This spot is our favorite place for coffee and daytime bites in downtown Aiken. Roxi my medical service dog from Roxi's Ranch loves it just as much as I do. If you're a frequent coffee drinker, their refill cup deal is unbeatable at only $1.25. The breakfast sandwich is genuinely one of the best around. The bread is always fresh, and everything is made to order with real care. The staff is wonderful friendly to both locals and folks visiting from out of town and the steady lines just prove how popular the place is. While you're there, take a moment to check out the local artwork and stickers. There are some surprisingly interesting pieces. It can get a little noisy when the blender kicks on, but the back section stays nice and quiet. If I really enjoy the cup of coffee I'm drinking, I'll pop next door and buy the beans. Its been awhile since Ive been here. Thought I get some coffee and a steak n egg burrito. Staff were super friendly as always. Reason for the 3 star is the steak was cold raw meat. I didn't complain or make a fuss. Ill just leave a review on here. That is a health concern serving raw meat. I pulled the steak out of the burrito and finished it. Not sure why or how they could miss an obvious thing. Hope the owner sees this for proper correction before the health department does. These past couple of years have found me in Aiken more and more. Some of it due to field placement. Some due to the new businesses popping up. But there is a mainstay I always visit when driving down Laurens Street. As I've stated in my previous review, yes it's almost a mirror menu of the Augusta location. So makes this one different? I still stand by the aroma factor. They roast their beans (you did know that right?) just a couple of doors down from the Cafe and oh is it heavenly. And just as every community has their own vibe/feel, so do the businesses that reside there. The outdoor seating here is right on the sidewalk (with more tucked in close to the building). The art is local of course and food and coffee are top notch. If you prefer vegan, vegetarian, or sugar (e.g. The Fairy Toast) this is the place for you. read more

I have given this place 3 tries because I know it's loved by the community. Iced coffee is watered down bean water and has never been made correctly. (How do you mess up iced caramel coffee?) Staff is only friendly to locals and snotty otherwise. My bagel sat in the window as I waited patiently for over 15 minutes (after taking over 20 minutes to cook) while the staff couldn't handle a rush of 4 people. Glad I waited almost an hour in total for a cold bagel sandwich and disgusting coffee in an uncomfortable and claustrophobic environment as more people continued to pile in since they couldn't get a few simple orders out correctly in a timely manner. They clearly have a system that does not work for them. The line isn't because it's good- it's the service or lack there of. The building doesn't feel clean and tables were filthy. People splashing their garbage in the bin right next to product. 3rd time was NOT a charm. I will never be back. read more

Cozy with outside and two inside sitting areas. Art on the walls. We ordered our food and hot chocolate, which was brought to us. Our coffee was self-serve with free refills. It was not noisy, and almost two hours of talk went by quickly. There were three types of self-service coffee to choose from. One was caffeine free. Ordered a Nitro Cold Brew coffee. It was completely flat - not a scintilla of head or bubbles. I questioned the barista, and was told that the order was correct. Luckily the cold brew tasted good, but the barista was fairly rude and unpleasant about the whole ordeal. It pretty much pissed me off. I won't be back. read more

This New Moon location looks like a "hole in the wall" place where you'd find a secret locals lunch spot packed with flavour and deals, but unfortunately that's not the case. Their menu holds promise with all the sandwiches and breakfast items looking delicious, but so far everything I've tried has been incredibly average and generally lacking in flavour. Sandwiches come with a side of chips, which at a health- conscious place like this that puts so much emphasis on freshly made food (they even roast their own coffee) you'd expect them to make their own, but it's just a bag of lays potato chips. I can appreciate why this place is popular; they have vegan and vegetarian options (unlike most of downtown), but I'm not convinced that alone makes their food worth it. Went back to New Moon today and had a large decaf tea with honey and cinnamon! So, so good! Picked up a quart of chicken salad (delicious) to go with soft crusty croissants warm out of the oven! Ordered the California Love for my husband. It's homemade spinach dip on top of golden Turkey inside a warm pita with marinated veggies! Looks hearty and delicious! My child was in the stroller and was a little fussy and when my friend came in to stroll him to find a spot, one of the staff openly mocked my child and I guess didn't think I was looking. Was rudely asked to move the stroller from in front of the the cooler, which the table was right in front of and there was a chair originally in front of it before I moved it to the side, and which I was trying to make space but the seating was really limited and it could've been said a lot nicer. Felt very singled out and should've just left that is on me, but my baby needed to eat and I was meeting with a friend. Definitely not family friendly. Not what I expected; it's should be described as a sweet tonic water with a sprinkle of blueberries. If ginger ale soda or Fever-Tree was used the slightest hint of ginger was undetectable but certainly not an ounce of real ginger was noted. The service is prompt and they are always happy to help with suggestions of items on an off menu. Although it's small there's outdoor seating and seating in the back. First time. Read the menu outside and decided I wanted the Tomy Montana, their version of a Cuban. After ordering I was told they didn't have the pork or the ham and would I consider substituting TURKEY? I chose to order the Crab Bisque, a bowl portion. Served at my table in a to go container in a paper bag. I was told there would be a half loaf of bread served with it. There was two raw slices off the end of a tiny loaf, maybe equal to one slice of white bread. I tried to eat the bisque there at the table but it was so disgusting, thick, cold, you could tell they had attempted to warm it in a microwave, I chose to take it home. I've checked in here over 20 times and I've never reviewed it? That's terrible. Anyways its a great little hole in the wall coffehouse/smoothie palace/breakfast den/lunch spot in Downtown Aiken. The employees are generally nice and accommodating of requests. It's best to call in orders around lunch time because it gets really busy. I love to get their Green Monster smoothie. I'm not really a coffee drinker, but when I'm in the mood I get the kickersnoodle coffee. It's freaking amazing! They always have lunch specials depending on the variety of goods they have available for the day. I keep coming back here day after day and I have never been disappointed in the food, smoothies, or the service.
