Very good Stromboli pizza and salads our go to dinner place. We meet friends and family there.

The sauce is the foundation for any Italian eatery. Wagon Wheel has great sauce. The calzone is huge and delicious. The crust is the kind I like and so the pizza is very good. This is a nice, family place with reasonable prices. A little worn, but clean and interesting. Good waitstaff, kitchen can be viewed from the dining area. read more

My family and I go to Wagon Wheel once a week. We love it! The food is great, the service is nice, and the atmosphere is nice. This is also where my friends and I hangout after a long day at school. Below Average Pizza: We ate at Wagon Wheel, on September 16, 2007, and being pressed for time ordered slices and a garden/house salad. Since this restaurant has been in business since 1971, before I walk in I had moderate expectations. When seated I asked the waitress if their mushrooms were fresh or canned. When she replied that they use canned mushrooms my expectations were lowered considerably. When the food came I was even further disappointed. The crust was slightly above average, the sauce tasted like it was out of a jar or can, and the cheese was blob of oily goo that reminded me of public school lunch line pizza. I should have left when I heard canned mushrooms. Even Pizza Hut (but sadly not Bizzaros) uses fresh mushrooms. A pizzeria owner using canned mushrooms is like a cafe serving instant coffee. It says to the world I am too lazy and/or cheap to use fresh produce which will deliver a better product. While Melbourne does not have any true gourmet pizza restaurants with fresh buffalo mozzarella and wood burning or coal fired ovens, it has plenty of choices that are much better that Wagon Wheel. The list of better options for pizza in Melbourne would not only include most every chain but also Walmart, Sam's Clubs, and my freezer. Needless to say I will not be back and would reluctantly recommend Papa Johns over Wagon Wheel. read more

We went for lunch today with 25 people in our group, the waitresses were very nice and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the "Philly Cheese Stromboli" with au jus on the side to dip in, it was delicious!! Brought my husband home an all the way Calzone, he loved it also. read more

We stopped by for lunch and the food/service was ok. I ordered a caesar salad which I had to add about a teaspoon of salt and pepper to the dressing in order for it to look and taste like caesar dressing (when I got it, it looked like milk curd in a 2oz cup). the pizza and pastas were average, nothing crazy. read more

I would rate this place higher than Pizza Hut and Dominoes. For good fresh, organic, delicious pizza, I'll still vote Cibelli on BEACHSIDE. This is better than the other "local" joint, Bizzaros. The wagon wheel in palm bay is DEFINITELY better than this wagon wheel. The crust is good, but I don't like the pizza sauce (its over seasoned with italian herbs, unlike the palm by wagon wheel which is sweeter and perfectly spiced in my opinion.) The fried pickles are a win for me, but overall this is mediocre at best. read more

We sat down, got our water right away, but now have been waiting 30 minutes...no one has taken our order let alone acknowledged us. There are about 6 tables (only) being used and two waitresses on this Wednesday night. Instead of taking our order, one waitress cleaned 2 tables, cleaned behind the bar and again...refused to acknowledge us. We are currently walking out, the only service we got being our water. I'm not sure what was going on but we will not be back. This was our first time ever coming here and all we took away was disappointment. Here's a tip: bizzarros is right down the road. read more

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. I've eaten in the restaurant a few times, and have ordered take-out many times. Although, I've never had their pizza. I've always ordered other items from the dinner menu. The food is always good, and the service is good too. The prices are good, and they give you plenty of food. No complaints. read more

Wagon Wheel has been my go-to Pizza restaurant since they opened in the 1970's. They make their own salad dressing ... awesome blue cheese. Their "Special Square" pizza is to-die for. It must weigh 20 lbs. it has so many ingredients. Love, love this place! read more

The service and food here are always great. We have been here many times now after hearing about them from our neighbor. They make a fantastic stromboli and everything we tried has been wonderful. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good too. read more

This restaurant has hands down the best Stromboli (Mighty Meaty) I have ever tasted! So much so, I drive 60 miles once a month to get my Stromboli fix. It's packed with many delicious meats, cheese and cooked to a golden brown crust. And the sauce, a terrific homemade sweet tomato sauce that is in perfect harmony with the bitterness of the meats. When I try a new Pizza joint I always go for the supreme. That way I get the majority of ingredients all at once. First thing to do is pick off one pepperoni and taste it. Delicious. If it wasn't I probably wouldnt be back. Eating that giant slice of heavily topped pie is a two hand job and the majority of toppings stay put. Thats a big plus. Amazing flavors all the way to the crust. The best part about this huge pie is the tomorrow factor. Reheat it in a 390 degree oven for 6-10 minutes and the crust takes on an entirely new light crisp dimension. Absolutely the best 'day after' pizza I have ever had. And it freezes well to save for next week. read more

we use to go to wagon wheel restaurant when they were on Apollo Blvd in Melbourne,Fl,then after years they moved into Publix plaza in Lake Washington,Fl,it was still good,about 3 years ago went there with friend and it was not so good,but they were looking for new cook and no air on except ceiling fans ,then 4 years have now gone buy and tonight after going to Doctors in Vieri!we decided to try it again,it was worst food we ever had in many years,French fries were so salted we ate two each and could not eat rest,the egg parmagiano sandwich was terrible bread was burned ,egg parmagino was like they took and peeled skin off but did not bread it tasted like they took it and put it in god only knows what but tasted raw ,plain and awful,I took one bite spit it out tried to eat bread so burned and husband said worst food than navy food,pretty bad,did not complain,for I" m hot temperate did not want to make seen,just said out loud never come here again,asked anti- social waitress if they had new owners for food was terrible,she did not ask if everything was alright,place should close place gone to hell,cause places in Fl don't pay good so get rejects to cook for slave wages,I"m medically retiredItalian chef,know good Italian food that food tonight was garbage,never again.
