I went in for one thing. The sales woman who helped me showed me where my item was. then she tried to upsell me to another product. I asked her about the Vitamin Shoppe Easy to Swallow Vitamin C softgels. Instead of telling me that it was discontinued, she was telling me about the benefits of a liquid and then the capsules. I have been taking them for years with no problem swallowing them. If she had said that they were discontinued, I might have asked her about a replacement. When I went home, I looked up the Easy to Swallow on the website. There it was. I didn't like the lecture that I received nor the attitude. I happen to be in the area for another reason. It kept moving ti the Huntington Beach Location. I couldn't find the info I was looking for.I decided to do it the old fashioned way so I went into the store. Michael greated me warmly as I entered. He asked me if he could help. I told him what I was looking for. He lead me to the area I needed. But when the customer service is amazing and someone goes above and beyond, I believe it's worth taking the time to recognize that effort. I want to give a huge thank you to Jessi. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I came in with a list of supplements, and without hesitation, she helped me find every single item. She walked with me throughout the entire store, showed me the exact location of each product, and even explained the benefits and saturation of each supplement. You can clearly tell she loves her job and does her research. At one point, she politely excused herself to assist other customers--since she was the only one on the floor--and immediately came back to check on us afterward. That level of dedication is rare. At other locations, employees might just point you in the general direction of a shelf and avoid eye contact if you need more help. Loved my trip here! I'm new to buying vitamins and had done some research before coming in; but definitely was looking for more guidance. Jessica was AWESOME! She helped me every step of the way and thoroughly answered my (million and one) questions. She asked me what my main health concerns were (skincare/hormonal imbalances) and catered her advice and product suggestions to them. We spent probably 30 minutes+ going over a list of vitamins/supplements. The importance of each one, their functions/effects on the body and even gave me a schedule of when to take them all! I am so glad I had someone to walk me through, what is to me, the overwhelming world of vitamins/supplements. Convenient location, friendly staff, nice store but pricier than most. -i came here to find the OhYeah! One protein bars since they don't carry them at GNC, the only retail place I've purchased protein bars. they had a good selection of flavours, including the new birthday cake. UPDATE: I found these at Nutrition Zone for $1.99 with a "buy 3 get 1 free" deal (vs the $2.59 they charge here)! -they also had all the flavours of the Quest protein bars and chips at a better price than GNC (however, GNC has a "buy 3 get 1 free" mix and match protein bar deal, so the regular price would be better there. however, I picked some up cause they were on sale for only $2.19. Regular price $2.69, which is about 20 to 30 cents more than Trader Joes and Sprouts. UPDATE: found these at Nutrition Zone for $2.39 with a "buy 3 get 1 free" deal... definitely the best price!. -i was a bit disappointed that they only have a limited variety of the Combat protein bars, but the price was lower than GNC per bar, but not after you factor in GNC's "buy 3 get 1 free" deal. -the store is new, clean, well organized and bright -all the prices are clearly marked and they offer discounts on bulk/case purchases and seem to have good sales -its located in a strip mall near a wide variety of other stores (Vons, CVS, Kohls, Target, Wallgreens etc) so its a convenient location when you're doing your other shopping -there is 30 minute parking right in front of the store, but the parking lot is so big there is no shortage of parking -the staff is really nice. i was greeted as soon as i walked in and the lady working there took me right over to the protein bars i came in for -the store manager rang up my purchase and was really, really nice. he answered a bunch of questions I had and seemed really knowledgeable about all the different bars -neither of the employees tried to "push" me or upsell me into buying other items, which I frequently encounter at other supplement shops -he did offer me a loyalty card which gives you $5 back for every $100 you spend. it only took a couple of minutes to sign up -i can't really comment on the rest of the store and its items, but I would only come back here if there was a sale or i was looking to buy something new and needed recommendations from the manager read more

I come here often, roughly once a week or so because I work around the corner. Ive never had any issues with customer service until recently. The team is usually very helpful and cheery, but the last two times I've had the pleasure of being rung up/helped by the middle-aged blonde lady who isn't very pleasant. Both times she seemed as though I was bothering her. Didn't crack a smile once, not even a fake one, and when I said "thank you" she replied with "uh huh" while still looking at her keyboard (both times)!!! Not very genuine if you ask me. I went in for some post pregnancy vitamins that my nutritionist recommended and was met with a ego driven, old, and callous woman. She had to be mid to late 60's, frayed out hair and was Caucasian like myself but she was so arrogant and rude when I asked about the whereabouts of the items on my list. At best she's an overpaid receptionist but it strikes me that she wanted to override the suggestions of my licensed nutritionist to the generic brands manufactured by that store simply because she works there. Memo: She's not an expert even if she pretends to be. Needless to say, I won't be returning to that store again because that old woman was so out-of-the-box RUDE. read more

I currently have VIP membership status with a competing nutrition store, however, none of their store locations were close to my work. Instead, I came to the Vitamin Shoppe because I was in much need of more multivitamins. While I was there, I also wanted to look for a certain kind of organic shampoo and conditioner that my mother-in-law wanted. The manager, Eric, is honest and a very knowledgeable of the products they carry. He didn't try to sell me on anything he wasn't already knowledgable about or hadn't already tried himself. I was looking for a non-GMO women's multivitamin in capsule form and he was able to quickly pull from the shelf those that fit under that category. He mentioned that one was newer, so he was not too familiar with its effectiveness, etc. Yet, he knew much of the ingredients of each bottle, before even pointing them out to me on their product labels. I ended up going with the one containing the most super foods. As I was checking out at the register, Eric had mentioned the good results he'd had with the organic lemon grass shampoo and conditioner I selected for my mother-in-law. That gave me better reassurance that she'll like them. The service here was phenomenal. The store is clean, well-organized, well-stocked, and well-staffed. The plus is that parking doesn't seem to be an issue, as they have 30-minute parking spots right in front of the store and the store isn't connected to Kohl's, CVS, or Vons, which are located on other sides of the parking lot. I just signed up for their Healthy Awards membership, since I will be coming here more often. I hope to gain my VIP status here shortly, as well! read more

The staff here is really friendly and helpful. I usually know exactly what I need when I walk in. And where the items are located since this is a not so big store. If you have questions the staff is always willing to help and answer. I like that this store is located in a convenient shopping area with quite a few other stores and eateries in the area. It makes my shopping kinda like on stop drop and roll. The drawback is that it is located next to some popular foodie places so the parking can be a bit tight at times. For frequent shoppers they have a Shoppers card where it tracks your purchases and they email you notifications that its time to buy again. And they also email coupons sometimes. If your not paying attention to your emails you end up deleting them (not like this has happened to me or anything LOL) read more

I usually have a mediocre to bad experience at this place and other vitamin shoppes. My general impression of vitamin shoppe is that they are expensive and overpriced for what it is. Today I met Theresa when I walked in. Boy does she know what she is talking about. Just went I thought she went the extra mile, she went the extra mile again and then again after that. First thing I noticed is she knew what she was talking about. When I asked for certain items she found them, and when I mentioned price was a big deal, she showed me the best value deal. Next when she couldn't find an item, she hopped on the iPad and said it wasn't in the store but she found items that had those ingredients, which I personally was familiar with and was super stoked she found it in something which had excellent reviews online. She then mentioned the Amazon price match that vitamin shoppe is offering. The price of everything I was going to buy was expensive and when she mentioned this and the math was said and done, the price was reduced by 50%, 20% etc on each item. I just felt so cared for at this point. I felt like vitamin shoppe and Theresa were not just looking out for my best interest product wise but price wise as well. I am used to purchasing things on amazon, but I couldn't this time because I needed these items ASAP as opposed to the mail. Next, just went I felt so loved and taken care of with my experience, Theresa again went the extra mile. She told me about a product that doctors and nurses swear by and buy often at that location. She was able to explain how the ingredient in it gave it the effects that it caused. So she knew about the ingredients and product itself, which is BIG to me. Instead of buying a bunch of items that were suggested by google, she helped narrow down the things I actually needed which was round 2 of saving money again. So I plan to go back to this vitamin shoppe more often and tell my friends about Theresa. I already informed the district manager. Next I am trying to inform corporate. Saying that Theresa was stellar would be an understatement. She deserves to be permanently unfirable and she she deserves a raise at the same time. From helping try out different proteins to find the one that works for me, BCAAs, fat burners, protein chips, protein bars, you name it, she's knowledgeable about it. I mainly go here for healthy snacks, food, essential oils, bakery items, and their almond and peanut butter varieties from different brands.
