I checked this place out for a weekend brunch, and it did not disappoint. The portions were generous, and we left feeling stuffed. It's a great spot for both small and large groups. The service was quick, and our waiter was super attentive. I would definitely recommend it for brunch.

We've been to both Carnegie Diners in Midtown Manhattan and like them very much, so we wanted to try the Carnegie Diner in Vienna. But driving by on weekends, and seeing the crowds bursting out the door, we deferred visiting the Vienna Carnegie Diner. Instead, on our first time, we came midday on a weekday and there weren't that many people and we were seated immediately. Overall, service was fine, though a bit in disarray because we had two different servers ask if we were ready to order. We both ordered the very good Chicken Salad sandwich. It's huge and really makes for two meals. It comes with very decent fries and an excellent side salad that has been drizzled with two different tasty dressings. We saw lentil soup on the menu, and if it's like the lentil soup at the Carnegie Diners in NYC, I highly recommend it. We absolutely will be back.

I recently got the opportunity to go to Carnegie for lunch with a colleague. Their portion sizes were delightful. The service with attentive and informative and it had a true diner feel. It's interesting that this location does not have a location in DC.

This is the type of place you dine with your friends. The food options are endless; and there is plenty of seating and parking . They have breakfast all day so that's what I ordered, an omelette. It was ok; but the mozzarella cheese was tasteless. The service was great. The place boasts of a connection to the NY deli, but I don't think so. The decor has its own flair, bright, cheerful, but not NY Carnegie style.

Carnegie Diner was fantastic!!!! The portions are huge and they serve breakfast all day. Great NYC theme and ambience We enjoyed the onion rings appetizer, protein sunshine omelette with hash browns and salad, crispy chicken sandwich with fries, avocado toast, and oreo cake. Their mocktails are delicious and refreshing. They have a 24 layer chocolate cake which rotates in the display - I will definitely order in the future! They have tons of cakes, pies, and cookies too. Great local spot for families and friends to hang out.

The 2nd attempt to try Carnegie Diner. My husband and I walked and waited 20ish minutes after being waitlisted on Sunday morning a quarter after 10. The ambiance was warm and bright but the noise level was definitely loud. The server was nice but quite busy with larger groups. Food was wonderful. We enjoyed every bite of it. The only downside is their parking. It is hit or miss to find a parking spot since it is located as a part of small plaza.

I thought I already did a review because last year's Christmas breakfast was here also which is why we came back this year. Is there really anything more to say than that? Ok, I'll say more. First the staff was welcoming with their greeting and seemed to be happy to be at work on Christmas day. I and so very grateful of that because we would not had anywhere to eat. I mean, we could've went home because we were doing a staycation but the food wouldn't have been as good. Don't get me wrong, I can cook but sometimes it tastes so much better when someone else cooks. And when they do it well, it makes it all the better. The fam favorite seems to be the freshly squeezed OJ however they weren't excited as much as they were the last time they had it. Not sure if something was different or if the newness wore off. The portions are pretty huge so don't be ashamed if you need a to-go container. You should be prepared to take a nap after eating a whole meal (breakfast) because that is exactly what we did (again). I have only had their breakfast (and their chocolate cake last year) so that is all I am referring to. I didn't have the cake this year because I was super full from breakfast and it took me days to finish that chocolate cake last time. This will probably be our Christmas tradition (when we're in the area) going forward. Oh, there a few things that are obvious. 1. It's a diner. 2. It's a Carnegie Hall theme. Depending on who your server is, they may have some fun facts to share about both the diner and Carnegie Hall.

My pancakes were overcooked. I can't trust a place that overcooks pancakes. The onion rings were good but congealed pretty quick. You can tell they're pushing food out but the quality should matter. The pastrami was good with the sauerkraut but it was pretty average and overpriced. The service was excellent and the ambiance is highly maintained. I just wish the food/prices were better

Carnegie Diner & Café in Vienna, VA, is a lively NYC-style restaurant known for its generous portions and all-day breakfast. We have visited multiple times and enjoyed it over the years, but during our recent visit, we observed a decline in service and overall quality that must be addressed. The corner hamburger was good, but the pastrami hot dog was a bit salty for our liking. The food was average, with an excess of French fries that felt too carb-heavy and lacked a healthy focus. The coffee has improved compared to the last few visits, but it still needs improvement. The ambiance, with numerous NYC-themed prints, red-orange spotlights, hanging flowers, and other decor, feels overwhelming and needs refinement to better complement the food and service. They charge a 2.29% credit card fee on top of everything, which is excessive.

    Nice, modern interior seating

The restaurant was super clean, modern looking (almost reminds me of like an upscale Silver Diner). Wait staff were friendly and the music choices were pretty chill. The food came out within a good amount of time. We ordered the onion rings appetizer, the Peter's Special, and the Reuben Sandwich (not pictured). The appetizer came out within 10 minutes piping hot and crispy. The sauce was sweet, but there are table condiments if the signature sauce isn't your thing. My Peter's Special was surprisingly 3 sliders of half pastrami and half corned beef with a balsamic dressed salad, some pickles, and sauerkraut. I didn't know it was going to be 3 sandwiches but the portions of the over all meal was plenty to take home, flavorful, and fresh.

It really does look like your going to Carnegie Hall! I really love how bright Carnegie Diner & Cafe is because of all the windows.. they have a local Pumpkin fall decor in the back left and front doorway which is one of the most prettiest designs I've seen this Fall 2025. They are doing this to support a local fundraising and to entice customers to dine in. I was amazed how spacious the interior is and there's at least 10+ bar stools to eat here at the wine bar. They have an amazing options of food choices with a 8+ menu that has beautiful image samples on the left side pages of their laminated spiral notebook. I will definitely come back here to eat for dinner, maybe bring my entire family since they have a huge comfy yet mid century modern booth community wall sitting area that seats at least up to 25+ people! Everything is clean, organized, and very spacious which I love very much! They were featured on Fox 5 year or two ago and I finally decided to stop by this morning for breakfast. They also have ample dessert choices that includes cakes, bread, and cupcake choices! A must try diner & cafe

Came for a Sunday brunch without a reservation and they had no issue fitting us. It was pretty busy, but not insane. I went with the avocado toast and got a side of the wagyu pastrami. The avocado toast was quite good- the salad it came with and the toast itself had a lot going on. The pastrami, on the other hand, was a few pieces of meat for $10. Otherwise, service was okay. The servers required multiple reminders for many requests but ended up getting them done.

The service was spectacular. Our coffee and sodas were never empty. Our waiter was personable and very conscious of my allergies. The pastrami burger was out of this world. They have gluten free buns, but limited gluten free breakfast options. I love the decor. It's very New York style deli with a bunch of vinyl records on the wall. Great spot for brunch! Would highly recommend.

Do they have high chairs and changing stations in the bathroom? I was looking for family friendly spots and this popped up in my search.

Yes, they do! We visited recently with my grandson who was about 13 months at the time.

I've been looking for a strawberry matcha that has a creamy rich texture, with the perfect ratio of strawberry and matcha. I do appreciate the fact that they use real strawberry puree, but it didn't taste balanced to me. My husband got the mocha forest matcha, it was alright. I wasn't a huge fan of either drinks. I also felt the matcha wasn't ceremonial grade. It had that weird Starbucks fishy taste to it. We ordered breakfast as well- the breakfast indeed tasted homemade but not the kind that wowed me. More like okay wonder bread and some protein. Nothing that stood out or tasted unique. I left wishing I had spent the money elsewhere. Overall, I don't live close to this location so I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if invited I wouldn't be opposed. It's a tiny spot with few seats and a shared small parking lot. It's better for to go orders. Casual ambiance.

I enjoyed the blend of coffee and flavor - not either one overpowering each other. I personally like a little more syrup but it wasn't undrinkable. The almond milk was a teeny bit woody. I'll get oat milk next time. The cashier helped us decided on what pastries to get (there wasn't any signage). I ended up getting a strawberry croissant that was so pretty - it even had some gold glitter on top! Perfect for cherry blossom season. It was flaky and not too sweet. Hubby got a cinnamon roll and they warmed it up for it so it was nice and gooey. It was a cute urban feeling cafe with great AC and comfy seating. Both were presented tastefully to make sure our eyes and cameras wanted to eat before our stomachs. The dubai gelato was a quality dessert with a good ratio of milk: cream. The pistachio flavor was evident on top, but it was just a kinda tart vanilla ice cream with toppings. I did like it, however, and it paired well with the lokmas. The lokmas were fried to perfection, a nice amount of chewy, and covered with a good ratio of pistachio cream. They were a decent size and conducive to sharing. The prices of everything, overall, was pretty expensive, but the quality definitely made up for it. I'd recommend this cafe to someone looking for a unique sweet treat, catching up with a group of girl friends of 2-4 people, or for a first date!
