It was a beautiful day and Heritage Hill seemed like a nice place to go since we were already nearby. It wasn't busy so we went to place our order at the counter near the bar. You leave your phone number and they text you when the food is ready. My friend got us a table in the outside seating area which was enclosed but had a beautiful view. I waited at the bar for our drinks and then we talked while we waited for our food. The person who took our order was very nice, but the food took about 40 minutes. There were maybe 12 people, and some of them were already eating. Decorated for Christmas without excess the atmosphere was relaxing with a good view of the kitchen from all areas. Wait staff work quickly and all work together to ensure a good guest experience. We both ordered the brisket platter with pickle seasoned fries (extra yum here came with ranch would only be better if they made their own) and smoked Mac n cheese. The brisket was fork tender good smoke ring and perfectly smokey without overpowering the flavor of the meat or the Mac n cheese. The corn bread was moist and flavorful. We ordered the Pompey Poutine as a starter, a twist on a traditional poutine, and it was delicious- plenty of food for two people to split. I ordered the avocado toast and my husband ordered the breakfast quesadilla for our meals. My husband's quesadilla was good, but he felt it may have been better with more seasoning or a sauce. Unfortunately, they were out of the avocado toast. By the time they let me know, we had already had our poutine for a while, so I chose not to order anything else since the poutine was filling enough. They were kind enough to bring me free toast and jam and to take a beer off our bill for the inconvenience (I had the frozen oranges which was very good). Overall, I'd like to come back to experience all that Heritage Hill has to offer on a warmer day. Based on my experience, I won't get my heart set on any one menu item as they may be out. Two dollars more. 19 bucks for a cheese burger is highway robbery as far as I'm concerned. My date had pickle fries and cauliflower wings. She liked both of them but I found them to be middle of the road. I had a cheese steak that was the special of the night. It was...fine? Didn't taste like much of anything and definitely could've used more peppers and onions. Some very strange SU lacrosse radio show was occuring in the restaurant while we were having dinner and that added a certain ambience that I had never experienced. It was also the owner's son's birthday and the whole restaurant sang to them so that was something. I've been here a few times and never have come away as anything other than disappointed. Beer is mediocre, food is too expensive for what it is, and the service wasn't great either. Oh and there were kids running around the restaurant-cool vibes for a brewpub. I love the ambiance here and have been here a few times with friends and family and have always enjoyed the food and drinks. Our last visit, however, was so fantastic that it deserves 5 stars and more! We were there with another couple to drop our kids off at a private event in the big barn, and OMG- what a fantastic space for a private event! I could totally picture a wedding or bridal/baby shower there. They also had one of the smaller enclosed outdoor spaces set up for a private party the next day, and it was so cute and the perfect place for a small, private celebration! We proceeded to enjoy dinner in the main dining area and we were enthusiastically greeted by our server, Kelly, who has such a sunny and funny disposition. We ordered burgers, a 2-meat platter, and I had the rack of ribs with sides. The ribs were perfectly tender and fell right off the bone, and their Mac n cheese is so creamy and pure deliciousness! The others in our party also really enjoyed their food. Kelly was the highlight of our evening though- her spunk and attentiveness made the night so enjoyable! Heritage Hill seems like it is far away from Syracuse, but it is actually a short, beautiful drive. From the farm, you have a wonderful view looking downhill towards Jamesville reservoir. I bet that on a clear day you can see quite far. Heritage Hill has a large dining area with outdoor seating under cover, and picnic tables under the sky. There is lots of space! Given the location and outdoor seating, I get this is an awesome spot on a hot day. That might be a good time to visit again. Heritage Hill has a good beer menu, although not as extensive (or varied) as I expected. They were out of our first choices. It would have been good to know that when we were deciding what to order. The food is very good. Both if our dinners were filling. The bean burger was hard to eat because it fell apart, so the person resorted to a knife and fork. The chicken sandwich was messy because of the amount of hit sauce, but I love hit sauce! I used the extra on my fries. The menu on their website is different than the one we were given. Having an up to date menu online would help with planning in advance of getting there. Finally, the prices on the menu are the CASH prices. If you do not use cash, the prices are 4% higher. Had heard about this place from a Facebook page and was visiting the area and decided to stop in. First impressions is that they have a very seamless online reservation system. Was able to place a reservation for 2 an hour out. When we pulled up we were a little early so we walked around and took in their views. It is in a beautiful location! Also stopped into their little cafe where you can warm up by the fire and grab a hot coffee or hot chocolate and even a cookie! We sat at the bar (our choice) so we could watch the football game pre-show. My husband tried a beer flight and then ordered the Tijuana beer. Unfortunately I don't know where to start. Went on a Friday night around 7:30. Service begun less than acceptable. The waitress took our drink, food, and appetizer order. Then we had no contact for 45 minutes (+) until we then received both the food and app. At the same time. Did not ever receive the drinks. There was also this dog that kept looming around the outdoor seating area, begging for food, etc. got annoyingly close to customers as they were eating, unfortunately this is also a MAJOR HEALTH CODE violation. I came here the weekend before last, and visiting this spot made my whole weekend. There is so, so much to love about this place. It's a bit of a drive, but 100% worth the trip. The scenery while approaching is very pretty, and the views at the actual restaurant are lovely. We came around lunchtime on Saturday, and the brewery was buzzing. Despite the crowd, service was very fast. Our waitress was hustling but she was very sweet, funny, and friendly. We sat in the outside section, which has a roof overtop, covered sides, and heating, which made for a very comfortable meal. My friend and I both ordered the pumpkin pie beer. If you opt to have the glass rimmed (and you totally should) they'll line the top with caramel and cinnamon sugar, and it will be all the more delightful. The beer itself was really tasty. The flavors were well-balanced and the beer was light but had a hearty texture, the way I prefer. The pumpkin pie blend is spiced with Tahitian vanilla and Vietnamese cinnamon and is brewed on premise. Several tables around us ordered it, so it seems popular. Prices on the drinks were super reasonable. We split an order of pretzel sticks to start. The mustard was amazing, and the beer cheese was pretty good too. The pretzels were good-sized and warm and fresh. I ordered the house-made black bean burger. It was huge, literally spilling out of the bun. Loved the goat cheese, though I wasn't sure how it would pair with the black beans. Everything was tasty, and the fries were seasoned well. (Word to the wise-- ask for ketchup ahead of time because they won't bring it automatically!) The real reason I was so charmed by this place is the animals. I'm a five year old at heart, and if you tell me I can pet animals I'm there. There were two donkeys which we pet on the way in. Post lunch, we headed downhill to play with the others. There were rabbits, a very friendly pig, and a big pen of goats. As I'm writing this, there are currently about 8 baby goats, and they are so, so darling. Seriously, adorable. They're so small (the size of my cat) and they come right up to the fence and let you pet them. Yes, they bleated and frolicked around, and yes, my heart melted. The serotonin rush I got from playing with these cuties lasted all day. There's a playground for kids and hammocks where you can hang out and enjoy the view. Large outside stage. Several fire pits. Have events frequently so I recommend following them Facebook to keep updated on all their planned events. Some events do have a cover charge. Their beer is ok and if you don't like it their are cocktails and other drinks. Does get busy during weekends on warmer nights, might plan ahead and bring your own seating just incase. They had Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, hammocks, and more. There were chickens and turkeys wandering around and they even had pens with goats and donkeys too! We made reservations for St. Patricks Day brunch. We really like HH, but.. They hold a cc card and charge 50 per couple for no shows. We arrived to a " sest yourself" sign and the place was nearly empty. Ruben's were a special. i love them but only using turkey. They did not have turkey. Plan B was scrambled eggs and toast. I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. The wind must being blowing cause I am blown away. The view is awesome (Should have got a picture before dark). I had the opportunity to speak to one of the owners and he was very cool and informative. The beef on the menu is Home grown and the grains in the beer are also. I had a flight that beats any in my memory. The Pompey Born Lager was the best micro brew lager I have had. The Frazee Milk Stout was out of this world creamy with a rich chocolatey flavor. The menu looked great and I wanted to eat but didn't have time. The decor was simple and brilliant all wood and expose ventilation. The ceiling was especially cool. This place is great please come check it out it will be the new hot spot. HHB checks a lot of boxes. There's a a whole list of things to enjoy for adults, kids, couples and families. HHB is tucked away in Pompey NY (who knew?) Small children will be easily entertained by the chickens, goats and donkeys which can be fed and petted. Don't like animals? Your kids can play on the playground. There's also a small train that the kids can ride around in. Adults can watch tv, visit the coffee house, sample some of their craft beers, unwind and enjoy the view. This place really is a nice surprise given there's not a lot to do in Pompey. The service was slow in the restaurant but that's to be expected given the post covid staffing shortage most restaurants are experiencing. If you dine inside the pricing is slightly higher than buying a la carte at the outside grill and your wait time will probably be a bit longer Grab a drink and a bite to eat and enjoy a truly spectacular view. There are farm animals which was fun for the kids, they have donkeys, goats, cows, bunnies, chickens, and turkeys. They also have a big playground with hammocks to swing on and a play set to climb on. There's a beautiful view of the rolling hills from the picnic tables out back. We sat outside the restaurant at a picnic table and ordered drinks and food inside to bring out to enjoy there. Large drink selection, I had an IPA and was happy with it. Open up the app, start a new order, enter credit card number, wait 15-20 minutes. Want another round of drinks? Guess what... open up the app, etc. you get it! What's truly bizarre, the food comes out whenever! We ordered pretzel sticks for an appetizer. They came after dinner was out. Forget about splitting a check, it's not happening. Part of going out to dinner is being waited on, the interaction with the wait staff, etc. This is gone. Probably the most egregious change they made is a mandatory 18% gratuity. A tip or gratuity is absolutely not mandatory. It is earned by great service, friendly demeanor, etc. To mandate 18% when staff is merely bringing you food and drinks is absolutely ridiculous. Management should be ashamed of themselves. You've turned an otherwise fantastic restaurant into an impersonal money grab. We will not be back anytime soon, and we will continue to tell anyone who will listen just how bad this place has become. read more

The place was very full. It has a large dining area with a couple huge tables to accommodate very large parties. The view is phenomenal. The food was delicious. The take out side of business can use some work. Every time I ordered take out something was missing or the food just wasn't as good as it was during our dine in experience. It wasn't the temperature of the food, I live near there, not enough time for the food to get cold.. the pulled pork was rather dry and they were stingy with the sauce. I was missing my Mac n cheese. Super tasty brewpub, museum, petting zoo, playground, and viewpoint. They brew a lot of beers and had some really tasty IPAs with some interesting fruit flavors. The Brewseum is a cute little museum on the history of the local beer scene. The petting zoo had a bunch of goats, plus a cow, pig, turkey, and chicken. The little playground was fun and cute and there were a bunch of hammocks around.
