Here for a comedy show. Nice historic venue, bright, clean, and spacious. Great service - friendly and fast. Small menu, what we tried was decent Very uncomfortable wobbly wooden folding chairs. Amazing!!! My family and I are regulars! Never had a bad experience. We love everything about this place except that it is difficult to get a reservation because they are so busy. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Great for any occasion. The decor is beautiful, there's so much space, doesn't feel cramped and they have large tables for my family of 5-7 plus my service dog. The staff is so friendly and professional. My kids know a few of them by name. The food is delicious. So much to choose from. My kids love the prime rib and all the desserts. The drinks are pretty tasty. Best espresso martini I've ever had! Love this place! Highly recommend. read more

We had the opportunity to attend the soft opening of the The Venue by Brix27 all you can eat brunch! I'm so excited to see a new brunch option in Martinsburg. First of all, this venue is absolutely stunning . We started out with a mimosa and Bloody Mary, both of which were a hit . I'm not sure what coffee they use, but the self service coffee station was also really good. Regarding the food, the word that comes to my mind first is quality. From the fresh fruit to a prime rib carving station, every dish that we tried was well prepared and high quality. Our favorite dish were the shrimp shooters; the shrimp was seasoned well and ready to eat! Other highlights for us included the sausage gravy, bacon , salad station, and desserts . Our server asked us what we did and didn't like, so we did have the chance to provide some feedback. (Just a few small kinks that I'm sure they'll be able to work out.) Overall, you can't beat this for $35 per person, though. read more

The setting is very nice. The brunch options available were mostly of good quality, however they advertise an omelette/pancake bar, shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad. None of this was available. Service was good-natured, but chaotic. There was confusion over where to seat us and our drink order. The desserts looked very unappetizing: dried out. We did have a good time. The salmon and beef was very good, as were the drinks even though I did not get what I ordered. I am a huge fan of Brix, and I am hopeful this place will do better. I plan to try again. read more

Wonderful and much needed concept for the 'Burg!!! Great and welcoming ambience!!! Lots of detail in the decor of the place (ex. nice chandeliers, up lighting, lovely table decor, etc.). Friendly staff- special shout out to the host and the young waiter whom helped hang our coats and took our pic:-). Good buffet selection for Valentine's dinner. Everything was wonderful- mashed potatoes a bit salty, but overall not bad. The DJ was awesome! 5 stars for him!!! Will definitely return to try brunch! read more

We went there for their second brunch after they opened. The staff were pleasant but not organized; that should improve as time goes on. The room was large but didn't offer any cozy areas for an intimate meal. It was just large and impersonal with tables close to each other. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about the food. Same old Danish selections that you would see anywhere, nothing was freshly baked. Pastries, muffins, breads were served in aluminum containers lined with newspaper like papers. This was done decades ago so nothing new, fresh or enticing about the small plate tables. The hot food wasn't hot! The food was being heated by sterno containers whereas all hot foods should have been setup on standard steam tables. We were there at 11:30am and things should have been fresh. Instead, the food selections were drying out by the sterno heating elements. Egg bites were dried out, the bacon was warm and limp and even the carving station beef was barely warm. The au jus on the side? .... not even warm. Save yourself a ton of money for an overpriced experience. We would not go back. read more

We've eaten at Brix27 and had so many great meals there, that it seemed like a great idea to go to The Venue by Brix27. My adult kids were in town, so I thought I'd treat them to brunch. From the time we walked in, the service was sub par. We were escorted to our table, just to stand there awkwardly while they started to clear dirty dishes off of it. There were plenty of clean tables, so this was baffling. Then we sat. We hadn't been there before, so not sure whether there was just the buffet or if there were items you could order, so we waited for our server. No water, no acknowledgement, nothing for more than ten minutes. At which point a server came to our table, whispered her name and filled up our water. As she went to walk off, we asked if we just were supposed to get our food. She said yes. I asked if there was a station for coffee and drinks. She indicated that there was an alcohol drinks menu on the table and did we want anything. We ordered coffee and orange juice. She said she would be right back and we headed to the buffet. I've had many hotel breakfast buffet meals better than this. It isn't that the food was bad, it was that the food was meh. There was nothing there that was great, or that I couldn't make for myself at home. We went to the waffle station - the waffles were precooked in one of the warming dishes. So they were not hot and crispy, they were warm but soggy. I didn't make use of the omelet station, so I can't speak to that. The carved beef was okay, but there was no au jus or horseradish or mustard. Nothing - just bland beef. I was disappointed that *so many* of the items listed on their website for the brunch menu were not on offer. There are pictures on their website of the buffet and I can assure you that the buffet we went to looked nothing like that. Their pictures show a luscious spread, beautifully presented, glorious and bursting at the seams with choices. The buffet we paid for was very limited in choices, and was definitely not presented in the beautiful plates and chafing dishes from the photos. Even the desserts table photo on the web made me laugh when I compared it to the few inelegant offerings on display. It shows tables of cakes and cheesecakes and beautiful desserts. There were ZERO slices of cake, ZERO cheesecake offerings, and everything they had to offer took up one half of one table, not like they show on their webpage. Shame on them. Our server was basically absent, only came by two more times while we were there and I had to flag her down to pay the bill. When I got the bill, I was shocked to see that we were charged for each coffee and orange juice. I have never been to a high end buffet where the nonalcoholic drinks were not included in the price. The total for three buffets, two coffees, and one orange juice was over $150. It was probably the worst restaurant expenditure for me ever. I was embarrassed that I had taken my kids there instead of just making them a nice brunch at home. read more

Food was excellent! The wait staff was great! Overall just great experience and atmosphere.

We have gone for two consecutive Sundays in a row, 11am last week and 1215pm this week. The difference between both days was HUGE and we won't be going again until there's consistency with food options. It's way overpriced for what was offered. There is no omelette or waffle station as advertised. No overnight oats. They had some sort of beef but I don't know if it was prime rib. The fruit tray was decimated by 1230 this Sunday and they didn't replenish it. We had to wait 40 minutes for more bacon to be brought out, which is all my son was looking forward to since I told him it was good. They didn't replenish the cream cheese even though there were plenty of bagels out on trays. Only good thing I can say is the wait staff is very nice and they work hard. I feel bad that the back of the house isn't pulling the weight. Really disappointing brunch, not worth it. read more

This was an enormous disappointment today. The room is lovely and would be great for private parties. It was only about 1/3 full at 10:30AM and you could not hear the person across the table. The food selection was NOTHING I anticipated. No fruit trays...a bowl of picked over fruit. No yogurt or lighter options beyond limp steamed veggies. Sausage link was nasty...about 3 slices of undercooked bacon in the container. The potatoes were really disgusting. Not sure about the egg rounds--strange texture--almost power-like. The desserts were not even appetizing looking so we didn't bother trying. Collectively, 2 of us did not consume $5 worth of food at the cost of $78. Brix27 across the street was amazing months ago, but this was a real fail for me, especially after an hour-long drive. We paid and went to a local coffee shop. read more
