I was very disappointed with my meal at The View today. I ordered the open-faced steak sandwich medium-rare, but the steak came out well-done, tough, chewy, and lacking flavor. The mushrooms were barely cooked, and the sandwich was dry. I even requested au jus in an attempt to salvage it, but unfortunately that didn't help. To make matters worse, my side salad was initially forgotten. To the server's credit, she removed the sandwich from my bill and offered to bring me something else. However, by that point I had lost confidence in the meal and declined. I ultimately ended up eating only the side salad. While the service recovery was appreciated, the food itself was a major disappointment. In the end, the only thing I ate was the side salad, which cost $8 on its own. While I appreciate the server's efforts to make things right, the food quality and execution were far below expectations. I left hungry, disappointed, and unlikely to return. read more

Sat right away, ordered right away, waited 45 -50 minutes for our food, @the 30ish minute point they came and said they were out of our sons Mac and cheese. We ordered him chicken tenders instead. Waited another 20 minutes for all the food, they forgot the tenders, then the ONLY thing that came warm to the table was the tenders because they JUST cooked them. We tried to raise these issues with the manager who simply said there's no way we could have predicted the crowd when there really wasn't that much of one.... You're LITERALLY advertising Mother's Day specials! Oh yea and ITS MOTHERS DAY. All I can say is do better ! We will not return anytime soon but I hope the rest of your patrons have higher expectations.... Or maybe just stick to serving hot dogs hamburgers and golf....for the record asking your customers how to fix the problem is a cop out. Offer reasonable resolutions that you can actually deliver on and maybe, just maybe act like you give a crap that people who work hard for their money have decided to give your establishment a shot. I was craving spaghetti. Being diabetic, I know better, but I really wanted spaghetti! Called them up spoke with the young lady making sure she understood. The only way you can get spaghetti apparently was to have it with the chicken parmigiana. Thought that was odd, but a craving is a craving right? Went and grabbed it got it home and BOOM!!....definitely wasn't spaghetti. It was ZITI. Unbelievable and to top it off, it was OLD ziti, maybe from an event they had? Horrible. We stumbled upon this place, leaving 1911, wanted another drink before heading to our destination. The parking was easy and the lot was huge! The inside is very nice and big, we took sat at the bar because we were just having a drink and appetizer. They didn't have a drink menu, which I thought was odd. However, the bartender made us a delicious drink she said her version of Bay Breeze was a Sunset Pines, and we got two for $15. They were amazing!! We just went with the mozzarella sticks for $9 for our munchie and they were good. read more

We live close by to this restaurant. When we went there at dinner time we were the only customers there. Another couple came in as we. We're finishing our meal. The dining room is huge. Looks like a good place for a party, wedding, etc. The food was good. We had burgers and fries, but there are fancier meals on the menu. Staff was friendly including people at the bar. Important difference is that they are in Otisco where there are beautiful views, including "The View". read more

Stopped in Monday night with a party of 6, seated right away, hostess and waitress were great. Drink orders arrived quickly as did the appetizers. We all had something different for an entrée, no complaints from anyone, my club sandwich was huge and delicious. Bill for 6 was high, but we all had entree's, drinks, and appetizers so to be expected. Will definitely be back when in the area visiting family, thanks for the great meal. read more

Had to run an errand nearby so thought we'd stop for dinner. Greeted at the door by waitress who said we could seat ourselves wherever we wanted, so went to dining area window seat away from the bar. Got menus and took drink order right away. Both of us were looking for fish dinners, so ordered those, 1 with fries and slaw, other with cup of clam chowder and slaw. Was pleasantly surprised with the size of the "cup", I've had smaller bowls! The chowder was excellent, lots of clams, potatoes and hint of smokiness from either bacon or salt pork. Would definitely order the chowder again. Fish dinners came right after and there were fries on both plates, which we didn't expect, but had said something about sharing and apparently waitress asked kitchen to split them. Nice touch, and good service. Fish was very fresh haddock, crispy coating and quite tasty. Homemade tartar sauce and good coleslaw took it all the way. Can only imagine watching a sunset from this spot in summer, so we will be back. read more

We had our daughter's wedding here and it was a nightmare to say the least. Every single staff member was rude right down to the owners who yelled at us for looking at the "view" on the deck 2 weeks before the wedding. Great first impression. The event coordinator never came the day of the wedding. We were charged for the rehearsal dinner of 3 sheet pizzas 200 wings, salad, and soda, $1067 dollars. We ordered cheese & crackers for 100 people for cocktail hour and got only enough for about 25 and when asked if we could have more, were told nope that's it! Paid $375 for about $30 of cheese and crackers. We had 160 people which included 22 children of which we special ordered chicken fingers and hot dogs and french fries. None of these items were on the buffet. The children had no food. The wedding cake was never put out for the reception until asked for it by the mother of bride. The cake was for the bride & groom only as there was cupcakes and donuts for the guests and the servers served the cake to the guests. No coffee or tea per contract and the staff was clearing plates when people weren't done eating. Also, they did not make enough food. 2 tables at the end went up and asked If more food was coming out and was told nope it's gone. The staff was rude we received complaints from guests. The photographer reported hearing the staff talking negatively about the wedding and its guests. 15 minutes before the 4 hours were up the staff told the DJ you're done, wrap it up! Also, they started breaking down tables and chairs when guests were still sitting there. The worst part was after hours when the wedding party was singing around the camp fire, the bartender interrupted and rudely asked " whos paying for this wedding?" shoving a bill in the grooms face. The wedding was paid In full weeks before. The cabins were rented out to the family and friends for $250 a night and there were no towels or WiFi for the smart TVs. The list goes on. I expect better for the $15,000 we paid. When this was all addressed with the owners we were gaslighted and were not even given an apology. Disgusting. This should have been my daughters happiest day of her life. read more

Enjoy The View as a treat now and then. Will not go out to eat somewhere unless a restaurant is able to cook as good or better than I can at home. I usually get one of the steak or prime rib sandwiches, my son gets pasta, and hubby will get a burger or pulled pork. Have never had ANY issues with the food. Comes out nice and hot, and cooked properly. Menu could use a makeover. Waitresses could definitely use a bit of retraining as they are not attentive at all. Friendly enough but just not checking back quick enough or enough times. Even making eye contact from a distance counts as a check-in in my book. Have even had to go up to the bar for to-go boxes, extra napkins, or hot sauce. Beautiful view, beautiful building, and enjoyable atmosphere. Can't wait to go again! read more

Staff needs to do more to control obviously intoxicated patrons. Upon arrival, I observed a floor sign that stated to wait for waitress to seat. While standing waiting to be seated my grandson and I were harassed by an individual trying to be humorous with his friends, attempting to get us to seat ourselves without the direction of wait staff. A waitress asked us to wait, while this person continued to encourage us to find our own seats. Once seated, well away from the drunk, we again waited for an unusually long period to be greeted by our waitress. The food was average, just a step above ordinary bar food. My grandson ordered a burger, and when it arrived, the juices-grease was just pouring off the meat onto his plate. His bun was saturated to the point it fell apart after just a couple of bites. I ordered a sliced prime rib panini that was very good. The meal, with drinks for two was a little pricey at over fifty dollars, for a golf course restaurant. I mentioned the encounter with other patrons while waiting to be seated to our waitress, who in turn acknowledged that he is a regular, who routinely acts in this manner. We were once again the subject of this persons attention while leaving the establishment, tried to ignore him, but had to listen to his remarks as we were walking to the parking lot. I'll be sure to avoid this establishment in the future. read more

my family and I arrived at 5:45 and didn't leave until 8. our waitress was pretty slow with getting our drinks, and didn't bring our food out all together. 4 out of the 7 people got their food first. others who didn't get their food had to get there food in a box to take home. waitresses and managers didn't really to seem to care when we complained about there problems. they was extremely understaffed, only had two waitresses with a full restaurant. we watched 2 others family's leave because no one even took their order. i've been to this restaurant before and never experienced this. although the experience was hectic, we did get to experience a beautiful sunset read more

The environment was great. The outdoor patio was clean and inviting. The menu and bill stated we were getting Pepsi but in reality we received a cheap off brand cola. Our steamed clam appetizer was delicious and the timing between enjoying them and being served our lunch was perfect. The steak quesadilla was hot but tasted like a boxed steakEm. The sour cream and salsa tasted cheap and watery. I was unable to cut my quesadilla without being able to get a piece of wax paper in my food. (Should have been served on an actual plate) The Ceaser salad was good but filled with wilted lettuce that should have been noticed by kitchen staff and not served.
