Been to this little coffee shop for years and it's a divine space and homey spot. The food is so fresh and delicious and the coffee is amazing! Today I kicked it back with the Salmon BLT I haven't even finished it yet because I had to stop and write a review, very good. Then ordered a half sweet hazelnut and caramel latte which paired perfectly with my food. The staff is so kind, the barista greeted me with the biggest smile and took great care of me with her attentiveness and pleasant personality. Don't remember how we stumbled upon this gem, but so glad we did! We just missed breakfast, which we were bummed about, until we ate our lunch! Small cafe located in a semi-residental area with other shops. Love the idea and location. Ambiance is nice and love the decor. Got the fall special Cinderella latte and it was good. They also offer bakery items, homemade quiche, and sandwiches. Didn't get any food but the white chocolate raspberry bar was gobbled up by the spouse so I didnt even get to try it! Came on Black Friday hoping it might be Friday pastrami day but they didn't have any pastrami. The special was the roast beef panini which is what I ended up ordering and it was very good. I wasn't sure what to expect... you walk in and order from a counter. The man taking our order was super helpful and friendly. He told us they can turn any sandwich or panini into a salad.. Sold! They were excellent salads. The only issue we encountered is the outdoor seating was full (they only have four tables), and the noise level inside was deafening. So I stayed in Aiken for two weeks and didn't want to try any other coffee shop. If I did, it was because I couldn't get out of the car because of kids haha. This cafe had the best coffee I've had in a while. It was so smooth and perfect. I could just taste the quality of the espresso beans and the skilled hands that made it. Their good was delicious too! The breakfast panini was just right! I loved the green onions that just lifted it to another level. The muffin was a high quality one too. I believe they are made in house, so very moist and tasty. The yogurt parfait wasn't just any regular parfait. They had all the fixings I expect but what made it just top notch was the browned sugar they add to the side. My daughter dumped all of it in. My turkey panini for lunch had a surprisingly good taste. It had some kind of sweet sauce that was just the perfect touch to balance it out. The service was great! And the cafe is so quaint! Perfect spot to bring friends to and hang out for a bit on a fall morning. Fireplace has some nice comfy chairs in front of it. The place is decorated with art from locals that are for sale. I've had a sandwich the chili, which the lemon aïoli is amazing. However, this post is about the apple cinnamon muffin, We're talking about a three dollar muffin that's crumbly on the outside yet delicate in the inside it's moist but crunchy I mean it dances around your mouth and satisfies each and every taste bud. Listen people this has to be a gourmet muffin because I didn't even mention the real apple pieces that's in the inside that's soft like one that would be an apple pie. This muffin was one of the best things I've had in a very, very very long time and it's only three dollars. This Cafe is so beautiful and so quaint. Honestly I believe this was my first time trying stuffed French toast and it was lovely. I think the cream cheese with type of jam I think it was either strawberry raspberry but either way it was really good. Especially with scrambled egg and maple syrup mixed with it. I also purchased a iced chai latte but it wasn't quite delicious. It tasted more like water down milk instead of chai but either way it was worth it. I love seeing local businesses thrive (this one just celebrated their one year anniversary) and I especially love seeing quality food and drinks being served. I made my visit doing a off time (about 3 pm) so that I could take my time ordering and chatting with the team, and so I could take advantage of the Happy Hour (which starts after 2 pm, everyday!). I ordered the sandwich on special (the New Yorker) which came with a side of coleslaw, added a cup of the clam chowder, and a lemon bar. For refreshment, a bottle of water and a beer. But first, the location. Depending on where you, this might feel a little off the beaten path. But don't confuse that with distance. Coming from downtown Augusta, it only took about 20 minutes to get here. And the setting is quite peaceful. Walking in the side door, I was confused for a second where the ordering took place but it didn't take long to find the register. The team, from beginning to end, were super friendly and deeply knowledgeable. Now for the sandwich. The house made pastrami was not only sliced thick (which I loved), but it was piled on thick as well. And the flavor, I could have ordered two and not regretted it. The dijon mustard and 1000 Island dressing were the perfect compliment, but I have to talk about that bread. I don't do much bread these days (trying to be healthy, despite my order here) so when I do have it I want it to be perfect. Here it was beyond perfect. I was told by the chef that their bread comes from a company in Atlanta. I was surprised as the level of quality led me to believe it was baked in-house. If they start selling it by the loaf, I'm buying. The coleslaw was very moist, which I like, and a great flavor. I alternated between that and the clam chowder to keep my taste buds on edge. The chowder had more of a clam flavor than most I find in the area, but for me that's a good thing. I want the main ingredient to be predominant. I also want to note that it wasn't overly salty, another mistake some make. Thankfully I had room for the lemon bar. Lemon bars are tricky. They can taste like fake lemon if done wrong and they can be overly sweet. This was neither. The lemon was authentic, slightly sour but not overpowering, and the crust was thick but not dry. If I had thought about it, I would have ordered an espresso to compliment it. I do want to mention that the coffee is from Buona Caffe so you know you're getting quality coffee and espresso. Also, the Happy Hour is for coffee, beer, and wine. Now that's a good deal. On these colder days, you can find a seat near the gas fireplace and take your time. Village Cafe is just so cute! It feels fresh, bright, and welcoming. Order at the counter before being seated. The chalk board menu is neat and easy to read. I had the Grilled Vegetable Salad. It took about 15 minutes to get my food, but we really didn't notice until everyone who ordered a sandwich (even those after us in line) received their order first. When the salad finally arrived, the staff was very apologetic. The salad was ok. There was a good amount of spinach, but I would have like more than one slice of each grilled vegetable and more dressing (I couldn't taste the cilantro at all). The baked cheese on top was really good! Be sure to cut it while it's warm though... The salad was nice and light, but not filling for me. I wish I had a piece of bread or something to go along with it. The coffee, water, and soup are self serve and those areas were very neat. Now to the saving star...the desserts! It was hard to choose! I got the lemon bar and sampled the pistachio gelato (made in house!). The cold lemon bar was great for a hot day. Customers are expected to clean their tables prior to leaving, but we saw a couple people just leave their plates and walk out... All in all this was a pretty good experience. This place definitely has gone downhill over the years. I used to visit quite frequently, and it was a great place to go after working out. After my last experience, I will say that was my last time giving this place a chance. The woman that waited on us was very rude and I thought, well she must be having an off day. When she brought my husband his food, she brought an extra plate because she assumed we were sharing. She stated that the NEXT time, she would charge us more because of it. I did take 2 bites out of my husband's sandwich, but it wasn't worth the 8.00. I don't know what the additional charge was going to be, but I'm not going to dine in a place that dictates if I can share food or not. read more

This place is LOVELY! The staff is super friendly and I can tell when I am waiting on my order, the atmosphere is very bright and positive. The customers and employees seem to get along extremely well to where they know each other on a first name basis, and that's a personal touch you just don't see at many places and I appreciate that. I love coming here to get my coffee and a treat! It seems like Ben is the guy to know. He knows a lot of the guests and they know him and he interacts with them in such a genuine way. My review may be a bit skewed because this little place is in our neighborhood but even if it was 20 miles out I would still highly recommend it. I often stop in for their grab to go selections. They are fresh daily and they always have lots of options.
