My first time in a waffle House and my kids too. We all sat up at the high bar. Amanda was super friendly and very personable. I don't like usually talking while I'm eating but I enjoyed talking to her off and on and her attention to making sure we all had what we needed. She even gave us little Waffle House hats! The cook, Floyd (I think that was his name-sorry if I'm wrong) was handling business making the meals. He was hustling and doing a great job. While the differences in the shifts are profound, the morning shift has a well-oiled machine of service. The overnight shift is in a word: 'TRASH' DON'T waste your time going to this Waffle House before 7 am! The overnight team has the music so loud that I have to YELL at the server for my order when I am the only customer in the restaurant. Despite my being the only one here, my food order was still wrong. I was served coffee that was CLEARLY OLD - with how bitter it was. I had to ask for my food to be remade. This is not what I have come to expect from the Waffle House Brand. IDK why writing down an order instead of trying ot hold it in your memory is so hard... if you can't recall the full order of a single person without asking the customer to repeat it twice, then still getting it wrong should be a sign. Popped in for brunch and ordered (2) of eggs, potato's, bacon, biscuit. The potatoes were fried so much they were burned to a dark hard, uneatable brown crisp all around the edges and you could only eat the middle. That is, if you wanted to keep your teeth intact. , so it was not eaten. The biscuit was just slightly touched on the grille, not even toasted. The bacon was burned to a crisp and very dark. The coffee tastes like burned coffee grounds even tho' she said she just made it. Maybe if they tried washing their pot out! Never again, ever! All that for only 28 bucks. read more

I had some time to kill before the rental car place opened , so I figured id get some breakfast , ordered sirloin steak , scrambled eggs , hash browns ,toast ,coffee ,and a side of bacon steak first , dont know what their definition of steak is but it was horrendous , hard to cut and the first bite was all gristle , had to spit it out , cut a piece off the other side same story , couldn't eat it , didnt get a single bite down scrambled eggs , the cook took it upon his self to chop my scrambled eggs into tiny pieces as if I was a 1 year old and feared I would choke on it , other than that what I was able to manage to get to my mouth tasted ok , it would have served me better to eat them with a spoon .thats how bad he chopped them up hash browns were undercooked almost raw in the middle and fast fried on the top and bottom as if he pressed on the grill to cook faster , tasted horrible ,ate what I could and then gave up toast was fine , coffee was fine ordered a side of bacon which cost $3.00 , received 3 slices that were so thin you could see through them , they were all straight , flat as a board ,and each were identical to the next like they were processed precooked faken bacon , now I dont mind the 3 bucks if it was real bacon ,and for a dollar a piece it better be thick , it was neither I decided to tip any way because it was not the waitress's fault , she was kind and attentive , I generally am a very generous tipper but I decided a $3 was pretty generous for a $15 breakfast for the most part was inedible , usually for a good $15 dollar meal the tip would have been about $8 for good service and good food I do not return food for food that is unacceptable because the only thing worse than what you are returning is food with snot mixed in , I elect to never walk through the doors again is how I handle these situations the cook was sitting in a booth when I walked in playing a bird game on his phone , and looked ,and acted like it was a imposition to have to get up and cook my food , I was the only patron in there , he was in a hurry to get back to his game which I can only surmise is the partly the reason for the horrible food such as the hash browns , the rest of the reason is the poor quality food they choose to purchase to prepare read more

Ok, sooooo. I never grew up with anything like a Waffle house and I am actually a fan. I mean, its not gourmet but they are open 24 hours a day and serve breakfast and dinner items and are super cheap. Two of us at for about $13 and it was a lot of food. I got a biscuit with sausage gravy which satisfied my southern craving. The gravy was super thick though, like pudding, but it tasted good. I also survived the chili and the 200 packs of crackers that accompanied. It was pretty good! The hash browns are also good, pretty standard. I got water..I mean, I should know better but the water was...well pass it up if you can. So horrible! The waffles are flattened like frisbees (somehow). I ordered hashbrowns with cheese and they were undercooked potato shreds with a slice of UNMELTED Kraft cheese resting on top. I ordered some orange juice which was actually spoiled. I drank a sip and smelled it and then told the waitress, who smelled it, and she was like "omg we need to throw that away". First time visit for my wife and it could have went a lot better. Food looked great but our waffles set on counter awaiting the rest of our meals. By the tim it had been brought to our table in 3 different shifts it was all cold! In addition my wife had to ask 3 times for her coffee. When we asked if the air conditioning would be shutting down anytime soon as we were all wearing jackets because of the sub zero temps our waitress chuckled and said yeah IF they turn it down. I have been going to the Waffle house for over 25 years. I have watched it go down hill. The food is warm when you get it, and soon gets cold because the air is to cold. we have to wear our coats and the food gets cold half way thru the meal. You have to ask the manager to please turn up the heat. By the time it come on it is to late to do any thing. You can keep your ice box,as I am going else where to buy my food. I took my daughter out to eat, ordered tbone steak with hashbrowns with cheese, the waitress had our table ONLY and yet brought our salads less than a minute before our meals because she was busy talking to the other employees (we'll get into that later) My hashbrowns had no cheese I asked the waitress if she could fix it she gave it to the cook he laid 1 slice of cheese on top and yelled "order up" and she brought it back!! The worst thing was the waitress behind the counter talking about the "Choir Nerds" in her school my little girl who was with me is in choir in her school! Also the cook behind the counter was complaining about his hours saying quote "I don't give a F*** what hours she gives me" all of which was said at a loud enough volume for my child to hear...this sorta thing happens I know but this USED TO BE a place where you could bring your FAMILY instead it's turned into a dump. When family visits from out of town we always ate there NEVER AGAIN. When we would eat out with in-laws and friends we would eat there NEVER AGAIN! My Dad and I were regulars at this place for quite awhile. Very tasty breakfast food and cheap too. One of the things I noticed though was that every single time I ate there, when I got home I always ended up sitting on the toilet and exploding, LOL. Diarrhea! I even mentioned to one of the cooks one time how eating there was like taking a laxative. He told me that the buttery oil they use on the hashbrowns, when they cook, has warnings on the bottle that it can have a laxative effect. My Dad and I now call the place "Laxative House" because that is the effect their food has after you eat it. Aside from this, my only complaint is that the place is open 24/7, and I wonder how often do they clean the wooden cutting board counter in front of the grill that they cut sandwiches on. Because of one too many instances where I developed stomach aches after eating there, we no longer eat there anymore. My advice: If you're constipated and really need to "go", eat at this joint and I can almost guarantee it'll clean you out.
