name and our phone, we had to scan for our temp and use sanitizer as well. There's a disclaimer absolving blame if anyone is injured or contracts Covid. They called after about 14 minutes. Destiny is waiting on us. Everyone is on a headset here. Started with the rice cake and spicy korean fried chicken. Ordered two orders of the spicy kitchen. You can only order one protein per person at a time. The sauces are spicy, spicy and sweet and an in house teriyaki sauce. It's all you can eat proteins, rice, apps and banchans too. Whoa. The tteokbokki is okay, they are pan fried, slightly crispy and chewy, gochujang sauce on it is too syrupy for me. The spicy chicken are more like chicken bites, sauce is not spicy, more like a Thai sweet chili sauce. The canned corn and cheese is bland and not special. The corn is devoid of sweetness. Some honey would make it nicer and sweet corn instead of the basic corn used too. The salad dressing is much too sweet for me, a ginger sauce would make it better. The onion salad is at least good. We asked for a bit to finish the cooked chicken before getting a second round and now our waitress hasn't noticed us looking around and wanting more protein at all. The best part of the meal has been the spicy chicken on the grill and the onion salad. Not bother filling up on the apps, they are just fillers and not great executions here. Destiny is friendly, but we did have to wait between our chicken orders and I have had to ask for more banchans and hot sauce twice. The grill scissors work like a champ here, they are made by Samduk Queen Star. I feel like you need to eat 3 rounds or more of the protein to feel like you got your money's worth since the apps are so-so as are most of the banchans. It's like a Brazilian restaurant. I never received the additional onion salad and was asked if we wanted to go ahead and cash out. $55.62. You pay at the table. You get a complimentary ice cream for your $55.62 meal for two. I asked for a receipt and had to ask for it again when we were able to finally flag someone else down 8 minutes later. The place is like a factory. They try to get you in and out quickly for the next patrons. They need the time to set up your table with sauced and banchans for you at the table when you arrive. Their bathrooms need a bit of housekeeping. Staff handed me TP as I entered. Concept is and idea is quite good, execution of banchans and apps need some work, along with the service too. read more

OMG so good!!! There was a 30 minute wait for a table so we hit the bar first and I had a Michelob ultra on draft and my daughter Reagan had a lychee martini. Amanda was a great bartender, and made the martini the best one that I have ever tasted! Within, moved over to our table where Leah introduced herself and brought us all of our sides and took our order we had steak bulgogi, Hawaiian pork, belly, short, ribs, K-pop, steak, spicy chicken, and teriyaki chicken. KPOP - McDonough you should be embarrassed. Your management team is pure trash and I don't even think that they know what customer service is. It was one of the most horrible experiences ever. We made a reservation over a month ago for 10 people to have one of the rooms upon arrival they had given us two tables, and we would've had to scream across at each other. When we spoke with a manager, Jay and the lady manager, they were very rude and unprofessional.. the lady manager came over first never once did she make iContact with us. She was too busy and focused on her paperwork to even look at us or to really seriously try to help us and address our issues immediately followed by coming over, and both of their attitudes were it is what it is they never once tried or attempted to accommodate us. Upon my sister, walking away, the manager Jay made the statement she has an attitude and I'm not dealing with it tonight. It turns out that Jay's son Jaylin was our waiter for the evening. And he was just as bad as his dad and the lady manager. This restaurant should be shut down from the management team alone. I have never experienced anything so bad in my life, however, I learned a very valuable lesson , and that is not to argue with someone under my tax bracket. I was asked to leave I did just that never to return to that restaurant. There is bigger and better restaurant that I can frequent. That will deserve my money and my time and energy. Be careful KPop who you employ, because they could truly ruin your business. I should've known something when security was standing at the door. I enjoy a great Korean bbq moment but unfortunately I can say Ive had better. This place wasn't horrible by any means but it didn't really hit the spot. The bathroom was clean, and so were the tables. My friend had an alcoholic beverage, which she didn't really enjoy. Our wait time was about 15-20 minutes, really short. We were assisted as soon as we sat down. The service was great & the atmosphere was cool but it didn't feel authentic. I love the sides that come with Korean bbq or hot pot so that was a plus. However some of the food lacked flavor, especially the ramen. The meats were great, and our waiter did help us cook some of them. I dont know if I will be back but if I am not feeling like making the drive to Atlanta, this would definitely be an alternative. read more

Finally able to try KPop today (12/12/22) and we were not disappointed. Although the portion sizes for the side dishes look tiny it is not. Once you add white rice and the meat you will have a complete meal. Be aware that the all you can eat lunch ($20) options are limited to just the chicken terriyaki, beef bulgogi, lemon pepper chicken and the spicy beef bulgogi.....no steak or seafood included. For the dinner all you can eat ($35 per person) seafood and steak are included. Had an excellent server who kept the appetizers, meats and drink refills coming. Will definitely return. read more

Really great place for some delicious local Korean BBQ, it's not a cheap place to eat but when you consider all the things included with all you can eat it's totally worth it. The selection of meats and sides is huge compared to many similar places and the service is top notch, if you need any help or have any questions they are super friendly and don't mind showing you how everything works.
