    Mushroom and American omelette
    Kellie D.

Seated immediately on a Sunday morning. The tables are rather close together and the patrons behind me were SO LOUD. Waitress immediately brought us waters. I was going to order an omelette but as I perused them I realized almost none of them had cheese and to order any of them was more expensive than doing the "build your own". Weird. So I ordered an omelette with American cheese and mushrooms. The omelette was good with plenty of mushrooms and cheese. The home fries were cooked all the way through but not crispy on the outside at all -- mealy. The toast looked good but I didn't have any. I liked that there was hot sauce and ketchup on the table. Our food did come out quickly. Overall a decent breakfast but I probably wouldn't go back.

In the realm of no-fuss breakfast or brunch comfort food, this cozy and popular diner does a good job of feeding the masses. It was packed on a chilly Saturday morning, and service was friendly and pleasant. Food is a tad bland but I imagine that's intentional - you can dress it up with hot sauce and ketchup. I know that owner Manny works hard to offer a positive dining experience, and I appreciate his commitment and passion for The Virginian!

Love this charming hometown staple. We always come for breakfast when visiting Vienna. The food is all good and the service is friendly and professional.

I'm working in the area and always look for local eateries. On the road all the time and national chains get old. This place has a nice counter, reminds me of the ole Rexal Drug store cafe. Stop in and enjoy the simple life!

Cute diner with a standard menu. The rooster themed decor is fun. I had scrambled eggs, a pancake, and grits. The food came out incredibly fast which was great since we were very hungry. The staff is polite and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Walked in here on a Tuesday afternoon with my friend, and there was nobody in here. Better for us, I guess, but bad for the restaurant. Plenty of seating, along with parking outside - I really liked the decor and all the chickens/ roosters that they had. You can select your own table, and we were served menus, drinks fairly quickly. The menu is fairly similar to most diner spots in this area, while also having an all-day breakfast menu too. ------------------------------------------------- What we ordered: - 2 Eggs with Home Fries and Toast, with a side of meat choice (I opted for eggs over easy, wheat toast, and bacon) - Short Stack with 2 eggs and side of meat choice (chocolate chip short stack, 2 scrambled eggs, and bacon) -Sausage and Gravy over Biscuit, served with home fries (to-go) ------------------------------------------------- Overall, all of the food was quite delicious and affordable. We were able to be in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. The only reason why I'm deducting a star is due to the oversalting of the home fries, which I mentioned to the waitress and owner, and they let me know it's sometimes due to the amount of butter that they use. While it was too salty in the home fries plate I ate in the restaurant, it was a good combo with the sausage and gravy over biscuit, where the gravy had a slight sweetness to is (maybe some maple syrup included). The owner also let me know about why there's so many chicken & rooster decorations, and it made me want to bring in a rooster/ chicken piece for him too!

We stopped by on a Sunday morning, and the place was packed. I love the old-school feel at this place and all the chicken statues decorating the restaurant. The food was really good and the coffee is delicious. Our waitress was so friendly as well. I'm definitely coming back here again!

French toast - needs more love/fluff & powdered sugar?

Rainy but warm weekend, so breakfast all day it is. Hubs got eggs, bacon & home fries - decent amount of bacon slices. My skillet dish was simple and comforting - tho the home fries could have been more crispy (served in decorative skillet not cast iron). Kids had eggs Benedict (bit too much hollandaise sauce) and French toast (needs more fluff) . Overall good meals at good prices, plus supporting local business.

A cute little diner in Vienna with a basic diner menu. The staff was so friendly and helpful and it was a great place to sit and study for a little while in the morning. They kept the coffee cup full of hot coffee. A nice place to spend your morning.

I was intrigued by the pastrami sandwich options on the menu and really appreciated that gluten free bread was an option, so I had to try it! I was not disappointed at all. The sandwich was hefty - packed with meat, and flavorful. I'm not sure I liked the pile of salad that comes on the side - it's a lot to finish for one person and seems a bit wasteful. The service was good, but the sandwiches did take a bit longer than expected to come out. That might not be the case for other dishes though. I would certainly visit again!

But driving by on weekends, and seeing the crowds bursting out the door, we deferred visiting the Vienna Carnegie Diner. Instead, on our first time, we came midday on a weekday and there weren't that many people and we were seated immediately. Overall, service was fine, though a bit in disarray because we had two different servers ask if we were ready to order. We both ordered the very good Chicken Salad sandwich. It's huge and really makes for two meals. It comes with very decent fries and an excellent side salad that has been drizzled with two different tasty dressings. We saw lentil soup on the menu, and if it's like the lentil soup at the Carnegie Diners in NYC, I highly recommend it. We absolutely will be back.

For the main, I had the Pan Seared Wild Petrale Sole, which was beautifully cooked and fresh. My friend loved the chicken, and we ended the night sharing a delicious dessert. Bonus: Parking was a breeze--we found a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. We will definitely be back!

They offer a prix-fixe menu that changes seasonally (?) for brunch and dinner. The ingredients here are high-quality and well prepared and cared for before serving. I've heard great things about Maple Ave from a friends, so I took my family here for dinner this past Wednesday. We really enjoyed the creativity of how the dishes were crafted and plated here and the execution was also phenomenal. This time around, it was 59.00 per person for a 4-course prix-fixe dinner (two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert). Since there were only a couple options per section, we were able to try all the options they had. FIRST: APPLE HAZELNUT SOUP Creamy, pale colored soup with a thicker consistency similar to butternut squash soup. It was lightly sweet, yet savory at the same time. There were some pickled apples and toasted hazelnuts delicately sprinkled on top that added a bit of a crunch. The soup was unique and we enjoyed it. FIRST: ROOTCAKE Between the rootcake and the apple hazelnut soup, the rootcake was my favorite. The vegetables were caramelized and made into a patty, topped generously with almonds with some umami aïoli and pimenton sauce. The rootcake was so good. Each bite was hearty and rich, and it's such a unique way to prepare vegetables. The sauce enhanced each bite and the almonds provided a nutty texture. I would recommend the rootcake as your first option. SECOND: CRISPY SQUASH NUGGETS I didn't think I would enjoy the crispy squash nuggets as much as I did. The roasted squash is breaded with panko crumbs, sitting in some dill yogurt sauce and topped with some raisins and radish. The squash were perfectly seasoned and crispy with a soft interior that left my taste buds wanting more. The dill yogurt sauce was a good complement. I'd definitely recommend this option if you're not a fan of mushrooms and/or you want something more crispy. SECOND: WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO One of the best mushroom risottos I've ever had. It's rich and creamy, filled with truffle flavor. The shiitake mushrooms had a dry, crispy texture. The manchego shavings on top were a great plus. The squash was used for coloring and probably some flavoring? Not sure. The whole thing was really good and memorable. I'd definitely recommend! THIRD: SHRIMP I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but my family loved it along with the citrus braised fennel. I was a fan of the creamy semolina, though! Overall, it wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference. THIRD: PORK CONFIT STEAK The pork they used was pork belly (?) and seared very nicely, topped with perfectly crispy potatoes, mangoes (?), brown butter sweet potato puree and chimi churri sauce. The pork belly melted in my mouth but as someone who's not the biggest fan of fatty pork, I wish it was a leaner cut. The potatoes were so good and went well with the sweet potato puree. Even though I didn't love the pork confit steak, I'd recommend this entree over the shrimp. FOURTH: MOCK FRIED "APPLE" PIE It was zucchini instead of apple and you can't even tell. I loved the crispy pie exterior which was lightly topped with cinnamon. The vanilla bean ice cream was my favorite as it was creamy and smooth. The dulce de leche and lavender honey were nice touches. Very nice way to end the meal. All the food here were so rich with lots of complex flavors. Each dish was so beautifully plated with many vibrant colors. We were quite full after all the food we ate. I would recommend coming here with another person to try all the options they offer here! The food here is unique and well-executed, and I'd be open to come back to try a different seasonal menu.
