This was the third time to eat here. We bragged on it after the first two times, that were very good. This time was awful for so many reasons. We waited for over an hour for our food, they were out of several things, they replaced items without asking, if we wanted them, charged $7 for the smallest side salad ever seen, the cornbread and the Texas toast was dry, the entrees had very little actually meat, on and on. When our son and his family come up to visit they often stay at thecopperheadlodge. They get a cabin with a large porch which makes for an enjoyable & relaxing visit after we have supper across the creek at The Flying Trout. Great location between Blairsville and Blue Ridge, near the Appalachian Trail, and a nice drive over to the scenic Blueridge Pkwy and Cherohala Skyway. read more

This is a rare gem of a find. I'm here in January. It's the off season so the rates are low for just an amazing 2 BR 2Bath place with a hot tub, grill, outdoor TV, cornhole boards. The grounds are very walkable and gorgeous. The winter really opens up the woods and a nice creek runs through the property. These cabins are 5 star built and decorated. Really good woodwork craftsmanship in this one (Cabin #21). I have a white lab and they are pet friendly in some cabins. This pet friendly cabin has a gate on the front porch and a fenced in backyard with a beautiful field behind it. I could live here a month a year. The restaurant was excellent. Fireplace, live acoustic music (a country singer not only played Purple Rain but played it very well), friendly, prompt service (waitress came over and put more firewood in the fireplace beside my table) 10/10 great food, very clean, including the spotless restaurant restrooms. I've been to a few lodges that cost an arm and a leg but none were good as this. read more

My husband and I got rained out of our camping trip and the owner Denise was SO kind and generous! She got us in way before checkin time and remembered us during our stay. The whole staff is kind and welcoming, like family. We stayed in the hotel under the restaurant and it was so beautiful! The room is adorable decorated and everything is clean and well thought out, down to homemade soaps and a complete coffee bar. We will be back and highly recommended staying here!! read more

This is a beautiful Park Model Cabin community in Blairsville. Read that it was developed by bikers and our cabin had amazing artwork in that theme. Very disappointed that amenities are advertised and not open. The pool and restaurant are not open. The pool water was green, obviously not open for some rime. read more

This was not the experience we had hoped for and it was not an experience we envisioned when making plans to travel to the Blairsville area. We had for the Copperhead Lodge reservations from April 28 to May 4th. Arrived after a 4-hour ride with our Motorcycles at Sunday April 28th at 14:00 at the Lodge. The doors of the Lodge closed and all looks very abandoned. Thinking we are arrived to early for check-in we called the number at the door as well the phone numbers published on the web side and on Facebook and leave message that we arrived and would like to check in. After waiting 2-hours wait no callback, we struggled to find now a different place to stay for the next week. We ended up to ride another 3- hours up to North Carolina to find another place taking us for another week. Still after one week of leaving several voice messages on different phone numbers we still have no callback and apology received. we still have not received at the end we transferred up the Bryson City to a lovely different Lodge right in downtown. Beside the poor experience not been able to stay at the lodge and the very poor management in control it showed also that there is a lack of proud ownership at the place. Everything looked not well cared for and so at the end we believe that even if we would have been able to get a room it would not had been as nicer a stay as the Restaurant of the Lodge itself seems as well to be closed. This place is only an option if you attending a large event when they open the Lodge and clean everything up. In the current state not a place to recommend for individual travelers As a fellow Motorcycle rider our recommendation is to stay away from this place. Better place to stay is to go the Iron Horse Lodge close to Robbinsville or any of the nice Hotels in Bryson City or Waynesville. read more

Our family stayed here in the lodge (downstairs room) for one night too LONG! Me, my wife and two children (9yrs, and 7years). So many of the most important necessities needed for our stay was a disaster, it is easier for me to just list them with pictures. We will never return to this DUMP again. 1. All of the so called towels provided and neatly stacked in the bathroom had dirty grease marks or a huge fist sized hole in them!. (we had to skip our shower because no one was available upstairs, the light was off and check-in desk was empty). 2. The phone in our room did not connect to the front desk! No ring-ring or anything!. 3. The walls just outside the shower had visible water damage and mold on both sides! Nasty. 4. The web site we booked our reservation from for Crappyhead Lodge NEVER informed us that we were expected to take out our own trash in the morning or face extra charges!!!! Seriously....this place provided me with a flyer informing me "extra charges" would be billed if the trash was not bagged and set at the end of the driveway (just outside). Wow, did they want me to clean my own room also???. This place is a total joke. 5. From 4pm until 10 pm, the live music located upstairs was so loud that our family dare NOT try to sleep until it stopped at 10pm nom matter how tired we were and wanted to just rest. The sound from the base from the band constantly vibrated throughout our room. Beware if you book a lodge room, it is inescapable. 6.Wife and I walked upstairs to dine. Was informed a large party just got seated outside and we will need to wait 45 minutes before we could be seated (despite the fact we could see almost no tables in the dining room). We sat at bar, ordered immediately. Appetizer of Fried Calamari arrived undercooked / rubbery to taste, under breaded. looked like white rings. What bothered me most about this place was the bait and switch deception before and after we booked a room. NEVER was any indication provided that we were required to take out our own small amount of room trash or be penalized via additional room charges. They capture your credit card after you arrive, so your basically stuck at that point. BEWARE, call and confirm my point well before you book a room here!!! This place does NOT have customer service at the front of their concerns....it's getting your MONEY!. read more

Used to love when they had karaoke. But I like it's close. Great food. Plenty of room for parties.

When we dined here on September 25, the location and menu calls this the Flying Trout. The one star review is due to the kitchen staff not concerning themselves with a dairy allergy (not a dairy intolerance, a full on allergy), that would put someone in a hospital (at minimum). We notified our server, Candace, of boyfriend's dairy allergy and she was happy to help and work with us. She checked if the kitchen had any dairy free appetizers, to which the "chef" said the smoked trout dip was safe. Ok let's think about this... 99% of dips have cream cheese, sour cream, or cheese, NONE of which are dairy free. We asked her to verify, to which the "chef" said, no, it's not safe. This should have been our first red flag. The "chef" said he could make the fish sandwich dairy free by not soaking the fish filet in buttermilk. Sounds great! When we ordered, Candace typed out a note reminding the kitchen of a dairy allergy. However when it was served, the top and bottom buns had butter on them and nice the butter had touched the fish filet, the entire sandwich was inedible. BUTTER. Also dairy. The "chef" blamed the prep guy for buttering the bun (definitely not a chef, I'll give him the tile of cook at best) offered to remake the sandwich and not butter the bun honestly our trust was lost. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the filet was soaked in buttermilk. The only redeeming qualities from this experience was our server, Candace, the drinks, and my entree (the fish and frites). Candace was very friendly, attentive, and apologetic towards the kitchen's lack of attention, care or concern for the health of dining patrons. read more

Struck gold this weekend in the Georgia mountains! The Flying Trout is a restaurant located on the grounds of the Copperhead lodge, and should be on your must-try list. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating for small and large party's of all sizes. The outdoor seating is a covered wrap around deck with a fireplace and view of a babbling mountain creek. Inside, diners can find casual bar seating as well as a quaint table dining area with an inviting fireplace. We elected to order the truffle chips as an appetizer to start. The chips were homemade kettle cooked style potato chips that were complimented with a mushroom and garlic truffle sauce with scallions. For dinner our group had a hodgepodge or different entrees including the trout, the sage chicken, and my personal favorite the chicken and waffles! The chicken and waffles is a double stacked waffle and fried chicken breast accompanied by sweet potato tater tots and a spicy breakfast sausage to top it off. The meal can easily be shared by two people and will have diners staring in envy. Every plate was a quality dish with a portion large enough to satisfy even the hungriest appetite. We came here for the All American Biker event and it was great. Our cabin was right across the street from the event. The cabin we stayed in had a queen bed, futon couch, and a bunk bed, which was more than enough room for 3 adults and 2 kids. Our cabin had a beautiful screened in back porch and a hot tub. The lodge has a salt water pool, which the kids loved. There was plenty of grass for the kids and two dogs to run around. read more

Have been here several times. The large outdoor seating is great and beautiful location. They have live music most weekends. Wish they had a better wine offering but its pretty typical of this area. The food is great except for the shrimp and grits it has a red creole sauce which I didn't care for. Would love to try again with a different sauce if they can do that. Only real thing is food comes out really fast, a bit to fast sometimes. Overall give it a try. We go often. read more

This place sucks and they know it, I almost completely lost my shit Tonight at the restaurant we went to our name drop them again but until I write my review I'm not going to name drop them right yet, absolutely horrible $143 plus a $30 tip that got us two oysters on the half shell, two frozen and cold lobster ravioli which didn't really have any lobster I could taste in it so I let that slide, I was like okay, then two bowls of so called French onion soup Beth Shadden Perry said she liked hers but in actuality it was chock full of fat and tasted like dirty sink water and I'm not even joking so around this time the $120 for the both of us starts floating around in my head thinking oh my God we're being ripped off, so then the f****** s***** steak came out a measly little 12 oz. steak but here's the kicker two pieces of asparagus I'm thinking about that $120 again and a side of mashed potatoes probably instant that is . The steak also was lumped with imitation crab meat and no bearnaise sauce I'm really doing a good job with not lashing out at somebody at this point and my review of this place is going to be great, needless to say we spent like I said $143 plus a 33-dollar tip and $20 on a measly Irish whiskey and a glass of wine it's so sad that they would even let that kind of crap come from the kitchen to the table and of course I was talking loud to let the two other guests and serve as a warning know exactly how I felt and I wasn't trying to ruin it for them but I feel bad for everybody that these folks serve tonight because they are being completely ripped off .the Flying Trout Restaurant Will not upload my review of the restaurant This is a mild stab at it. read more

The lodge and cabins are okay, but the customer service is deplorable. If you have a problem of any kind, don't expect it to get fixed or even addressed before you leave. When you call the front desk no one will answer the phone, and when you leave a message you won't get a call back. Even if you have a real problem like NO hot water, you will just have to suffer the rest of your stay. read more

Blairsville, GA have random hidden restaurants in places that your GPS on your phone or car wouldn't be able to track for you. You would need someone who is not directionially impaired or geographically challenge for guidance. What really throws me off is this compass thing that tells you N, S, E, W... seriously... how the heck would i know that I need to go south when it could be any direction of "South" for me. I could be pointing down to the ground and that could be south. Anyways, we were able to find this spot since it's on the highway and there are signs everywhere. At first, I really thought we were going through a cabin subdivision... but as you go in further, there's a huge cabin overlooking the GA mountains. It was an awesome view. This is consider a lodge where they sell and rent out cabins in lots. So you can come eat and go buy a cabin - just because. We got there a little early so it was very very quiet - so quiet you could hear the dust falling from the ceiling. There are no background music so expect to hear your own echos even when you're whispering. I don't understand why a little radio plugged into the wall wasn't on their mind. But to each their own. There were about 6 tables and 6 booths that parallel eachother. An elder couple has already seated and sipping on their "BYOB" wine. Surprise? Sure I was, if I had known, we would have stop by the armish package store and pick up a bottle of moonshine or something. That was the only thing they left out from this Ad, was that they do not have their liquor license aquired yet. So you're allowed to bring your own bottle and supposedly, complimentary service at no charge. Disappointed because I was craving for a buzz really bad. I was feining, of all times... just for a sip of wine because this whole non civilization thing is hitting me. I'm a total city girl. Not that I can't adapt to new environment, but I need my supplements. However, the owner was a sweet little lady who came over to chit chat with us. She has a hard time hearing - bless her sweet heart. I had to scream aloud that I wanted a glass of WINE - really bad. So she went to the back and found a bottle of white wine and gave me a complimentary glass of it. That was the highlight of my night. I would have to say that I won't have grits for a very long time after this either. The wine has blurred my decision making so everything I ordered from the appetizers to the entrees and the sides... consisted of some damn grits. Battered, fried, smothered... you name it. The appetizers was the mixed combination of skewered shrimps wearing a jalapeno over its head and wrapped in bacon then baked; battered fried cheese grit balls; dried up chicken wangs and beer battered fried onions with a dipping sauce. Everything was really yummy, except the dried up chicken wangs. It was hard to get it off the bones and then chewed and swallowed. Hurts my esphogas thinking about it. the fried cheese grit balls were really yummy... so yummy i had it as a side to my entree... and in my entree... So I ordered the BBQed Shrimps and Grits 'Nawlins Style. The shrimps were really good but the bbq sauce was a little too heavy in taste and thickness. It was a bit more salty then I would like so I had to scraped most of the sauce off it. The grits were perfect. I also got a side of sweet potato fries. They were decently seasoned and fried. I do like the chunky cut in it so you can actually taste the sweet potato. The steak were kind of bland but it was cooked to a medium rare, just the way I like my steak. Bloody and juicy. It just needed a bit of salt to kick it up. The lemon green beans were very tasty. The texture still hold its crunchy texture with the fresh lemon to accentuate the flavor. It got a little busy after we got our food so no more echos, just lots of chit chatting and you could hear people's conversations. Somehow the wine blurred my decisions but my ears seems to be more keen. Wine are so unpredictable. Leaves me wondering... what it would be like with a shot of moonshine? I could be dancing on top of the cabin and howling at the moon... read more

This is a great Biker resort, cabins are awesome!!!!. I had a 1br with hot tub. Bed was comfortable after a days ride. The furnishings were top notch. Had Bar and restaurant to hang out in afterwards. Bands were good on friday and Saturday night. Owners were very personable lot of repeat customers here. We made new friends and had a blast. Already booking for a spring stay. Had prime rib on friday. Thier is a good selection of food on the menu especially on friday saturday night. The back deck had a grill. Grilled steak one night and pre made sides. I noticed some non bikers giving this place a low score. If your a biker you'll love this place. read more

We just got home from our first visit to Copperhead Lodge. Our first of what we plan on being many visits. Please allow me to begin with the good parts. We had a room with a king bed. The room was as clean as any hotel room in which I have stayed. We cannot remember the last time we stayed in a room with a ceiling fan. The mattress was terrific, absolutely great. The bathroom was big and offered spa-like amenities. We spent one afternoon doing nothing but sitting out relaxing on the patio, becoming one of the most relaxing afternoons we have had in a long time. The food was beyond all expectations. You will not find a better restaurant anywhere. The prime rib is world class. The bands that played Friday and Saturday nights were terrific and added another layer of fun to our time there. Every single employee of the lodge was friendly, professional, and helpful. The staff alone makes staffing at Copperhead a great place to stay. Finally, the riding in the area is the best in this country, in my opinion. Now, for the bad part. We could not stay longer. Copperhead Lodge is amazing. Michelle has built a world class lodge. Went with my newly adopted aunt, her friends and my mom to Copperhead thinking yeah great idea karaoke with some dinner & drinks. I'll keep this short, I didn't like the food, the price for so so quality is lame. Also for our salads, we were brought worchestor sauce instead of balsamic vinaigrette. The only good thing keeping this from a one star was the guy who did the karaoke. He was awesome. I think to get business better (aka MONEY) you need a hard core manager who knows how to handle a restaurant & a fake "resort". Never be back, fyi. read more

Three stars might be a stretch. The waiter brought the score up. They need to focus on quality control. I don't think the cook tastes anything he/she makes. The fries... No salt or seasoning and it tasted like there was something odd with the oil. The Aujus for the french dip, if I took out the brown, all I would have is iodized salt. The french dip had no real flavor. Just tasteless beef on a bun with a lot of grease dripping out. The turkey sandwich... How old is that turkey? From Thanksgiving? The baked potatoes, well not 80% baked, still hard in the middle. The wait time for food was extremely long. If the food were all fresh I could understand. The kitchen really dropped the ball. Went up for a weekend to get away from the big city. What a fabulous respite The Lodge is! Loved our cozy room (although looking forward to trying the cabins out next time), terrific food, friendly servers and fun bar filled with lively people out enjoying the countryside. There is a large swimming pool that we have yet to try, but loved all the big open spaces on the side lawn where concerts are held from time to time. We don't get to see a lot of stars in the night sky in the middle of Atlanta, but at The Lodge, there is a sea of stars lighting up the night. Love it! read more

Copperhead Lodge - Absolutely LOVE this place! You will not be disappointed. - New American Near Me - Blairsville, Georgia

This place is a yet to be discovered gem in the heart of Gods' country near Blue Ridge, GA. The concept and design is made to cater to the affluent motorcycle touring demographic that flock to the area for the beautiful mountain scenery and the perfectly maintained roads that wind through the oldest mountain range in the hemisphere. The resort is owned and managed by people with decades of experience catering to a similar market sector on the renowned costal beaches of the Destin-Fort Walton Beach-Pensacola Florida area that has become some of the most desired real-estate and resort areas of the continental United States. The owners have taken the same level of service, and transported it to the southern tip of the Appalachian mountains. The facility employs the "log cabin" style of the areas home and down sized the square footage of the cabins more suited to a few days, or weeks of mountain living, while maintaining the charm of the log cabin experience. If of course you consider central air conditioning and the occasional hot-tub roughing it! Several of the stand alone cabins include a mini-garage, perfectly suited to protect the high end touring motorcycles from the occasional mountain rain shower. The cabins are investor owned and are rented via the lodges rental program with one or two bedrooms. Our experience was reflective of the high quality furnishing and maintenance requirements of all the cabins. There are also rooms rented in the lodge which I found to be nicely appointed. The pool and hot-tub at the main Lodge were very nice, and a great place to meet, and socialize with other guests and cabin owners. I met people from Montana, New York, and several from Florida. The Florida owners bought to have a nice, quiet place from which to escape the crowds, and crime in Florida and we're looking to buy a permanent home in the area. The people we met at the pool and restaurant in the Lodge all shared places they had visited or dined in the area. It really fell as if we were all in our own little community, and the Southern hospitality and friendliness was evident everywhere we were. From the staff at the lodge, to all the hownthers of the myriad of shops in "downtown" Blue Ridge. The only people that seemed stressed were a few of the tourists that just didn't "get it". Oh I better mention that whIle the lodge was suited for the affluent, from the individual cabins to the amphitheater, to the delicious Prime Rib and "caught that day" Gulf seafood. It cost less to stay there with all the amenities than it did to stay at the Days Inn on our way there. I cannot wait to get back to the Lodge at Copperhead. read more

I love this place! The location is great. The people are friendly. and helpful, and accomodating. The food is yummy, the cocktails help me relax and forget the rest of the hectic world. It's not easy to find on the map, but follow the signs (or seek it out) and it's well worth a visit! Nearly every weekend there is SOMEthing going on (I see the events posted on Facebook and hate to miss out!). If you like quiet you can find that. If you like activity, you can find that too. If you want suggestions and directions for things to do and see in the area, the folks at The Lodge are more than happy to help. They truly care that you have a wonderful experience both at their establishment AND while visiting the area. The Lodge at Copperhead is my favorite mountain resort! I've visited a few times already, and I WILL be back! It's a great place to get away from it all, at a reasonable price, without boarding an airplane or needing your passport. Two thumbs-up! We were staying up in Robbinsville, NC at the Two Wheel Inn (see my review) and one of our group had mentioned this place the week before because it is situated near the beginning of The Gauntlet, another fantastic motorcycle road in NW Georgia. He contacted the owners about brunch and they invited us down to get an early brunch and a guided tour of part of the Gauntlet. The food was phenomenal! Beef tips in gravy, smoked fish Benedict, sausage gravy & biscuits and other dishes. The Lodge does cater to bikers, Michelle Evans (one of the owners) also rides her own (she was the guide...and man does she RIDE!), so you know if you pull in on a bike, you will be well taken care of. There's even covered bike parking right next to the front door. Oh, and your GPS will NOT find Copperhead Parkway...it doesn't exist. Use the coordinates instead. read more
